Great solid pedals
Good-better-BEST! These are the best!
The best Flats! I have 2 pair. They hold up forever! Only kicker is you have to order replacement pins through a retailer but not a huge deal.
nice studded pedals
After trying a lot of flat pedals and getting to try these out on a friends bike, I purchased a set the next day. Tons of grip and the pedal body being concave on all side cradles your foot into the pedal. Awesome design.
Excellent service and communication
So these came with my S-Works Demo 8 about 4 years ago. I had little knowledge of the prior to using. They’ve been a great pedal and taken some abuse. Eventually one of the bearings needed replacing, no problem I bought the kit which the tool is included and at a good price. I’m very happy with them.
Nice pedals... Do what they are supposed to.
Die besten Pedale die ich je hatte! Unglaublich robuste Lagerung und perfekte Verarbeitung! Der Geschmiedete Pedalkörper ist unverwüstlich! Meine absolute Empfehlung!
Excelente agarre y muy cómodos, los recomiendo
For those of you who want to service/rebuild your Specialized Boomslang platform pedals, Specialized has their Boomslang Bearing Cover Removal Tool, Service Part# S155300007, back in stock again. You can order through your local Specialized dealer for $20-25.
These pedals are nice. Probably a little overpriced for not being able to be serviced. They do not fit in XX1 arms though as there is no collar / spacer, so they tighten all the way to the arm surface and pedal will not rotate. Fit great in NX arm though.
A little pricey but worth the money
Had these just over 18 months. Great pedals loads of grip and a real low profile. Told in the shop they were easy to service. Well they would be if you could get hold of the specific tool to get the things apart. Specialized don’t sell them and everyone has sold out making them unserviceable!
Have been running these for over a year now and can't fault them. Really robust, and really really grippy. I've clipped rocks and roots with these numerous times and other than a few scratches they are still in perfect condition oh and did I mention how grippy they are. Stick a pair of 510's on your feet (other brands are available) and you might as well be clipped in. 10 out of 10.
There are a lot of great pedals out there. This is the best combo of thin and durable.

I switched to SPDs a few years ago, but had these on my first full-suspension before switching. Sadly, my husband gave away my Boomslangs when I sold the bike. I just decided to try flats again to build up skills and thought I'd go back to my original favorite. Inevitably, I came off the pedals a few times, but these stuck to my shoes like crazy, and I didn't have any pedal strikes, even through technical/rooty sections and punchy climbs. They look big, but the have a thin profile design. I am so glad I decided to get these again!
I've had 2 pairs of these. First ones were stolen with my bike. Went out of my way to get another set of the same I love them so much. Lasted 4 years with no service and finally need to service them. Amazing pedals.
Slapped these on a Chameleon for everything from DJ to Single Track to DH. These things stick to 5-10's like super glue. I swear by two things in a pedal - platforms and needle bearings instead of bushings. I just want to say the reviews about the bearings failing or creaking are likely a mistake if you've kept them greased. The trick is to install the little spacer washers that come in the package to keep about a half millimeter between them and the crank arms. The popping is actually the pedal and any trail grime grinding between the pedal and the crank arm as they rotate. Put that spacer in and you'll have dead silent smooth as butter pedals. I learned the hard way after prematurely regreasing the bearings, and the noise was still there. I supposedly wasn't supposed to put the spacer in on my setup. After regreasing didn't work, I added the spacer to experiment... jackpot... no noise and smooth cranking. Get some.

Does everything that you want in a pedal, It is a shame that they are hard to get and have not been marketed, because this pedal is awesome. Concave, spare pins, low, has 4 outer edge pins (so when they break off you have 3 spares to keep them grippy) Even payed full retail for them 2 times for both my bikes. This all comes from a traditional specialized hater.
I have used these pedals for over a year and I love the fact that they grip your shoes extremely well. So well in fact, I had to lift my foot straight up sometimes to properly disengage. I've had several strikes every now and then but that's few and between...pedals are very sturdy. The only complaint I've had about these flats is the amount of times I had to replace the bearings in them. They seem to wear out in several months or less depending on the amount of rides per month. I would have given these pedals five stars otherwise...
