Great bike for the price

Love this bike. Very stable. Got very lucky that the bike shop had my size. Do not know if Specialize updated the newer model. But I have an aluminum frame and a carbon fork. Do not know if this comes with the newer model? Can’t beat the price .

Well rounded bike and has great value for the price.

I use this bike to cycle around my neighbourhood for fitness and to go to the store. The shifters are responsive and reliable, and I haven't had any problems with the drivetrain. Note that the front derailleur requires a hard, two click press in order to shift properly. I was worried it was broken, but having come from shimano shifters, I just wasn't used to having to press the lever all the way back. The bike is very lightweight, and rides comfortably over gravel trails and wooden bridges. The tires are too smooth to reliably climb up gravel, but if you take it slow you can make it. Besides, if I really wanted to hit gravel I'd just switch tires since the fork can take it. I was so happy with this bike that I suggested my dad get one, he got the 2.0 and is also very pleased with it. The black paint is slightly sparkly when viewed up close, and from afar it has a nice stealth look with the red highlights that make it pop.

Take care of this bike and it will serve you well.

Great bike, I see a lot of complaints about the crank falling off. This is an OLD issue and was recalled by the company... not a problem anymore. If you take some classes or watch some free YouTube videos on bike maintenance, you can learn to take care of this bike and it's ""problems"" that people complain about... just learn to take care of your bike. This bike is fantastic.

Luvin' this bike!

My crank arm came off also. The pieces were all there, re-attached 5 then finished the last 20 miles and safely made it home. The good folks at the bike store were familiar with the issue and had a tech specially trained to repair it. Took it in on Wed, home on Thur and riding the on weekend. The bike store was apologetic. I have enjoyed riding this bike so much. I re-entered the world of cycling last May, 2020. Our rides are usually in the 20-30 mile range and a mix of inclines, flat, hills and mountain. I can always find a comfortable gear in the 18 compressed combo. I am in a sunbelt state and ride year round, just sweat more in the desert heat. The tires were ""meh"", upgraded to Continental Gator Skins and no flats since. Many of my friends have taken it for a spin and love it. The best comment came from one who said ""this bike rides itself!""

Disappointed

So excited buy a new Specialized bike after years. 1st ride it felt very nice and smooth. 2nd ride on my way home from a group ride the chain broke in pieces. Took it back to the shop to get a stronger chain. 5th ride the left crank arm fell off and I tweaked my back. Found out the bolt fell off somewhere on my ride. Took bike back to shop again and it sat there for 2 weeks. I got a new bolt and within a couple rides it got loose again. I decided to put Thread Tightener on the threads. Hoping this bike holds up during future rides.. crossing my fingers

Love this bike

Having read these reviews, I made sure that the bike had the recall issue addressed. I've had the bike for over a month and am loving it. Great fast ride, responsive brakes, overall, just perfect--exactly what I was looking for.

Love this bike.

Tight, precise shifting, excellent braking and body positioning as I want. Wheel and tires aren't as light and fast as my old road bike but I expected that. It isn't why and what I bought this bike for. I enjoy the bump smoothing carbon fiber fork too.

There is a recall for a dust washer not removed.

For those that are having an issue, there is a recall for a dust washer not removed from the bike when assembly. This is causing most the issues and recommending taking it in to have this fixed. I just bought mine and they pulled mine a part to verify this and was back together in about 30 minutes.

Crank Arm Fell Off

On my third ride, the left crank arm fell off. I had no idea this was a known issue until I came to this website to look up specs! I'm very disappointed in this purchase and worry that I'm in for several other manufacturing defects.

Totally disappointed

After 2 months I had the same crank set issues of other reviewers except I took the bike back to the bike shop before the crank fell off. That's when they told me about the recall and the issue. How could this be on a supposedly high quality, high priced bike? They don't even have a fix! Left the bike at the store waiting for a fix.

Sturdy and Speedy

This is a sweet bike. Fun to ride, substantial but light. Brakes are on point, and I need that in a busy city. Love passing road bikes on it. It doesn't happen that often, but when it does, whoo!

Left pedal crank arm came off :(

Purchased this bike is month ago in May. Was performing very well until my left pedal crank arm came off in the middle of my ride. Was able to put it back on and ride it to my bike shop. Definitely a Quality concern issue at the manufacturer. Lots of negative reviews and had I seen the reviews of this issue prior to me purchasing this bike , I would have thought twice on purchasing it...

Left crank issue

Is there anybody who can recommend a remedy for this issue? Maybe a Specialized rep. could specify a check or fix in order to avoid any accidents. Thank you

Left pedal is an issue!

Left pedal fell off in first month. Had it repaired and it fell off again! Completely unacceptable! Specialized. Fix this issue!

Not a good bike.

First, the left crank came off, just like the other reviewers. The LBS replaced it with a new bike. I torqued the crank arm bolts because they were not tightened to spec. The second bike's crank has not come off ... yet. But, the bike does make rattling noises that seem to be coming from either the frame, the front wheel or the steering tube. Obviously, this model has design or production issues and I cannot recommend it.

Left Pedal arm came off for me as well

Probably 5th ride, the left pedal and arm came off as I was going up a hill and the whole bike veered left into road and went down. Luckily no car coming. The furrow and hillock system holding the left pedal shaft into the crank was stripped. I returned the bike as I don't trust the setup.

Left crank arm came off as well.

I bought this bike for my son. On about the 4th ride the left crank arm came off. The local bike shop was able to put it back. Either the design has a problem, or there's some quality control missing during assembly!

Great ride - so far! No issues...yet

I bought this because in my area, the availability of bikes is basically none because of coronavirus. There is basically no stock of the bike I really wanted - the Trek FX3 Disc. However, I was assured that this, along with the Cannondale Quick 3, are pretty good equivalents to the FX3 Disc.I've had this bike for about 4 days now. I've ridden about 27 miles, great majority on the road. It has been a smooth ride so far and seemed to perform well. The lightweight design has also been pretty great, and I'm getting some great workouts.I haven't had the issues the below users have mentioned with the left crank and pedal. I am really worried now. I also feel like I was lied to (surprise) by bike shop owners that failed to mention this. I'm going to bring this to the shop to make sure they can check for this in advance, because on some of the roads I've been riding, I could've been seriously injured.I kept looking at the comments to see if someone was astroturfing but it looks like the reviews are coming from different places.Again, I have not had these issues after 27 miles, but I'm going to the bike shop to check again.I will probably sell this and bite the loss (stupid me) once the Trek bikes get back in stock because of this stupid virus. But it's been great for me so far.

Pedal crank fell off during my ride!

I purchased this bike about 2 weeks ago. I had a great time riding it before this incident happened. This issue needs to be fixed ASAP. Thank god I wasn't riding on a busy street because that pedal crank came off pretty easily. At this moment, I cannot recommend this product.

Great bike, big problem with crank

I love the bike. It does everything I want it to. But, this problem with the left crank falling off happened to me on a ride. There's apparently a fix for it that the bike shop was able to institute but it's a dangerous issue. I don't understand why I bought it a bike shop two weeks ago with a known dangerous condition that was not addressed. Do not leave the bike shop without it being fixed!

Pedal fell off on a new bike

Agree with the previous reviewer, I was riding the newly purchased bike barely after 80km and the left pedal fell off! It was luckily during a slow ride. Service said the entire main bolt was missing- shocking to see someone with the same experience, sounds like a factory failure and recall should be considered? Apart from this the bike is great- lightweight, accurate etc

Right choice

I go on 15-20 mile rides on a regular basis mostly road with some gravel trails from time to time. This bike handles well, the stock tires have enough grip for my riding. The standard carbon fork is definitely a nice to have and even with a hybrid bike will have you flying down the trails. My only complaint is the XL frame I ordered comes with a 143mm saddle, I don't think many XL frame shoppers need a small saddle so I had to purchase a new one.

Great bike - looks great, rides better!

Went back and forth between the Trek FX3 and the Sirrus 3.0 and don't think I could've made a wrong decision. Both are fantastic bikes with similar components. The FX3 did feel a bit lighter but I chose the Sirrus because of the overall feel and honestly the look and color! My wife also purchased the Women's Sirrus and we have been riding 10 miles a day on our park trail! Great fitness bike!
