S-Works Turbo Road Tubeless

Fitted ok and after less than 100 miles of use the bead stopped holding tubeless pressure and leaked sealand, even with inspection and re-fitting/seating. The worst road tubeless I have ever used. Avoid.

Here's the reality, it's a bicycle tire, so yes it will puncture but with sealant you'll be able to finish your ride. Make no mistake this is a race tire, it wears out quick and it is thinner than other tubeless tires(like the Roubaix) but as a race tire, it is by far the best tire that I have ever raced on(8 years of racing)! I give it 5 stars for being what it is intended to be, a race tire. If you're looking for a commuter/training tire, go with the Roubaix tubeless, better wear and more puncture resistance.

No doubt Specialized makes some of the best tires on the road. This is a technology that works for bigger mountain bike tires but not very well for road bikes. The tires are EXTREMELY tight fitting to the rim, as they should be to hold a seal, but if you puncture and have to pop in a quick tube to get home ...good luck getting the ridiculously tight bead off and on the rim with just field tools. Don't believe the hype - they will puncture. The only benefit to tubers tires on road bikes is they rarely get a pinch flat. The tires lose air every single day. Sometimes a little, sometimes a lot and sometimes during the ride. Sealant has to added and reapplied at regular intervals. Without fail, every time this is done the tires will not reseat correctly and have to be remounted. I bought these thinking that if anyone had the tech dialed in this it would be Specialized, unfortunately, this is tech that needs to stay with mountain bikes.

I ride a Trek 2.3 since January 2009 with updated Bontrager RXL wheels, 50-34 crank-ring gears and 11/28 rear cassette gears for the hills. I have ridden this bicycle over 30,000 miles and I've been buying Specialized S-Works Turbo Road Tubeless 700x26 since 2015 (16,000 miles) and continue to buy them to this date. I have purchased other brands (lots of tires) but the S-Works Tubeless have been the best for my riding in the Texas Hill Country. I have weighed all of the other tires of the same size and the S-Works Tubeless tires consistently weigh 300 grams. The S-Works Turbo Tubeless tires have made my riding easier going up hills and on long distance flat roads. I'm 68 years old and ride 4 (sometimes 5 in summer) days per week, 48 to 65 miles per ride in the Texas Hill Country. These tires and rims reduce leg muscle fatigue and offered ease of peddling. Tire pressure is set at 110 lbs. Only 2 punctures- 1 self sealed by liquid sealant and the other was a side puncture that required an internal patch I performed on the roadside within 20 minutes. I carry patches, levers, Koolstop tire lever and 2 ounce bottle of sealant and CO2 cartridges. Yes, they cost more but the low roll resistance and light weight is worth the cost.

Usually Specialised are spot on with their weights but I bought two 26mm tubeless tyres and they were much heavier than 'approx 280g' at 322g and 326g. Very disappointed.
