2011 Specialized Hardrock Disc 29er (Blue and White)

I scored this bike at the town's local transfer station in 2023. I found it underneath an indoor exercise bike in the metal scrap drop off location. It had a few small vines wrapped around the frame and had some light rust on the chain and cranks. I can only imagine it sat outside for a year or so. I freed it from the pile and took the orphan home and adopted it. It cleaned up nicely. I replaced the inner tubes and replaced the stock tires with REI Hurricane 29" X 2.0" street/trail ones. Rolling resistance dropped dramatically and made me happy as I typically ride streets, bike paths and occasional dirt trails. Replaced a missing shift indicator cover, added cork grips, front wheel frame and rear wheel seat post fenders, a bell and rear safety led lighting. The bike is reviewed as an excellent entry level mountain bike. For me, a curb hopper, errand runner and beach goer, I'm delighted with the find.
