Bought this for my 6 yr old, and it's a perfect transition from the single-speed Riprock Coaster. Time to hit the big boy trails!

Pick this up for our 6 year old. It is great. Like others said. It's a big confidence boost. Learning how gears work and the fat tires help a lot. I have ridden specialized for many years and once again this is awesome

We bought this for our 7 year old to ride trails on. It's been a great success and has inspired a lot of confidence. The big tires and front shock let him bounce right over a lot of trail obstacles. The disc brakes allow him to be comfortable going down steeper hills faster, knowing that he has the stopping power when he needs it. It's also much lighter than his old, smaller department store bike. My only complaint is the twist shifter. It's really a bad concept in my opinion. A few laps around the trail and his hand hurts from shifting and I don't like him having to shift his hand position right at the bottom of, or in the middle of a climb. I have a Shimano trigger shifter coming to replace it, and it's a cheap ($20) swap, but I do wish it had that to begin with. Otherwise very satisfied and will be buying another for the younger kid once he's tall enough.
