A mountain bike is freedom: the ability to pick a spot on the map and say, “Let’s go there,” or maybe go off the map altogether. With a lightweight frame, responsive front suspension, and powerful hydraulic disc brakes, the Pitch 27.5 is your perfect adventure partner.

BEST OF BOTH WORLDS

Riders have long debated whether fast-rolling 29er wheels were better than nimble 26ers. Turns out, the sweet spot for many is right in between, so the Pitch rolls on 27.5-inch wheels that keep much of a 29er’s confident handling in a tighter, lighter package.

STRONG YET SMOOTH

The A1 Premium Aluminum is burlier than a brontosaurus’s backbone. But strong doesn’t have to mean harsh or heavy. Our engineers went over every tube, tweaking, pinching, nipping and tucking to make sure it offers a smooth ride no matter what the trail conditions are.

TOP TO BOTTOM QUALITY

The Pitch’s sure-handling Sport Trail 27.5 Geometry provides unrivaled stability.

SR SunTour XCE suspension fork keeps you grounded on the most technical trails.

Shimano hydraulic disc brakes offer best-in-class power and reliability.

  • The best mountain bikes are the ones that let you tackle any terrain with confidence. The Pitch’s sure-handling Sport Trail 27.5 Geometry is designed for ultimate stability, whether you’re railing down a flowy singletrack or picking your way through a technical section.

  • Control means keeping those tires firmly planted. That’s where great suspension comes in, like the SR SunTour XCE 28 suspension fork on the Pitch, which features a coil spring for unparalleled small-bump responsiveness. Size-specific travel (80mm or 100mm) keeps geometry and handling consistent for riders of all sizes.

  • Braking isn’t just about power, it’s about how that power is used. The Shimano hydraulic disc brakes on the Pitch feature best-in-class modulation, so you can apply exactly the right amount of stopping power, without a death grip on the lever.

Good budget build with great geometry!

Had 2020 model and with my 178cm height L size worked excellently, now on 2018 M - smaller but bought it for trail shredder project...with 120mm Rock Shox Recon fork and upgraded Spank wheels and 2x9 XT drivetrain could be very capable kinda starter hardtail. Frame holds well, dont get scared with qr hubs (or boooosting trends), the original factory hubs may get smashed but overtime upgrades canmade this very capable tool for almost every trail.

2019 pitch

served me well, had to switch out the headset to fit a tapered fork upgraded to a xt drivetrain, qr dropouts definitely hold it back but with a 130mm fork it is a perfect trail bike

Best bike I’ve ever had. Perfect for riding on the street or up in brionies on the hardest trail. Overall great bike that will last you for years. I’ve had mine for four years and still feels brand new. The chain almost never falls off unless your being stupid about it. Overall amazing bike.👍

Great for flow trails

The pitch is great through the berms and big lips. I would recommend this bike to flowy riders who like a trail with berms and jumps. While this is a good flow bike, it also handles tech surprisingly well, especially roots and rocks. Overall, I would recommend this bike to anyone but especially flow riders.

Great bike

This bike is great for only $750 I can do massive jumps and steep trails and I have no complaints I’ve been able to 25 foot jumps and it has handled them fine great for beginners and even for higher skill leveled riders with a low budget

Solid Specialized purchase as always

Purchased for my 10 year old daughter and it's going strong in its 2nd year. Love the 2x9 gears and the stock tires providing excellent shifting and traction. As a 20+ year Specialized owner I always come back based on reliability and affordability. And, I've worked in the bike industry building, repairing, and selling other brands (which I wouldn't buy). My FSR XC from 1998 still operates great serving as a backup ride option (which I've never needed).

Don't buy of you ride any type of trail. Junk!

Bought this for my 11 yo last year who I have 50% custody and it's been the absolute worst bike I've ever owned. Keep in mind, I said 50% custody so ridden pretty sparingly. Derailer has bent by just sitting the bike down multiple times, shifter completely broke.. Granted after a little spill but nothing that should break a so called mountain bike. Oh my son is maybe 90 pounds so not ridden hard at all . Now the bike won't shift correctly and it's skipping gears after I just had it fixed from the shop I bought it from. They are now telling me the detailer is garbage on this bike and I need to upgrade. This after they performed free work so they are an honest shop. My buddy had had the same bike, older version and nothing has ever broke with his 14yo beating on it. Stay away from this bike is absolutely the worst and you will spend more then if you just buy a better one getting another brand. So long specialized!

Solid bike with a decent price tag

Really good to start off with. My only complaint is the combo shifters, that kinda dissuades any upgrades. Besides that, good buy.

Really happy with this bike for beginner

I am a beginner mountain bike rider. I have ridden this bike on the street plenty of times and it is great. I just went out on the trails last weekend for the first time and had lots of fun with the bike It is super light and easy to move around on tight trails. It held up to some rough terrain. The suspension is pretty good for small jumps. No issues to report yet.

Awesome Bike

I bought this bike a couple of weeks ago and been riding pretty hard trails and this thing holds up like a beast. There definitely stuff I would like to upgrade but this is good balance for price, fun, and money!!

Good Beginner Bike!

I bought this bike in November after riding on a very old hardtail a few times. Now, after riding it for about six months, I LOVE it. Its easy to maneuver and a good learners bike. I plan on getting a full suspension bike in the future, but this one serves well for the time being and the trails I am working on.

Great starter platform

Sure, it's not top of the line. It's not built to exacting standards with the best parts money can buy. But it's also not $8k. I'm late 30s and needed to make a lifestyle change to be more active. I remembered riding bikes as a teenager and having fun, so figured maybe a bike would be a good way to drop a few lbs and have fun doing it. There are MTB trails less than a mile from the house, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I wasn't sure if I'd like it, or if I'd be able to even do it, so I didn't want to spend a bunch of cash on a bicycle. But, I got into it, and love it. I've replaced a myriad of parts to better suit me: fork, crankset/bottom bracket, cassette, derailleur, brake calipers and levers, wheels, pedals, seat post (added a dropper).... And I absolutely love it now. It's a rowdy little hardtail that's an absolute blast to go out and do stupid things on. It served the purpose for me to get back into biking after 20+ years not on a bike. It let me enjoy some time customizing something to make it my own. It helped me learn about components on more recent bikes.

I really like the specialized Pitch!

I just bought the specialized pitch in crimson red. I am not a beginner mountain biker, but I have not been biking much in the past few years and I needed a new bike. I didn't want to spend too much money, so I got the pitch. I really enjoy the bike. It works great out of the box! The fork and drivetrain are not high end stuff, but they work well. I might make some upgrades to it in the future, but I am not sure yet.

Very responsive bike!

I bought this bike and I LOVED it. It's very responsive, the brakes work like a charm and it quick and nimble around turns. My favorite hardtail ever!
