The new Tarmac is designed to go fast, there's no if's, and's, or but's about that—but it represents so much more than just aerodynamic prowess. With a light-weight, Rider-First Engineered™ frame, it delivers the best-possible ride characteristics, no matter the size. So no matter what you have planned for your new Tarmac, its ready to help you achieve your goals—PRs, KOMs, or podium top-steps. One bike to rule them all.

With the new SRAM Rival eTap AXS 12-speed group to bring wireless shifting to the masses, along wtih some fast rolling tires in the Turbo Pro 700x26mm tires, this new Tarmac delivers performance at a more palatable price point.

  • While aerodynamics were paramount to the Tarmac’s development, and to the development of all of our race bikes, weight was the co-pilot on this optimal race bike journey. Previously “aero bikes” always compromised in the weight department—the more drag you reduced, the more weight you gained. With the new Tarmac, our design philosophy was to keep it at, or below, the UCI weight limit out of the box, with no sacrifices to aerodynamics. And with the help of the FreeFoil Shape Library, tools like isotopic FEA analysis, and some engineering wizardry by the best engineers in the industry, we delivered a frame that weighs a mere 920 grams, without giving up a gram of aero, stiffness or ride quality.

  • Continuing our quest to develop the perfect race bike, we used our Rider-First Engineered™ philosophy to ensure that the new Tarmac is the most balanced, best handling Tarmac yet—no matter the size. With an army of the world’s best test riders from our three World Tour Teams — Boels-Dolmans, Deceuninck-Quick-Step, and Bora-hansgrohe — we made changes to the Tarmac based on their thousands of kilometers on the road. We balanced the ride quality between the front and rear end, so even the longest days in the saddle continue to be comfortable—all without giving up anything to the Tarmac’s legendary handling and race-winning snappiness.

  • Building on the learnings from the Venge, the new Tarmac utilizes simple integration to create a clean, fast cockpit that’s easy to live with. We’ve improved the routing for any configuration — mechanical shifting, traditional stems, round bars, etc. — all while keeping its aerodynamic attributes. These same traits also make the new Tarmac easy to work on and easy to travel with. It’s a win-win.

Really stunning bike for the $$

This was an upgrade from my previous SL3 which had no major issues over something like 30K miles. Due to this my first stop for a new bike was Specialized and I held out for a new SL7 as the integrated cables and headset was important to me if I was going to get a new bike. This is my first electronic shifting road bike and I will never go back. Just seamless and easy every time with no issues 1 year in. I got the teal tint paint job and it is really different than the images in a good way. When the sun hits it you can see all the carbon joints, production marks, but in the shadows it almost looks matte black. Really great upgrade at a very reasonable price.

Love the bike, not so much the assembly service

This is a great bike and I love the Tarmac SL7 design. But there’s an assembly issue with the breaks. I paid for specialized delivery which includes assembly and delivery. After a couple of rides I noticed the break pads are rubbing against the break disc rotors. It’s seems like the break calipers weren’t assembled correctly and nobody at the shop aligned them. That’s for front and rear breaks. And I have I noticed this on other people’s brand new SL7s too. This is not acceptable for this kind of bike. Make sure to check the breaks at the time of delivery.

Great bike overall

The bike feels and ride spectacular.Best frame set that I’ve ridden, stiff and responsive. Rival group set is known for its good value for money, truly wireless and reliable even if a bit heavy. Wheels are a let down on the spec side considering the price tag. Upgraded to zipp 303 and tubeless tyres.

Great Bike

Shopped around for a while looking for an upgrade. Could not be happier with this bike. Shipping to local dealer was easy and they went above and beyond putting it together. It rides great. Love the look of it too.

Unbelievable feel

Back to riding after thirteen years and three knee surgeries and I couldn’t be happier! Reviewed and looked around all winter and it came down to the SL7 in the exact color scheme I was looking for. Extremely happy with my first ride it was like the bike wanted to take off without me; a lot has changed since I rode last, wheels feel light and fast and as I said I’m coming back from a long break and I am more than happy with where I landed!

beware of fork/frame color match on white model

Great bike. Far to expensive to have alloy wheels which need to be upgraded but it is a great frame and rival works well-although front derailleur stopped working after 4 months… After one year fork has become a sort of yellowy cream and frame remains original color. I’ve noticed this on at least two others so its not just mine. Pity for an expensive bike. Spoils the sleek look a lot

I love the new frame

I love the new frame nimbleness and stiffness, 28mm tire capability and disc brakes, non of which my old bike had. with the relatively low cost comp configuration I also upgraded the wheels which is pretty common. I got a great deals on a new alpinist cl wheelset and s-works shallow drop bars and total weight is 17 lbs. The bike of fun and fast.

I both the bicycle on

I both the bicycle on the site and shipped to the bicycle shop. The process to order the bicycle was relatively easy. If you never built a bike or don't have the time..., well, that is the best way to do it plus you warrantee to receive a dialed-in bicycle.. The bicycle is sexy, the bicycle is fast, and responsive when you apply power to the pedals. I upgraded from a 2017 allez spring 49cm on a shimano 105 to the SL7 comp. The electronic shifting is crisp and easy to adapt to. If you wonder about the weight, the total weight with the assioma duo power meter and “S- works bottle cages was 8.49 Kg. Currently waiting on my Roval C38 wheels on tubeless. She will look even better.

Best bang for your buck

I went for the white SL7 Comp, and I don't regret anything. Never been one for white bikes but the white/black contrast looks incredibly good and the paint glistens in the sun. The bike is super fast and with a wheel upgrade there really isn't much else to worry about. I put the new Rapide CLX II wheels on here and have been smashing many local KOM's. The Rival AXS shifting somehow feels faster than Red and Force... Try it out and you'll see what I mean.

Awesome Bike

I recently bought the Tarmac SL7 to replace a 15 year old Giant TCR Advanced. The nice things about the Tarmac is the frame, the 12 gearing and 36 cassette and the wireless components. Great configuration for a great price.

Quick. but also with its drawbacks.

The bike is great. responsive and carries speed well. It is, however quite heavy due to the groupset and the stock tires give quite a harsh ride. Overall I am satisfied after setting it up tubeless and the bike would be perfect with some upgrades.
