These really are the best tires in the game. When they are on sale it is a no-brainer 🤯 good deal. Specialized also has a great warranty and quickly replaced one of mine when I tore side knobs off without question. I fully support these tires and will certainly be buying more in the future. T9 Gripton is grippy.
When on sale best tire for the price, sidewalk., compound pretty impressive for the price.
Best tires for the price
Grip and hold the line just as well and some situations better than the higher priced brands. Best of all they are lighter in weight.
The Soil Search Series is a must have for any rider looking for best look and value. The T7/T9 rubber compounds add a nice overall grip no matter where you ride, having the soft nine at the front while in a downpour is nothing but confident & inspiring to ride off camber. Sticky Ikcy!
Just as good as the other brands but the value of Specialized tires is off the chart. I run them on all 3 of my bikes. Eliminator T7 on the back of my Levo and my enduro bike, Ground Control T7 on my trail bike and all 3 bikes have the Butcher T9s up front.
My new favorite tire! The grip is amazing, the color scheme is dope and makes me proud to purchase this Soil Searching line knowing that money will go to Trail Building! I wish they had this tire with a DH casing though. But still, it’s a great tire!
Grip and performance of this tire is wonderful, I've been riding butchers for a couple years and typically don't have any issues. However this year I have had two of these tires back to back fail with under 30 miles on one and ~100 mi on the other. Both had a side knob tear off the right side well before their useful life. One of them still has the tire mold seams still showing.
This is a great tire, excellent traction for the rocky, sandy riding in Arizona. I run Butchers on both my FS and hardtail. Love the soil searching tan walls, they look awesome!
Radical grip, full on rip!
Hard to find sold out and a great tire .
Great
I currently run the 2.3 version as a front tire. It measures slightly wider than advertised, which is fine. The grip on this tire is incredible. The nobs bite really well, and the T9 compound molds to rocks and roots nicely. Sidewall protection is pretty nice too. I would definitely buy this tire again.
Perfect grip and light
Grate front tyer. Absolutely love it. And it looks sick with the tan sidewalls.
When you need full grip, this is the one to go to.
Love these. I’ve been running them on all my bikes for 3 years now. Quality tire at a good price.
Love these tires!!they hook up amazingly as well as look sick on my new steed!!:sign_horns|type_5::sign_horns|type_5:😆😆
Got these with a set of cush core and have had nothing but success, tire definitely feels like it has more grip and I love the coloring.
super soft tread compound very similar to maxxgrip casing is on point with modern trail/enduro casings tan sidewall looks epic
Awesome grip with these tires, far better than what comes stock on the SJ, imo. I do have some questions about durability, because the first month I rode on these I had 5 flats in the rear tire, but that is probably as much related to my luck as it is the construction. Didn't hold me back from stocking up on them when they went on sale. The brown sidewalls with the green logo really look sharp in person too.
Great bang for the buck
Best tires ever.
Sleek looks and powerful grip!
fantastic tire
Best tires ever, dry, wet, rocks or roots, these tires never disappoint. I’ve had other brand name tires and these out performed and out lasted them.
I am loving my T9 Butcher and T7 Eliminators in 29x2.6. The new grip is amazing and I have more confidence in riding at higher speeds knowing I have grip and braking when I need it! The tires take some effort to install, but with any durable sidewall and casing tires, it’s worth the effort for durability and quality. Get some for yourself and you’ll know why I want to ride everyday!
Good for cornering grip. Not an XC tire.
Love these tires!!!
Great tire
excellent tire. great grip and predictability. Casing is tough as any trail/enduro tire. Price is excellent too
Great tire and a great price. Easy to install and does well on the trails.
Great tire tons of grip love it
If you’re buying the butcher / eliminator combo w soil searching tan walls just k own one is tan and one is more like the fake skin color on cpr dummies.
The Butcher is a great tire - but it comes at some costs. I opted to run the Butcher as Front [2.6] and rear [2.3] in the Trail Grid, T9. The grip is OUTSTANDING and so is the durability. The T9 rubber is DAMP and really does give that glued to the trail sensation. I felt very comfortable riding very loose terrain - from loam to loose sandy trails. If you're bike is dialed for traction, and you want to get more, get the Butcher. The Trail Grid casing allowed for me to run very low tire pressures without insets, tire roll or rim damage [I am 220# setup to ride]. The costs of such a gripper - rolling resistance is DRASTICALLY noticeable, even on the down. Both on the up and the down, these tires have a noticeable drag compared to tires of similar design from other manufacturers. The rubber is also VERY damping, and adding to the slowed roll, my bike characteristics drastically changed. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but if your bike or your style of riding is pop off everything, roll fast and don't look back... adding this tire(s) might require some adjustment to suspension setup and your riding style. Overall, the tires were awesome for the grip and ride sensation of glued to the trail. I ran these on my Norco Optic for a winter ride tire that would keep me planted to the wet PNW dirt, rocks and roots. It did exactly that, but tire and bike combo in my preference wasn't a good fit as I couldn't get the bike to ride how i like with such a damp rubber. Next winter I will opt for a 2.3 Butcher T9 [maybe T7] in the front and Butcher T7 in the rear to see I can achieve a better balance between grip, rolling resistance, and a more lively bike.
Impressive!
These tires are incredibly tacky yet responsive. The T9 is supple and grippy when ripping through turns and keeps you feeling connected when the trails get rocky and rooty. I did find the T9 to be a little too grippy as a rear tire, but that was easily fixed with a T7 Ground Control. That's another review... but long story short, I'd highly recommend both
I've done a handful of rides on this tire at the front, mostly in wet conditions with roots and rocks aplenty. This tire grips great and has plenty of support on my usual steep and chunky east-coast terrain.
They look awesome AND they grip so good. A++
