Looking for a bike that soars as well as it sprints? Look no further than the Epic EVO Expert.

Wheels up or head down, the Epic EVO Expert’s masterful blending of inspired handling, capable geometry and laser-focused pedaling efficiency makes sure no rider ever has to make the decision between fast and fun.

While the Epic EVO sees a seemingly modest 20-millimeter increase in suspension travel up front over its Epic stablemate and just 10-millimeters out back, we’ve worked overtime to make sure it’s been implemented in a way that’ll have you saying ‘Whoa!’ as soon as you hit your first stretch of singletrack.

Meticulously engineered to retain as much of the Epic’s standard-setting efficiency as possible, the EVO’s new suspension kinematics work in concert with Rx XC Tune customized suspension front and rear to ensure you're able to make the absolute most out of every inch of travel on tap, while still offering increased anti-squat characteristics for improved pedaling efficiency.

With plenty of practice at staying ahead of the curve, the Epic EVO now lays claim to the most capable iteration of our Progressive XC Geometry ever to grace an Epic. It’s also more versatile than ever thanks to a new flip chip-equipped rear end that allows riders to adjust headtube angle and bottom bracket height to easily customize Epic EVO’s handling characteristics.

SRAM's high-flying X01 Eagle group handles shifting duties, while RockShox's SID Select+ is firmly in charge of takeoffs and landings with it's capable Charger 2 RL damper.

  • Flip It To Rip It: Tune the ride of the Epic EVO’s FACT 11m carbon frame to match your preferred handling characteristics with flip-chip simplicity that allows riders to reduce the EVO’s headtube angle by half a degree while lowering bottom bracket height by 10 millimeters.

  • Suspension up front comes courtesy of RockShox's SID Select+ 120-millimeter fork, featuring their Charger 2 RL Damper with two-postion compression adjustment for impressive pedaling efficiency while the DebonAir spring offers easy tuning and consistent feel throughout the entire range of travel.

  • X-Fusion's Manic dropper post offers infinitely adjustable travel via it's slick shifter-stye remote lever for hassle-free operation when things get dicey.

  • Descending from a long World Cup lineage, hand-built Roval Control Carbon wheels feature a modern 29-millimeter internal-width hookless rim, and maximize strength, ride quality, and durability while keeping weight to a minimum.

Love my Epic EVO Expert

Favorite bike I’ve owned by far! I feel like it’s light and nimble enough to be a very good XC race bike and very capable at handling rougher stuff that I ride in Pisgah at the same time. My only complaint has been the Roval wheels as I’ve broken spokes off them on about 4-5 occasions. However, I’m a bigger guy and ride hard.

Great bike

My favorite bike in 15 years of riding. I would give it 5*, but for the price I would rather have stuck with a cable derailleur and upgraded to a carbon bar and a better bottom bracket

Easy and Fast

This bike is a real pleasure to ride and appeals to the xc and trail rider all in one. I rode for 4 hour the other day and no sore back or hands. Feels very planted but responsive to the terrain. Im going to change the front tire to something a little more grippy but thats all. Excellent product straight out the box. Thats Specialized Road and Mtb covered just need to add a cx/gravel bike to the collection !!

Great bike

Slower than the Epic HT or the Epic, but very well equipped for rugged trail riding. The G2 brakes perform surprising well, they are firm and grab the rotors at the beginning of the pull. The tires are solid and grippy and high performance. But the 2.35 in back is slow on the accents. My bike is a size medium and it came with 175mm cranks which are too long. The cockpit is compact, so you use 175's then you may need a larger frame. The 32t chainring is too small. A 34t is more than sufficient, even for the steep climbs. Suspension is very tunable and the carbon frame and wheels perform flawlessly. All said, with a couple of minor part changes, this bike is a super high quality performer.

The best in the world with just three upgrades to complete perfection!

I've ridden different bikes from Trek, Giant, and Scott, but without a doubt, the Specialized is very different from them, and surprisingly great. But cross-country models suffer from some shortcomings. Because these bikes are usually used as marathons in the woods, a few possibilities must be added to make them perfect: 1- Rear suspantion remote lock, so that we never have to give up the steering wheel on difficult routes; 2- Storage inside the body, like trail models, so that we can store food and equipment in long distances, without the need to carry a bag; 3- Rear fender, so that the carbon body and its driving parts are not scratched with mud and stones of forest paths.

Impressed & Surprised By Comfort & Speed.

I've had my Epic Evo Expert for 1 week. Very impressed and surprised at how comfortable it feels. It's plush in the open setting and pedals effortlessly like a hardtail without needing to be locked out. I experienced some pedal bobbing until I set the suspension up to be on the firmer side for my weight. Still playing around with damping along with the contact points to dial the bike in but so far so good. Components are great also. Always liked the nice 'snap' sound of the X01 drivetrain (GX cassette). The.G2 RS brakes seem to be better than the previous G2 RSC brakes on my last bike. The RS seem to be quieter and less prone to squealing in the wet which is nice. Love the carbon Roval wheels and the Ground Control tires are surprisingly comfy without being wishy-washy. Bottom line... Specialized have 'nailed it' with this bike. The Epic Evo is balanced, poised and contemporary. Ticks every box. Very happy chappy :)

I love this ride! I

I love this ride! I upgraded to the Epic EVO Expert from my old 2011 Stumpjumpert Expert EVO 29er and it’s a night and day difference. Changing from a hardtail to a full suspension has allowed me to stay out a little longer on the rougher trails and actually cut my times on several of my local trails. The geometry is a little different and took a couple rides to get used to but now it feels more natural. I cut the bars down 20 mm and this helped also. The suspension was easy to set up using Specialized’s online calculator and after a few minor tweaks it is supple on the down hillls but still climbs really well. I’ve engaged the lockout on the rear shock for a few of our longer climbs and it ascends just as good as my old Stumpy. Converting the tires to tubeless was super easy and the valves were included. I was pleasantly surprised to also receive a shock pump and two cages with the swat tool when the bike arrived. I ordered directly from Specialized and had the bike delivered to my house and the process was awesome. Being a former bike mechanic I wasn’t to worried about the assembly portion but even if I didn’t have my past shop experience I think the assembly process would have been easy enough for anyone. Bottom line, this is a lively feeling bike that descends just as good as it ascends and I would recommend it to anyone thinking about it.
