I'm so happy I found these on the Specialized site. I've had one pair for over eight years - I wear them several times a week, they're my "under" full-finger gloves 'glove'. I cut some of the fabric around the back of the hand away (yep, a little tight), and it's the perfect low-profile under-glove. When your morning starts out cold, double glove with these and when it's time to take off the full-fingers, you're set with great shorties. It's worked for me for almost a decade. I'm so glad you're still making them!
prefer these over gel padded gloves. Over many miles and years I learned that, like seat padding, minimal is better. For years I experienced numbness and tingling in my hands so switched to these grail gloves and hands issues went away. These are very mininal though and one star off for the stitching. I own 3 pair and one has started to come apart at the opening. But I will continue to use these and hope to see more Specialized glove designs with this minimal pad.
Guantes muy cómodos.
I'm returning these because I can't even get them on without severely pinching my wrists, fingers, and hands. . Specialized used to make these great Dual Gel gloves with a velcro closure, and I thought I was buying another set of them. These are SO narrow and snug at the wrist.
I really like the comfort and feel of these gloves, but they don't last. First pair: the pad fell out within a couple months. The stitching around the pocket that holds it in came apart completely. Second pair: the stitching on the right thumb started to fall apart almost immediately. I look at these gloves as one season and done. At half price I can justify that. At full price, I expect better build quality.
I love these gloves! You work to get them on, but afterwards they fit like a second skin, with palm padding. Completely comfortable, and the colors are ... sophisticated - (certainly not common) .... I feel in very good taste.
These gloves have no closure mechanism at the wrist -- I struggled to try one on because the fixed-size opening is just too small. When I finally got into one glove (to check fit) it was apparent that I should have sized up one (or even two) sizes despite ordering the Specialized-chart-recommended size. Even with a larger size I think these gloves without the normal closure (typically a velcro tab) would be a major annoyance to use. They're going back.
Nice
Only used them once, but so far they feel good
Had my first pair for about 3 years before I accidently dried them too many times in the dryer and the gel insert came out. I just ordered 2 more pair and they are still my favorite. The gel padding is the perfect amount of padding in just the right spot.
Very light and comfortable. Fits my hands well. Pull tabs make it easy to remove the gloves after use.
These gloves are just okay for longer rides, if that. In spite of the advertising, my hands are going numb quicker than with the gloves these were intended to replace. Cycling 20 miles give or take, is fine. Any longer, you need to take every opportunity to get your hands off the hoods and shake them vigorously. Good thing they were half price.
Good protection, simple mitt. Enough padding on the palm without compromising bar grip. Stops you hands getting chopped up in a stack. Built in wiper for stack tears.
I’ve suffered hand numbness for 15 years despite using all the usual remedies on my road bike. I’ve been using these gloves for 5 months and 1000+ miles and they have eliminated that issue for me. They fit like a second skin. Felt tight first time I put them but no problem now. I have machine washed them several times and still like new. I have the long fingered version as well which I’ll switch to in the Fall. Highly recommended.
Specialized Men’s Body Geometry Gloves are the only choice for me on the gravel. They are well constructed and provide me with the grip and confidence that I need for hitting the chunder. True to size. I use the XL and I am six feet 175 pounds. Recommended!
I have big hands. The size that fits my hand well is really tight to get on. The other BG gloves with a velcro closure are a lot easier to put on, but these have a smaller pad which is sometimes what I want.
I have been very satisfied with my new gloves.
Size up. I normally size L but it is very tight. My hands hurt between fingers after 1 hour ride. XL fits perfect. Otherwise it is very nice gloves.
These are simply incredible in terms of initial comfort, temperature regulation, protection, and long ride comfort. Hard to believe that minimal padding can work better than thick (hot) padding but the placement seems the key. I’ve had some for three years and washed many times and they are only now losing cushioning.
I'll start off by saying, there isn't anything wrong with these gloves. But, for me I don't like the style. I'm used to gloves with a velcro opening to make them easier to put on and take off. After using these, I definitely prefer the velcro style.
Not much padding in the palms.
Great quality and fit.
No numbing
Great for road biking. Not a whole lot of protection for mountain biking. Fabric is breathable, cushion on palm is solid. Not the easiest to take off, but good for what they are.
Great fit and durable.
Reduces frequency and duration of numbness compared to no gloves. Somewhat difficult getting on and off the hands. The finger openings for index and thumb were a little tight on both my hands, which improved with manually stretching them. The fit over the body of each hand was otherwise good.
These are my first riding gloves and I am very satisfied with them after a few rides. I specifically chose them for the Equalizer gel pads since I read great reviews about that technology, and they do feel very comfortable. So comfortable in fact that I totally forget I'm wearing gloves, even on hot days! I was worried about the size being pretty small, but the second-skin feel once on definitely makes up for the bit of finger contortion required to put them on.
I am sorry love your stuff, but these are a joke. Sorry. Way too small and quality is a joke. Again, love your stuff, have road, mountain and shirts, shoes, shorts.... but these gloves are a joke. And sizing is another joke... Medium, is like a child glove a 4 years old.... and quality, what quality? Go to homedepot and buy those gloves quantity 10 for $5.99 and your better off. Specialized folks: you want to chat about this, let me know.
I always buy a large glove, even in specialized. But these fit smaller, and would recommend buying one size larger... Good looking glove in green, with the proper padding in the palm.
Gel pad inside the glove does not stay attached as long as it should. Specialized should develop a new process to ensure the cloth patch stays on longer.
Lijken bij aantrekken te strak. Na 2 keer aan en uittrekken heb je daar handigheid in. De maat komt overeen met pasvorm. Heerlijke fuets handschoen. Een topper!!
Muy cómodos
Fits perfect and snugged.
Nice, fit. Using underneath my winter gloves until the sun is shining. Lightweight, minimal, but padding is effective. Slip on and slip off. Breathable fabric. Like a second skin. Bought 2 pairs and happy I did.
Bought a pair several years ago in Vermont. Although they were one size too large and have now stretched a bit more they still help to eliminate hand numbness. Purchased correct size this time but am still using old pair since wife commandeered new pair and they now help her avoid hand numbness.
The gloves work well. They are my second pair. After first wash top fabric ripped. I've been meaning to call customer service and haven't made the time. This is a 4 star product. I think I just got a dud. My last pair latest over a year.
I should know by now: gloves are always somewhat smaller than indicated size. My hands are “average” size, which I consider “medium,” yet, LARGE sized gloves are still tight. The quality of Specialized gloves is superior to others that I have tried. Providing more objective sizing data would be helpful; perhaps, for example, “wrist size (cm),” “finger length (cm),” or some measure of palm circumference indicated in a diagram.
We love these gloves because they have that nice gel pad and they slip on. Only down side is that I seem to wear them out pretty fast.
.
Bought large per find size. Still a little tight and difficult to get off. If the finger pulls had been on top instead of on the palm side, I think it might have been easier to pull off. Just a guess, but guess what? These are my second pair, so yeah positive outweighs negative, because the tight fit is what I like, so I’m reluctant to go to xl and be disappointed.
This is a great glove that I have been using for years, however whilst the early release of this glove featured stitching to fingers, and other areas, the newer version is glued, and the glue does not last long with heavy use. Over the last three years I have been through 4 sets of gloves, and I have now reverted to my initial pair, which are starting to stretch out. I visited the specialized website hoping to see whether they had reverted back to the stitching, however it does not seem to be the case.
Mas pequeño de lo normal
I really like the way these fit and feel since I prefer the more even padding across the palm to the other gloves with thick pads that leave the area where my palm hits road bars unpadded. But the black dye leaked blue out for months of use and regular washing (to try to get it to stop). It changed the color of my bar tape, and filled my sink with blue/black dye every time I washed them. I had to be careful where to dry them so they wouldn't drip blue dye on a white towel or whatever. If they fixed the dye issue I would buy a bunch of these, but I see others complain about the same thing.
Best available
Great gloves, but tight getting them off in Size medium for what I would consider smallish hands
My all time favorite gloves. The palm pads are genius. No more numb fingers My only complaint is the material could be a little thicker. I’m afraid they won’t last long
I have found no better glove to alleviate hand numbing from pressure on the Ulnar nerve. Absolutely recommend.
These are great gloves for a long ride to prevent some numbness. Also, the customer service was over the top expected to make sure I had them in time for a big ride.
run a little small
these are the perfect gloves for me. I use them for MTB. they are very light. slim fitting, no velcro or straps. the only padding is right where I need it and my grips do not provide, in the palm pit.
I love the Grail glove. I would have given a 5 but specialized went from a sewn-in pad to bonded (glued) construction which is inferior. The glove is very tight on first wearing but after a couple of rides, it fits…well, like a glove! I won’t buy anything else.
Great product best quality
A pad in the middle of my palm feels a little odd. But I have much less finger numbness with these gloves, and If I do get prickles, they go away much quicker when I take my hand off the handlebar.
I love these gloves. Light and cool with minimal padding.
These are really nice-looking gloves made from quality materials, and they feel nice when you put them on. But I tried 2 different pairs of these, and in both pairs the gel pad shifted around and bunched up in a ball at the base of the pocket where it's contained. Both times this happened on the first or 2nd time wearing them. It's a nice idea but doesn't work for me.
Comfortable with good grip when sweaty. Also help with evaporating sweat. Minimal padding in the palm, which is what I was looking for.
Quite difficult to get on and off, would like more padding for the base of the thumb.
Muito bom , excelente qualidade atendimento rápido e fácil
First off, please note that Specialized has fixed the "balling up" problem. My gloves, bought off of the Specialized website, look to be manufactured in April of 2022. The pad in the middle is now stitched onto the "insert" which is then fused into the inside of the glove. As to the gloves' performance, all I have to say is, it's like magic! If you haven't tried these before, grab a pair. These are a steal at this price ($35 at time of review) and outperform gloves three times that price. It is an interesting feeling at first. Because there is no padding in the "usual" spots, I can actually feel the bar and it is as if I'm not even wearing gloves. Also, I can tell that there is more pressure in the middle of my hands where there wasn't before. Yet somehow... no numb and/or painful hands even on long rides! After a 200K are my hands uncomfortable? Yes, they are, but no longer do I have cyclists' palsy for weeks afterwards.
Guantes super comodos, se ajustan perfectamente a la mano, ergonomicos y confortables, ideales para rutas largas. Los recomiendo 100%
Guantes super comodos, ergonomicos y confortables, ideales para rutas largas. Los recomiendo 100%.
2nd pair of gloves in 5 years.....so I was little overdue. That being said, these fit nicely, tight (as designed), and have great padding in the underhand. I've had them about a month (500 or so miles), take good care of them, and they have stretched out a little,,,as expected. Never had an issue with the underhand padding "balling up" - so either its been fixed or I did something magically to prevent this. I also enjoy the pull on type gloves (as opposed to the velcro closure) as I seem to always be wiping sweat away with my glove tops.....thanks Texas! Easy recommendation to anyone interested.
Pretty good
Perfect fit no need for bulky wrist strap, love them
I’ve been using the Specialized Grail gloves for years. In fact, it’s the only cycling gloves I use. The gel is in the perfect position for me, and there’s no velcro tabs.
Comfortable and well designed but the gel pad shifts with use.
Not the glove for me. Fit was fine, once I could get the gloves on, tough getting them on around the palm. Very lightly padded, too light for me. I was getting hand numbness and hot spots. Tough to get off.
I like the gloves. I prefer gloves without Velcro, so these fit that requirement. Fit is very snug. A little time needed to remove them after riding. Very happy though. Will buy again, but probably not at the full RRP.
Took them out of the box and wore them on a century without issue. That's how good they are. If you haven't tried grail gloves, you are doing it wrong.
What can I say they’re awesome
My wife insisted I try these gloves and now I won't wear any others. The palm support is a game changer for my wrists.
I actually read the reviews after buying these gloves. The bunching of the gel insert seems to be a real problem, so I have been careful in using these gloves. It seems like after my first ride, the pressure and heat from my hands kind of "set" the gel insert into place. I have continued to be careful, but hopefully these gloves will still be okay after I begin to get careless. Four stars because the stitching is not as nearly as flawless as in the pictures.
Same issue everyone else is having. Gel bunched up into one small spot. Wish I had seen these reviews before my local shop recommended them I'm their store.
Wish I saw these reviews first, but I had purchased these up (size Small) as a quick replacement pair from my LBS. And like so many others have experienced, the gel padding had bunched up on one side. Unfortunately, it's not easily fixable and quite a waste of money.
The gel bunched up. Spent a tremendous time replacing it back and bunched right back up. Do not buy
Very comfortable but the padding bunched up on their inaugural 22 mile ride. Completely unacceptable! Not sure why they didn't see this down after so many complaints, but save your time and discomfort and get anything else!
About 3 yrs ago I purchased my first pair of grail gloves (high viz yellow half finger), love them, still have them even if they are faded, worn and tattered. They were game changers for me. I also have a pair of the long finger version (white/black). Both pairs have been great. I saw the half finger version on sale here, had my LBS order me 2 pairs of the aqua blue half finger version. On both pairs the ortho pad has rolled/bunched up. I see many others have had this issue. Even the bike shop acknowledged it has been an issue. I compared the original pair to the new pair and the original was sewed on the inside of the glove vs some sort of fused/glued in now. I'm going to see if a seamstress can cut the inside ""pouch"" and reset the pad and sew it in place. If that doesn't work, I'll just remove the pad. Hate they've ruined a great pair of gloves! Hope they fix the pad roll up issue!
This is my third pair of these gloves and they have been comfortable and held up well. My wife also has a pair and she enjoys them better than other gloves she has tried. Comfortable, good fit, quality construction.
The padding buched up after two rides. I now have a mini ball of padding in one spot. Garbage.
Wish I'd read reviews before purchasing, gel balled up after 1 use. Poor design on an otherwise well fitting glove....
The gel starts to ball up after just one or two rides. This happened on two separate pairs of gloves, luckily my local bike shop was very understanding, The gloves work great! I just wish they would work for longer than a single ride.
Bought 3 of them because the previous version was so good. Wore for a while then washed them (admittedly in the washer). Then I set them out to air dry. Gel pad balled up and that was the end of them. I don't remember my previous version ever having that problem. Wound up turning them inside out, slicing between two perforations and pulling out the gels. At least they're quasi-useful. Disappointing. They were my go-to gloves.
Got a pair and wishing the first 10km the gel pad moved around and rolled itself up into a ball inside the pocket it's inside, it was like trying to ride with a golf ball in the palm of your gloves. Giving things a fair go and thinking it could be a one off fault returned them for a new pair the very next day only to find the exact same thing happened. Would not buy or recommend
The gloves fit well. However, the gels are located in a sealed pocket and tend to move around, eventually ending up in one part of the pocket and forming an uncomfortable lump. This design is problematic, since it is virtually impossible to readjust the gel pad in the glove once it moves and is painful to ride with on the handlebar. Would not buy again, and would not recommend. Look for a pair of gloves that have a gel pad that doesn't move around, or is readjustable.
Have a pair of the previous version that has lasted over 2 years and still provides exception comfort and contact. I've bought 2 pairs of the latest version and they last less than 90 days. After washing, the gel ""pocket"" disconnects from the glove itself and the pad comes out. I hate these gloves and am looking for a new, go to glove.
Loved the previous version as fit was spot on, just enough padding to dampen bumps and still maintain good feel, and super durable so after 2 + years was time to get a couple new pairs. After the 1st ride I was sooo disappointed as the gel pack is not secured in the palm and had all squished up near the bottom of the gel pocket. As soon as I got home slit a tiny hole in bottom of gel pockets of both sets of gloves and pulled out the gel pads... now they are perfect! Should have went for the Pro SL gloves as this what these have essentially become.
I bought this pair of cycling gloves based on style and Specialized logo. After wearing just twice, the pocket containing the gel pad on the left hand broke open and the pad fell out. The right hand gel pad rolled into a ball within its pocket and cannot be unrolled giving you a big bulge in the palm. After two uses, these gloves are already left unusable. Contacted Specialized for refund/replacement. So far, no replies
The shape and fit of the gloves is great. But as all the reviews state the gel pad rolls into a ball after the first ride. Also annoying is that they turned my white bar tape blue, this is also after they were washed.
Buy any other gloves. ANY. Just don't but these. See all those horrible reviews about the gel padding? It WILL happen to you too. I made the mistake of buying these at my LBS without seeing any of the reviews. Took two rides for the pad to roll up. Sent an email to CS and said ""I can't get the pads unbunched."" They said NP, we'll send you a replacement. Kudos to them for that. BUT, then..... about 5 miles into my first ride with the replacement pair, I could feel the pad gathering at the heel of my hand. I had to take them off before the end of my ride because they got so uncomfortable. Two pairs couldn't last 60 miles between them. Get the Dual Gel and take your chances with a bad velcro strap. Get ANY other glove. DO NOT waste your money on these.
I purchased two pairs of grail gloves, long and short fingered, as my Excellent three year old pair of Grail gloves was starting to wear. Simply put, the gel insert in each pair moved whilst wearing and when washed the gel insert balled up, making the gloves impossible to use. This is a bad design and I'm not the first one to point this out. That said, other specialized gloves I have owned have been great but this gel insert version is awful
i ride not more than 10 km and the gel is bulked in the palm... the worst pair of gloves i had. I often use specialized BG, but i go for these, because the seller recommend them... after every ride i spend more than 20 minutes to unbolk the gel. Everytime is harder....
I bought a pair of BG Grail two weeks ago. I used them on one ride (roughly 20 miles) and the gel pad is bunched up in the heel. I cannot get the pad to unbunch and am close to cutting it open to fix it myself. I will be sending an email to see what Specialized can do before I make that jump. I am highly disappointed in the product.
