Better performance. Better value. Better Rockhopper. By tapping the fit and handling advantages of pairing each rider with their ideal wheel size and suspension that works its hardest for everyone thanks to our size-specific Rx Tune, we’ve baked in added performance to the all-new Rockhopper without dialing up the price.

Shimano and microSHIFT team up for drivetrain duties with a robust 2x8 drivetrain that can handle everything you’re throw down while confident braking from Radius CX7 mechanical disc brakes seals the deal of the century.

Amazing Ride This Thing

Been riding this Specialized Rock Hopper for a few months now both on and off road. Could be the reason that i naturally use my hands quite a fair bit and in understanding the parts how they work tinkering with boats, cars and bikes anything that moves or doesn't, very often that i find it an acceptable experience with this particular ride. Specialized is a good brand and they produce great bikes, just need to get hands dirty once in a while and sports enthusiasts wouldn't particularly mind actually as it is an integral part of the experience.

Good bike

I've had this bike for a little bit now and love it. it is very durable and rides well on the local trails. One thing I have had problems with is the mechanical brakes. You have to push really hard to even slow down. I will be upgrading to better hydraulic brakes sometime in the future. But besides that I would recommend.

Go ride a bike!

I have had this bike for 4 months now and I have ridden over 500 miles in the woods and on the trails. I'm over 200 lbs and this bike takes a beating. The brakes work as designed and expected. This bike gets me out riding and I find it to be a great value. Say hey on the trail!

Very good overall

I commute on this bike during the week, ride forest trails most weekends, and this bike is great for both. It's an entry level bike, so it's not going to handle technical trails, but it does the basics well. The brakes are comparable to other bikes ive ridden with mechanical discs. Hydraulic discs would be better obviously, but it's the entry level model. I was surprised how comfortable the ride is. The standard seat is pretty comfy for a stock seat. I'd recommend this bike as a rugged commuter, with some forest trail riding thrown in. If you're getting into serious mountain biking you would be best to look at the more expensive models in the range.

Specialized in super disappointed . Do not buy.

I've had this bike literally for less than 3 weeks . I've already gone to the shop 3 times cause of gear problems . Now today I just broke the chain . Just going up gears in a straight line . Components are the cheapest things I've ever encountered . Yeah you got what you pays for . But aren't we talking this is a Specialized bike. It's been too early too have brake problems like I've been hearing. Do not buy the entry level Specialized Do Not!!!!!

not impressed

Components on Base model are cheap. Had to replace the brakes within a month - had two encounters with trees on trails because the brakes did not function well, impossible to adjust.. Had to replace rear derailleur and chain within a couple of months. Had previous bike (different brand) for 15 years and didn't have to replace anything until about 14 years in. On the bright side, I'm really learning a lot about bike repair and maintenance.

Customer support was non existent.

I bought this as my entry into the mountain biking world and at first it was awesome. The geometry is excellent and it is a bike I would have considered upgrading. About 140 miles into riding it and the rear hub blew out on me. I tried to contact the shop I got it from and they were closed for a month so I couldn't take it there. I emailed and called specialized about it but never got an answer/response. I finally found a dealer who could do the repairs under warranty but I still lost a month of riding to a lack of manufacturer support. Other that that my only complaint is that the components used were leaving much to be desired. Maybe if I had gotten a higher end model I would have been happier but for the cost of upgrading components I decided to trade the bike in for a competitor's bike that is in the same class (but more in the rockhopper pro's price range) and has better dealer/manufacturer support. Spend the money on better components if you can but know who is going to service the bike if something goes wrong. Two stars were given because the bike has potential that I could have spent more to unlock with better components but the lack of support from the manufacturer put me in a competitor's saddle

Solid Bike

I bought this bike to get my wife into mountain biking. What a failure that was,but it has allowed me to take several friends out on the trail and they all love this bike. It is a great entry level for someone who is potentially serious about mountain biking. It is not the best, but you will always enjoy the ride. To Specialized: Send 2021 fuse comp 29 large frame to dealer in florence SC.

You get what you pay for

The old saying, ""you get what you pay for"" reigns true with this bike. Overall, the bike has a solid frame and decent geometry for low key mountain biking. Once you get into doing jumps and rock gardens is when you'll start to have issues on this bike. the spring fork is jumpy and never consistent. The 2x drivetrain is noisy but quick to shift. And the mechanical brakes are borderline non-existent. I have found myself quickly upgrading part on this bike. Overall a solid frame if you like tinkering with bikes or just starting out and doing moderate trails.

Great Bike , Great Price..

I ride this bike weekly. Avid Road bike rider and wanted a little more adventure. This bike is great. The components are comparable to an entry level MTB, anyone wanting better components pony up the bucks and pay the price. I breaks are great and stop the bike as they should. This bikes is able to keep up with the average rode rider. Don't hesitate to make the purchase. You will not be disappointed. Looking forward to riding more trails. When I out grow the components on this bike I will replace them with a SRAM group set. Keep Rolling.

Good bike iffy components

I've owned this bike since April and haven't ridden it that often. Took it into my bike shop for a tune up and the bottom bracket is completely worn out and needs to be replaced. And of course nobody's warranty covers this part on a 2.5 month old bike...
