Coastal cruiser

This bike (Sirrus 3.0) is the lightest bike I have ever owned. I ride an average of 20-30 miles per ride. I ride along the coast, and by sand dunes, and the tires are decent when riding over a little slippery beach sand. The components are smooth, and shift quickly. Great brakes, Awesome bike, lots of fun.

Owner's manual very sparse. Dealer set-up not great. Makes a good bike "meh".

This bicycle replaced a 30-year-old, steel-framed hardtail mountain bike that I converted for cycle commuting. I've commuted twice and done a number of shorter rides. I would consider purchasing this bike again. The selling dealer was more interested in selling a bike and not setting it up. I've adjusted seat height/tilt/fore-aft seat position and position of shifters and brake levers, which a selling dealer should look at before a bike goes out the door. Disc brake levers have a "reach" adjustment, yet you will not find this in the owner's manual, on Specialized's website, or even on the brake manufacturer's website! I found this information on third-party sites devoted to correct setup of disc brakes for mountain bikes. The rear seat stay threaded bosses are at a strange angle for rear rack mounting. I wish there was a shock-absorbing seatpost option, and maybe also a shock-absorbing handlebar stem option. I can get these items elsewhere.

Light weight (around 22lbs), smooth

Light weight (around 22lbs), smooth on road surface, gear changes quickly, nice design and color. Great for daily fitness or riding around town. This bike makes me want to ride all day. Good response, impact resistance and weight savings from the carbon fork - Consider the full carbon framed Sirrus 4 if you can afford the extra $250.

After 30+ years on my road bike, I decided at my age (80) that a hybrid would be my solution to continue my regular riding schedule. The Sirrus 3.0 has more than satisfied my solution for comfort and performance.

700 Mile Review

I like this bike. I'm a fitness rider, 6'4" (XL frame), 215 lbs, and I get out every other day for 22+ miles in about two hours. I bought this to replace my 2011 Crosstrail (over 30,000 miles). It took a little getting used to the 2 x 9 drive line, and the fastest I can pedal is about 28 mph downhill. It's nice and light, and handles well. The disc brakes are a must. I was concerned that it did not have Armadillo tires - vital on the shoulders on Oahu - but because I special ordered two Nimbus Armadillo tires, now hanging in the garage, the original tires are doing fine knock wood. It doesn't help much with headwinds, though.

Love my Sirrus 3

I am impressed with every aspect of this bike. The hydraulic brakes work great, smooth & no squeaks. I basically wanted a bike with a wide range of gears for commuting on pavement and this bike fits the bill. Shifting is smooth and the bike just glides. My height is on the cusp of large/ X-large, i would go with the large next time, as the xl frame really would be better suited to a taller person. I'm gonna just that with an adjustable handlebar stem.

Love my Sirrus 3.0

Very nimble. Smoothest ride ever. Riding in a city with lots of hills, gears are perfect. A good looking and comfortable ride. 5'9" F, both M and L frames feel great. Ride before you buy to get best fit.

It's a nice, solid bike

It's a nice, solid bike with decent components. I've ridden Specialized since the 90's and still own a Stumpy and an Allez, so the fit is as expected and the configuration is comfortable. I will say the bike is a tad heavy, but still for a city bike it's a great alternative. I probably wouldn't take it on a 50 mile ride, but 10, 20, around town, to/from the store, definitely! I bought the bike as an alternative to driving everywhere, so it is a great way to get around! Overall: nice bike, decent components, a little heavy, but worth the price.

Love the bike but the sizing was a little off. I was just below the recommended size for XL so I went with the L and it is a little too small. Should have went to get sized at a bike shop.
