The Best Yet

""The Best"" when it comes to saddles is always a very individual thing due to anatomical differences, riding position, type of riding, and a host of other factors. The saddle is the most critical point of contact with the bike at 6'2"", 92 kg I've tried many, many different saddles. For me the 155mm version of this is the best I've ridden in over 50 years of riding and competing. My first ride out of the box on this was a metric century set up level with the same fore/aft position on my Trek Domane SLR9 as my previous saddle, fantastic. Ive done 200km+ days on this, simply disappears. It's comfortable whether in the drops or on the tops or hoods and I do feel that the shape does improve power transfer. Works great, looks great, feels great, please specialized don't mess with this one, it's perfect just the way it is.

Best saddle Specialized has ever made

Our anatomical differences make a saddle review very subjective, but hopefully my experience will help your decision. I have owned and ridden the Romin, Phenom and Toupé saddles in S-WORKS and lesser variants. I found all to be rather agreeable, especially the Romin, in preserving blood flow and comfort over long distances and in more aggressive positions. I'm often in the drops, and as you flex forward your body presses against the saddle's ""beak"", which becomes your worst enemy. In most saddles, the cutout gets significantly narrower in the front and effectively useless. Thus riding in an aggressive position can cut your blood flow, numb your pelvic region, etc. This is where the Power shines. It is slightly shorter in the front, and its cutout remains large up to the tip of the saddle. Riding in a TT/Tri position with the Power is not only possible without discomfort, but actually no less comfortable than riding upright. And contrary to its ugly cousin (I'm looking at you, Sitero) the Power accomplishes all this while looking great on the bike. I don't think this recipe can be improved any further!

Finally a saddle that fits and goes unnoticed

The coach who performed a complete bike fit at Bike Effect in Santa Monica recommended this saddle in lieu of the stock saddle that came with my Specialized Roubaix 2017 model. The measured width of my sitting bones dictated the 155 mm saddle width. After a short accommodation period, the saddle feels great. I am free of saddle pain, saddle focus, and saddle sores. Part of the process of getting good results obviously is to have other bike-body geometry as ideal as possible. I do not regret spending the money on my Power saddle or my complete bike fit. To me, the pleasure outweighs the extra cost.
