Yep, we just re-read the spec sheet and still can’t believe it either. The Rockhopper Elite is one helluva lot of bike.

Air-sprung fork? Let me introduce you to your new friend, Judy. Discerning when it comes to your drivetrain? You’ll find no fault—and no grade too steep—with a wide-range Shimano Deore 1x10 drivetrain. Why stop there? We didn’t, in order to allow you the pleasure of stopping yourself with Shimano’s eager-to-please and oh-so-capable MT200 hydraulic disc brakes.

Each is impressive in their own right, but the magic really lies in how they all come together into a Rockhopper that serves up singletrack with a nice big side of ‘ Whoah, so that’s what a real bike feels like.’

  • A heart of gold, presented in our lightweight yet durable Premium A1 Aluminum, the Rockhopper features butted aluminum tubes in order to keep weight low and strength high, all while providing increased standover clearance, slick internal cable routing and dropper-post compatibility. With the goal of making sure that the Rockhopper offers both the best fit and best performance for every person, no matter their measure, we’ve paired each Rockhopper frame size with the optimal wheel size. The result is a Rockhopper to fit every rider and the assurance that every Rockhopper is rolling on the best-handling wheel for its frame size.

  • A breath of fresh air at this price point—and plenty north of it, RockShox’s Judy SoloAir brings air-sprung sensitivity and performance to the masses with a killer value proposition: more bang, less buck. The TurnKey damper deftly dishes out travel letting you focus on what’s ahead.

Killer Bike

Man this bike is durable and my son has loved it. Light, great brakes, and forkes are fine for a light kid.

Great components for the Money

Smooth cadillac style ride nor a non-carbon bike. my setup is not compact enough so need to make a few. changes, like shorten the neck. turn the handlebars closer. Needs a gas adjusttable fork unless your a light kid. Bottoms out easy, even on 2-3’ drops. also needs an adjustable seat. get a good one. brakes and gears are good to go. Maybe get at least one aggressive carbon wheel and some bigger tires

1 year review

I never knew how far I could get with this bike. I have replaced, upgraded, or damaged everything on this bike. I have won 1 state championship with this bike so far. I admire this thing’s capability. I have race against and beaten other riders who ride the specialized epic speed of light which is a $15,000 race bike. This thing has became a cross country beast of a bike.

Great bike

I searched and searched for a mountain bike with specific features I wanted in a bike. The Rockhopper Elite had everything I was looking for in a bike and more. It has a comfortable ride for a hardtail and handles excellent. I’m going on my second year with this bike and it still rides like It is new.

Love my Rockhopper Elite 29

I went shopping for my Rockhopper Elite 29 in December 2020 and none were in stock. So, I put $300 down at my local dealer and waited 11 months for the bike to arrive. I am so happy I was patient. I am a weekend rider and this hardtail is sooo nimble, quick and fast. The one handed Deore shifting is excellent, as the braking. I can find no issue with this bike. I highly recommend this bike. Specialized has more expensive and elaborate bike but his one hit the sweet spot

Excellent Upgrade!!

Just recently upgraded from the RockHopper Sport to the Elite and what a difference! The Elite is lighter and seems a bit more nimble to me and there's no comparison between the coil spring forks and the Judy Air Forks, WOW!! The Deore is also a fantastic upgrade. Would highly recommend this bike for any one looking to get into the sport or simply upgrading from a basic model. Well worth the investment for the price of this product. Thank you Specialized!

Rockhopper elite 2021

In my opinion the Rockhopper series of hardtails is one of the most capable bikes I’ve ever ridden. I bought a redwood colored Rockhopper elite for $1,100 dollars. To me the Rockhopper elite is much better than the Rockhopper comp. Mainly because the elite has a lot better components to offer, like the Rockshox Judy silver TK Air Fork and the tubeless ready rims and tires. For anyone who mountain bikes often almost as much as I do, going tubeless is a desired choice especially since pinchflats where quite common in my brothers Rockhopper comp that I borrowed for a few months before I got the Rockhopper elite. But anyways I also preferred the Rockhopper more than other bikes mainly because it’s more slacker and faster than say the Trek Marlin series. But for someone who rides for fun every day year-round the Rockhopper was a Great choice for someone on a budget.
