The Eliminator features a new generation of tread that combines an aggressive block design with a well-balanced tread pattern. Its transition knobs help bridge the traditional channel between center and shoulder knobs, making the Eliminator perfect for enduro where versatility is key. The Eliminator still has the bite of a DH tire, but also brings the manners to handle well on hardpacked trails. These characteristics also work well for trail e-bikes, too—combining the bite needed to stay in control on the trail with neutral handling on fire roads. The new BLCK DMND casing strikes the balance between suppleness and extreme pinch-flat protection. In order to descend all-out, you need as much traction as possible. The tire needs to conform and hold on to the ground, but it also needs to protect against pinch flats. In order for this to happen, only the treaded part of the tire needs to conform, grip, and dampen, while the tire base serves up stability and support for better steering inputs. It also features our own GRIPTON® compound that maximizes mechanical grip, damps vibration, and offers unparalleled traction in either wet or dry conditions.

HEAVY!

I wish Specialized would display tech specs to help inform buyers. Info like TPI and weight should be like the bare minimum. These tires are very heavy.

Awesome grip... Won't stay sealed

So for grip, this tire is king. Hooks up in every condition. Mud, rocks, shale, hardpack, you name it. BUT... It is HEAVY, SLOW, and WONT keep inflated. The side wall are so strong, the tire will not stay inflated tubeless... Maybe I got a bum tire or maybe my rims just don't like this tire, but it will not stay inflated. No issue with Purgatory, Fast Trak, or Butcher... aside from this, it only gets 3-stars because of the crazy 1000g+ weight, high rolling resistance, and slower response and feedback... Good tire, but not for me. Def a DH or Enduro tire. Not ideal for trail riding IMO

Best rear tire I've ridden.

I live by the PMP trails in central phoenix and ride them 2-3 times a week, lots of narrow trails with sharp angular rocks and loose shale over hardpack. This 29 x 2.6 gets up on top of the sandy wash areas without sinking and grabs into the loose stuff through exiting the corners as well or better as any I've tried previously. But the Grid casing durability may be the biggest plus for me on these. I like to ride aggressively and it's unusual for a rear tire to last more than 4 months for me in those conditions without a sidewall tear. Obviously frustrating - I've had this tire on for about 600 miles and the tread still looks great, not a single puncture, and they seal up so well on a 30mm rim at 22-23 PSI I almost never even need to add air. They are probably the best purchase I've ever made for this bike.

Way better than expected

Recently bought a stumpy expert and installed a hillbilly on the front and the eliminator on the back. The tyre rolls great and hooks up on all surfaces. Where I ride on the mid north coast of NSW Australia. The terrain changes from slippery rain forest to dry pebbled loose over hard to sand and then hard pack all on the same area. So I was super impressed with this tyre. Also Spesh tyres are way small the 27.5 x2.6 tyres I bought are just smaller than the 2.35 Hans dampf, Nobby Nic combo I run on my short travel 29er. So don't let the numbers fool you these aren't big tyres but they are excellent. Definitely recommend them!!!!!!

Great Tires!

Tested these babies out in Sedona and they did great. they stuck to everything even during wet conditions. I purchased the 2.6 for F&R and they do not look wide at all. Probably due to wheel. but overall they are great!

27.5 2.8 pretty please

Love this tire as a rear, butcher in front, rolls fast, corners and stops great! Just wish the 2.8 blck dmnd was an option. Need the extra cush and sidewall for my hardtail.
