The Fuse Expert 29 thriving on the kind of technical trails that make other hardtails cry. The top-shelf Fuse Expert 29 brings all of that to play with its light-yet-burly M4 aluminum chassis and a component package that takes a beating and comes back for more.

  • 130-millimeters of plush suspension courtesy of a Fox Float 34 Rythm fork.

  • SRAM GX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain gives you single-ring simplicity yet lets you tackle big climbs without coughing up a lung.

  • Stout Trail SL wheelset is light yet fends off abuse.

Awesome bike

I have the 2021 version, a Shimano build with 2.6 Butcher and Purgatory. I'm 6'2" with 34" inseam and I have the XL. I feel like in order to write a good bike review, you gotta ride it for a couple seasons and really test how it holds up. So a few thousand trail miles later, here's my review: Awesome bike. I would not change a single thing about the geometry: it's slack enough to bomb rock garden descents, but not too slack: you can lean the bike way over in a turn, weight that front wheel, and let the back wheel drift around like a rally car. The Fuse lives for airtime and responds telepathically to how you want to touch down from jumps or drops. Most fun bike I've ever had. If it were stolen, I would cry and then go buy another one.

Very solid and sexy!

Been a great bike so far, no issues. Feels very solid. I converted it to electric, using bafang BBSHD middrive

Awesome Hardtail!

I purchased my Fuse to replace my 15+ year old Stumpjumper. I was hesitant to purchase at 1st because I wasn’t sure if I wanted a FS or Hardtail, I had no idea how my body (6’ 240lbs) would handle the Hardtail. It took me a bit to dial the tire air pressure I needed to soften up the ride. The Fork soaks everything up, the Firm setting is great for climbing up hill and soaks up the big hits in the fully open position on the way down. I converted to smaller tires to fit my XC riding style but I still have the option to change to my 2.6 tires and let it rip at the bike resort when needed. It’s an All In One kind of bike. Go get one!

Great bike, amazing service

Straight away this bike is incredible, I'm so pleased with it. Something to point out is the amazing service I received from John and Frankie at Specialized. Chatting to me on the phone about my previous Specialized bike, calling me after to make sure everything was ok with my new order, to organise delivery times and even the bike set up at home. It's rare that a company looks after a customer like this these days so thanks again. I'll be back!

Awesome bike. Sliding dropouts make

Awesome bike. Sliding dropouts make it a unique frame worth owning. Having some problems with my fox fork but not really specialized fault. If you are looking for a high end hardtail the specs on this bike will suit you well.

Insane do-it-all hardtail!

This bike is everything you could ever want and nothing less! It is worth every penny! I would recommend getting a higher rise set of bars and some downtube frame protection. Other than that the bike is ready for anything and everything you can throw at it. The frame is very light but extremely strong! I've raced it in xc races, ridden bike parks, street, and trials on this bike and it handled amazingly! 10/10 would recommend!

Best Hardtail for the gnarly rides

Turned back to Hradtails after 15 years of FS and this was the bike I picked. This bike rides super on everything from rooty rocky terrain with drops and climbs very well. Anyone that has ridden the Fuse will tell you it's a dream hardtail, especially for the price compared to boutique brands out there.

Seatpost on too short for size small.

I love the bike, however, my one issue is that the seatpost on the size small is too short. I am 5'4" (with shorter legs) which is within the recommended range for the size small. With the seatpost set to a proper riding height I am extended 1 inch past the minimum height. It's a little annoying to have to shell out the cash to replace the post for a taller one before I could even ride the bike.

Shred machine!

This bike is super capable, more then it looks like on paper. Mows the rough stuff and isn't afraid to play and turn hard. The build is great, GX drivetrain is solid and never misses a shift and the G2 brakes have awesome stopping power with good modulation. I wish it had a 170mm dropper on the size LG but that's a minor complaint. Overall a super solid bike and would not hesitate to recommend it!
