If you can characterize your life as on-the-go, busy, or not having enough time, we made a bike for you—the Turbo Vado 3.0. It's made to accommodate busy lives that are always in movement, which is why we took our award-winning pedal-assist technology and accelerated it well into the future.

Beginning with the integrated Specialized 1.2 E motor, the Turbo Vado proves itself as the ultimate city bike. The 1.2 E uses the same hardware as our 1.2 motor, but it features a tune that prioritizes efficiency. This means less peak torque and maximum output. Of course, it still features a near-silent operating design with our Custom Rx Street Tune that takes the output and makes it the most usable for an urban environment. Think of it this way: The more power you put out, the more power the motor puts out, and this makes accelerations from a standstill at, say, a traffic light both quick and efficient. The belt driven motor is also smooth, silent, and free of annoying vibrations.

For the Vado 3.0, we developed a custom Specialized U1-460 battery that seamlessly integrates into the frame, is lockable, and easily removable for simplified charging. In other words, there's plenty of juice to take you to and from work, a trip to the grocery store, or even to that new café on the other side of the city. If you wish to see exactly how far you can go on a charge, have a look at our Turbo Range Calculator for more exact estimates.

The new wired Turbo Connect Display (TCD-w) is the best way to view data on your Turbo. It not only displays important ride metrics (speed, cadence, rider power, distance, battery level, time, etc.), it also allows you to connect the latest version of the Mission Control App for an enhanced Turbo experience. With our free app for iOS and Android phones, you easily customize motor parameters, control your range, record/upload rides, and perform basic system diagnosis.

To top off all of the innovative features, we chose a worry-free spec that features Shimano 9-speed components, hydraulic disc brakes, front/rear lights, and fender & rack mounts.

  • The Turbo Vado features a lightweight alloy frame that’s been designed with our Fitness/Transportation Geometry.
  • The Turbo Vado’s Specialized 1.2 E motor emphasizes efficiency and range. We also fully integrated it with the frame, and it's been custom-tuned for city riding. It intuitively reacts to the force of your pedaling, so the harder you pedal, the more power it delivers. And with an internal belt drive design, it does this without added vibration for the smoothest and most silent ride possible.
  • We made the custom 460 Wh battery to be fully integrated with the frame, removable for easy charging, and lockable for added security. It communicates with the display and has multiple modes to maximize the overall efficiency and range. For range estimates based upon a variety of variables, please refer to our Turbo Range Calculator.

Disappointing battery range

Bought in 2019 and pleased with the bike at first, I’m finding that the battery doesn’t give the duration that other friends’ bikes are. On the same rides, they are completing 70 mile rides, my bike battery is flat at 30 miles. I am using less assist than they are. My sister bought her bike from Decathlon at the same time at a quarter of the price and hers is doing the same mileage as mine. Think seriously before buying.

Great commuter

I’m a long-time bike commuter, and got an e-bike to further reduce my car use for other trips around town. After 1 month of riding it’s working and I love this bike! Functions like a fully loaded hybrid bike (upright, very stable, fenders, lights, traction tires), but rides like my road bike (fast, light, agile). The front light is possibly my favorite element- it is not only incorporated so no more battery/charging hassle, but also the light is bright and really lights up the road. Range has been predicable so far. I really like how the gear shifting and power assist levels work together - ergonomically comfortable and together I have a lot of choices to respond to the hills and other conditions.

Amazingly The Best 🚴

I get a thrill passing up those want to be professional dressed up riders lol; especially, going up steep hills as I; see the fatigue factor kick in and I smoothly past everyone enjoying the look on theirs face. My long distance rides on Sport mode makes it so much fun for the duration out and back, this is amazingly the best bike I've ever had.

Rediscovered the joy of riding!

I'm 61, live in So. Cal at the top of a hill in the burbs. My house is 1.5 miles from the relatively flat community - in fact, it's a 1000' climb - so leaving home is a breeze - all downhill, but getting home after a ride was horrible. My former bike had 27 speeds so getting home was ridiculous - pedals whirring around and bike barely moving. My Specialized bike allows me to ride up the hill at 10 mph in 4 gear with level 3 power at a very comfortable pace. I'm knocking down barriers riding further, faster, and in comfort, balancing burning calories and not straining myself. I knock out 20 mile rides several times a week and it's like being a kid again. I wish I'd done this sooner. Great product.

Loving it!

It is just awesome! If I didn't have winter to deal with, it would have replaced my car. It is so much fun, that when riding it, I have the biggest grin on my face! Right now, I'm just dying waiting for the snow to recede so I can get riding again! I've had zero issues with the bike and no regrets spending a chunk of money for it either.

Love the bike!

My husband & I bought these bikes 8 months ago and we couldn't be happier. We are 66 years old and hadn't been on bikes since we were in our 20s. The bikes are comfortable, look good, move well and the three levels of power give us confidence to ride in all terrains. As we get older the weight of the bikes might mean that we change them for a lighter Specialized equivalent. We are so happy with them - they have given us a newfound sense of fun and fitness.
