The Fuse Comp 29 punches way above its weight class thanks to a light-yet-burly M4 aluminum chassis, frame geometry that lends the bike both playfulness and capability, and parts that withstand a serious flogging.

ROWDY BY DESIGN

The Fuse is loaded with smart touches. The wide-diameter down tube boosts stiffness. The low-slung top tube improves maneuverability. And while this Fuse’s 29x2.6 tires give it a precise, nimble feel, the M4 aluminum frame is also compatible with 27.5+ wheels and tires.

PERFECTLY DIALED

If you fail to nail the geometry, advanced materials and innovative designs still amount to nothing on the trail. Fuse gets it right. The long reach gives you even weight distribution. The slack head angle lends confidence on sketchy descents. The steep seat angle makes quick work of steep climbs.

BUILT TO SHRED

• 130-millimeters of plush suspension courtesy of a RockShox Recon RL fork.

• Highlights include powerful SRAM Level disc brakes and a TransX dropper post.

• SX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain gives you single-ring simplicity and gearing to spare.

I've hammered this thing into the ground,

Can't say enough good about this bike. I've ridden it weekly, for two years now, blasted down everything from blues to double blacks. The geometry works, that's all I can say. Do you get pounded silly in the baby heads because it's a hardtail? Absolutely, but that's the fun of it. You have to pick your lines even more carefully, and the rewards pay off when you do. Can you get alot of air and clear gaps? Probably not. But don't buy this bike if that's what you want. About the components,I've had bikes with top end components for decades now, and I when I picked this bike up I scoffed at what it had on it. I thought the stuff would last maybe a season. But, to my chagrin, every single part is still on there and going strong. Not a single creak or click. I haven't touched a bearing yet. The only thing that's going south now is the rear wheel, can't keep it in true and spokes break, but it's been a valiant soldier. I love this bike.

Excelente en todos sentidos

Compré esta bicicleta desde hace más de dos años, y ha sido de las mejores que he tenido. La geometría y el tipo de ruedas, compensan y dan la maniobrabilidad y confort necesarias para ir en cualquier terreno.

Great hardtail bike!

I bought this bike early last year and love it. I found out that buying cheap bikes for trail riding is a mistake, so I immediately upgraded to this bike.

Great bike but needs upgrades for proper use

I have had the Fuse for a little over 12 months and 1000kms and absolutely love it. The bike is marketed as a enduro/hardcore hardtail and has the geometry to suit but it spec-ed with the wrong components to keep price down. I guess they figure people will upgrade to their own spec. I replaced the fork with a Bomber Z1 before the first ride, replaced the brakes with XTs after about 3 rides and the rims with Nukeproof Horizons after a few months. All the originals we not suitable for gravity riding. Now it is a weapon and is faster on green, blue and red DH runs than my Stumpjumper. The BB and drivetrain needs constant attention but thats par for the course for á bike thats used this hard.

I love this bike

My dad got this for my birthday and I love it! I've had this bike for about 10 months now and the only thing that we have had to replace is the derailer which is made of mediocre plastic, the stop on the derailer wouldn't work very well so if you are willing to spend a little bit of money the sraam eagle xx1 is probably the best bang for you buck derailer that you could get for this thing. Also, the aluminum rims will bend over time so you will want to true them every now and then. The fork on this bike is amazing. The seat-dropper also works very well. The tires on this bike are really grippy and work well on most trails. Overall this bike is amazing and should not be overlooked. You really get what you are paying for.

Great Starter Bike

I was looking for a new bike to replace my 2012 rockhopper. I wanted something that was going to be a little more fun going downhill, and more able to handle steep, chunk and small drops. This bike does that perfectly. I needed a capable bike that would not require a huge initial investment. I chose the FUSE COMP because it seemed to be a solid bike that I could eventually upgrade components over time. The weakest part is probably the Level brakes. They are the very base spec, not even Level T. At 190 lbs I definitely feel like I need a little more stopping power. Luckily the xl comes with 180 and 200 mm rotors, which is the saving grace. After 125 miles, the cable came undone from the seat post. Easy fix, but it might be a common thing with the trans x droppers. I have been very surprised and satisfied by the sx drivetrain. It has been completely reliable and shifts accurately each time. Love the 2.6 butcher/purgatory combo, enough that I will probably replace with the same instead of going with a certain yellow letter tire.... This thing just floats and carves down flowy singletrack, and is great through the chunk as well. It is very heavy. My xl is probably close to 34 lbs. It still climbs quite well despite this. This is a great bike, and loads of fun!

Outstanding Trail Bike

Super versatile and easy to have a great ride on. All the parts are pretty great for a bike this price. Wish it came in more colors though.

the rims and suspension are not good enough

firstly the frame for this bike is brilliant it's well sorted balanced and stiff. I used the bike on cross-country routes, Trails and road. the brakes drivetrain and dropper post are brilliant. it is simply Let Down by the fact that you can roll your tyres on basic cross-country courses due to the rims not being wide enough and the fact that the older design of recon fork is just not good enough due to not being very stiff and moves through the travel way too fast something like the RockShox gold 35 would have solved this problem

Great Geometry, Trash Derailleur

I bought this bike after getting back into mountain biking after an 8-year hiatus, and love the way the bike handles, and the dropper seat, but the rear derailleur has struggled right out of the gate. 3 weeks an 150 miles later, I can say that despite constant tuning, the derailleur has only let me use all of my gears on 2 rides— it's a flimsy piece of trash. I will have to replace it with a better part, and it's been less than a month. Would I recommend this bike? Yes, but be prepared to replace the derailleur immediately.

Yes. I would by this product again.

I can't say enough about the Fuse. The geometry is spot on. I ride on a daily basis and the bike is a blast every time I get on it. Unbelievable on descents with balance and stability and incredible on the climbs. You can really dial it in. Great ride around town as well. Highly recommend...

Perfect geometry

Very progressive geo create confidence and the build kit for the company is dialed for the $! 2.6 tires make it even more capable, more than just a trail bike! Cheers.

demo this one before you buy a fs bike

Outstanding. I never thought I could enjoy a hardtail this much. The geometry is spot-on without being extreme. It's fluid and responsive on trails and I'm climbing sections I've never cleared before. The Specialized 2.6 tires are outstanding (why would anyone ride anything but a 2.6 on a trailbike?}. I demoed several carbon fs bikes before deciding on the Fuse--none of them were as fun on the flow trails I ride.I got the Fuse as an affordable trailbike before I decided on a new fs, but I may just stick with the Fuse. Most fun factor of any bike I've ever ridden. And it's metal! Aluminum and hardtails are still real.

Amazing Bike

Specialized's recent updates to the Fuse's frame design and geometry have taken this bike's performance to another level. It's highly versatile and a blast to ride on a huge range of terrain, and the long and slack treatment has made it more capable and comfortable at speed and when the going gets rough. It climbs as well as any hardtail with plus-sized tires and comes with a serviceable build kit that includes aggressive rubber and a dropper seat post.
