FREERIDE If you ride aggressively and can have just one bike, this is it. 15 years ago, you basically had one kind of mountain bike. It did everything or, more accurately, you made it do everything. Soon enough, companies were turning out a different bike for just about every way and place people ride. This got to be kinda confusing for you and a lot of other people, so we made the SX: one bike that handles a lot of freeride things really well. Thanks to FSR suspension and relaxed geometry, the SX Trail guarantees control, even when you get in a little too deep. The key to the SX Trail's versatility is in its time-tested FSR suspension and super-dialed geometry. Relaxed angles combined with a short rear-center and a generous top tube, create a geometry that delivers a ride that perfectly balances stability and maneuverability. The result is a bike that you can (literally) throw into nearly any situation with absolute confidence.

It’s been 17 years

Back when the bike got released, couldn’t find one in my size, but then in 2009 a friend of mine found one and kept it, rode it lightly and it survived. Then in 2013 bought it from him, nearly in its stock shape. After a couple rides I found out that the fork had too simple adjustments, it’s 3rd set of brakes were on their last leg and the bars were kinda uncomfortable; so, I took on the task to refurbish it, got rid off all the Sram bits and put full Shimano drive train, a set of Raceface Evolve cranks and a 2007 Marzocchi 66 RC2X, which I reserved it specifically for the bike. Years went by and the bike remains reliable, not the most efficient pedaling machine I’ve ever had, but reasonably light and nimble. The low center of gravity and BB hight mounting chips made it easier to tune. The riding position is excellent and feels like a modern bike, too bad the Chainstay is prone to crack, so you better take good care of it, retired the bike from the hills back in 2019. Still with me.
