I've had my Vado 5.0 for just over a month now, and have been using it for commuting 12 miles to/from work and weekend adventures. As a commuter, this machine is an absolute beauty, checking all the boxes for its class. As an adventure bike, it does okay, though could probably be made better. I've taken it on rough fire roads and old railroad grades in the San Gabriels and it has done well. However, as a commute-oriented bike, it has commute-oriented tires that, while they work on the rough stuff, can feel a little iffy compared to a true mountain bike. There is a reason for this, though: Class III bikes are really designed for roads, not trails. Nonetheless, I might swap out my tires for something a little more trail-worthy. If you're main mission is to commute with this, with a possibility for medium duty adventure, you will absolutely not be disappointed.
