Great price, quick delivery
I've been using these now for 3 weeks (approx. 230 miles) and am very impressed so updated to 5 stars. I'm using these 100% on the pavement, so cannot attest to off-road use, but for pavement use this is a great tire. There is some road noise (but very little) from the knobby tread pattern, but I do not notice any rolling vibration at all (unlike original knobby tires that came on the bike). I don't think I could get a smoother or quieter ride unless I went to a standard street tire. The tire measures almost 2. 00" exactly from outside the sidewalls and about 2. 08" if you measure outside the knobs. I'm keeping these at 50 PSI (the max. pressure allowed per the actual tire sidewall rating) and my bike (2004 Hardrock Sport w/ front suspension) handles great on pavement and is responsive and smooth riding. And if I want to go off road I still have that option with these tires also. I'll probably buy another set for back-up, as decent 26 inch x 2. 0 MTB tires are not easy to find anymore.
I just got a set of these for a 2003 Specialized Hardrock Sport front suspension mountain bike that had SPECIALIZED ENDURO 26x2.0 tires as original equipment which lasted me 21 years, estimated 3,000 miles (bike was unused for a few years). I would have kept using the original tires, but the sidewalls had a few cracks. Okay so for these new HARDROCK R "26X2.0" TIRES: Good: 1. Made in Viet Nam, which to me is a better option than some other foreign countries. 2. I do almost 100% pavement and these have a good center set of knobs placed close together which should help these last a long time. They roll pretty quietly, and vibration from the knobby tread is almost nil. Not so good: 1. Max. inflation pressure stamped on the sidewalls is only 50lbs. Website says 65lbs. 2. My new tires have small intermittent areas of casing threads visible inside each tire. I called SUPPORT and sent a pic they said 100% normal, so I am using these.
I don't think I ride that hard but I've torn the sidewall in two of these in just over a year of riding. I've put about 300 miles on them.
Bought a pair for my daughter’s mountain bike, I like the aggressive tread, she will enjoy the “feel” of these. Would like to know more about the puncture resistance, just for my information. Thanks.
Actual riding experience on mountain bike trails (DTE Michigan) these tires give good grip, climbing, cornering, braking. Solid grip, no washing out or surprises with loss of grip.
I live off grid about 12 miles from town, and have been using these on my electric mountain bike. Love them! I haul packages like groceries home, and they're holding up really well, not a lot of wear. Had an unlucky side wall slice probably from a sharp rock? Otherwise they're doing great! Replaced the sliced tire, then went on a mini road trip, 2 days of 100 miles each. Now they're broken in a bit! haha Definitely Recommended!
My girlfriend and I managed to ride through a patch of goatheads growing onto Gene Autry trail (mostly cement bike path). I pulled no less than 25 goatheads from each tire on my bike with well used HardRock'rs and only slightly fewer on my girlfriends bike, with new CST Heathens. Her tires were flat in minutes as we started to walk to the car. I figured mine would both be flat in the morning. The next morning I replaced both tubes in her CST tires. My tires were still inflated, neither was flat - I'm simply amazed. I know what tires I'm buying from now on...
These tires are great for so many reasons. They are very strong and can take a seriously jagged rock which overall is why I got them. They are super thorn-resistant, I even ran over a sharp tac, it stuck in the tire but didn't go through so in that sense they are great. However, the downfall of this tire is the grip is pretty bad. I actually think it grips 3/5 over-packed in the dirt. 5/5 on black top, 3/5 on regular cement. They slide okay on packed-in dirt, they grab loose dirt really well, and they don't fling a huge amount of water and dirt which is nice. They are fairly lightweight so that's a bonus and cheap. The tread run out from the factory was a little all over the place. The center seam was not perfectly symmetrical meaning the tire didn't line up with itself all the way through which is a 0/5. I will not try them again because of that. One of the two tires shouldn't have passed quality control. Had they both been perfect they might have gained another star.
Nothing new to report on Hardrock'R Tires. Tread should be resistant to thorns due to thickness. Need to mention the thickness, or thinness, of the sidewalls though. Rides great for a chunky tire tread, smooth and quiet.
Specialized Hardrock'R are better than my previous brand of tires (Size: 29x1.95), quieter, better grip on any surface, chunkier (Size: 29x2.0) along with Specialized Thorn Resistant Tubes. A sidewall thickness (or thinness) may cause a sidewall "blossom" with impact.
Specialized Hardrock’R tires are better than my previous brand of tires (29x1.95), quieter, and chunkier (29x2.0), with better grip on any surface. Also got a set (26x2.0) for my cross-country bike along with Specialized thorn resistant tubes. Only noticeable difference is the thickness (or thinness) of the sidewalls which ripples until tire pressure is added. May cause "blossoms" with impacts to the sidewalls.

perfect AT tire for my 90s Hardrock ATB.
Great tire for the money. ISeems to do everything well!!
The tire fit pretty well and has very good compound compared to my old set Well worth the money for 14.99
Pneu excelente porém tanto para asfalto quanto para terra. Pena que não chega mais aqui no Brasil para aro 26!!! Seria possível voltar o fornecimento para aro 26??? Grato!
I'm really happy with my tires. Good grip. I ride on paved roads, gravel roads, and off road. I feel comfortable on all of them. I like these tires and would buy them again. Quick to send as well. thanks you.
Easy to install great traction and ride.
26” tires and tubes are becoming harder to come by. Easy to navigate website. Excellent service - delivered 3 days after order.
Perfect fit and great traction.
Great replacement for my 2011 Hardrock bike.
Still the very best 26" tire for the price.Trails or casual riding.
Good replacement option for original tires on our Specialized Tandem.
Great all around tire excellent value
I've got over 6000 mi. on my last set of these tires. The knobbies are worn down, but they still are very resistant to punctures and roll well. They are not foldable, but one thing I really need and appreciate, is how well they fit my rims. Many times, with wire-bead tires, it can be difficult to take the tire on and off the rim and as I live in an area that has lots of goat-head thorns, being able to do that on the side of a trail, with minimal equipment, is very important. I have never had a problem with these tires and I'm on my 3rd set. They are also very predictable on all types of surfaces, dirt, sand, gravel or street, wet or dry and breaking is also good on all these surfaces. Highly recommended, if ultimate performance (Weight, mostly.) is less important than cost, durability, puncture resistance and good overall performance.
I bought three pairs of these kind to be sent to my home country as a gift to my nephews. I bought one for my bike here in california and the quality is excellent, the reason why i chose these tires as replacement for their bikes. Thank you.
I was skeptical at first due to the cost but this tire rides well, grips really good on loose dirt and gravel...Will buy again when needed
Awesomely tires perfect for on and off trail exactly what I was looking for replacement tires for my 2006 rockhopper. Thanks
Replaced OEM Bontrager 26x2.0 rear tire on New Trek 820 with one of these to improve traction on variety of unpaved trails. Have ridden approximately 100 miles total since upgrading rear tire. Approximately 60% unpaved trails & 40% paved bike paths, sidewalks, or roadway bike lanes.Greatly improved traction on gravel, soft dirt, and some loose dry sand intervals while performing just as well as OEM Bontrager on paved intervals ...Did add kevlar type tire liner to improve margin of safety wrt thorn type tire puncture hazards, etc. Too soon to evaluate overall durability ....? So far ... So good !!
These tires are sure-footed in sandy conditions. Perfect for the desert riding I do. These are used on my low-budget bike (old fully rigid mountain bike). The Hardrock'r tires fit the theme of that bike: low-cost and capable.
Awesome good one wet terrain
This tire glides amazing on road. The problem with this tire is the side wall is too thin to be considered a true hybrid. The side wall ripped way too easily. I was stranded 10 miles from home.
Yes, I could use new tires, but these have lasted over 2 decades, going through 5 years of being ridden every day (West Lafayette rain/snow/etc) as a commuter. I don't know enough to speak to the performance aspects, although I always got great traction. I'm here because after all this time the sidewalls are starting to look worn. Not sure if the specs have changed, but I'd buy these again in a heartbeat.
This is the single best All AROUND MTB tire I've ever used From the road to serious mountain biking it gets excellent traction
