Great but just one small tweak.

These are really great in the mid 40 degrees for me. The phone connect points work well. Unfortunately the thumb is noticeably webbed from not being cut long enough on the index finger side. I typically find Specialized gloves to be cut really well bit these are off for me. For anyone used to wearing technical gear this is not optimal. In comparison, the Black Diamond ultra thin glove liner is cut perfectly. Size XL. Keep up the great work Specialized and thanks for an excellent product.

    Good & Not Good

I've worn these more than 6 times now and hand 2x, machine washed 2x. Good: fit, quality and overall design I like the cuff design a lot! Not Good: they leave black fingerprints on EVERYTHING, even taking off my white Evade helmet at the end of rides leaves black marks. All my light switches have black marks too, sigh. I don't "run cold" so I was surprised that my hands got uncomfortable when wearing at 45-47f. If they had just a little more wind resistance this glove would be so good for San Francisco "winters" and I'd purchase 6 pairs!

    Fall riding gloves

These gloves are great for late fall (50-30 degrees) riding. Have done a few longer 2. 5hr rides with these under freezing and by the end my fingers were cold. I would recommend these for long rides above 40 or shorter rides around freezing. Build quality is great so far.

    Great for the use case

The bulk of my winter riding is high 40s to low 50s when I'm starting out, and warms up to 50-60F. I wanted something to take the sting off of the first 30 minutes of the ride and so I bought these. I put them on in the beginning when I'm warming up or pull them back out for a descent of more than a few minutes. They're great for this. I wear XXL in the fingerless gloves and I own XXL in these gloves and I pull them on over my fingerless gloves, no problem. They are also packable enough that they take up less than half of a pocket on the back of my jerseys. I'd say if you're doing only medium intensity rides in the low 40s and down these are probably too thin. Also, everyone runs differently (hot/cold) so factor in your physiology. I'm one of those that slowly freezes when sitting still and starts roasting when I'm doing high output activities.

    Disappointed

Calling these thermal seems to be a bit of a stretch. Ride temps were 44-48 degrees F and these were barely better than short finger gloves, i. e. my fingers were frozen. Also impossible to remove without them going inside out so it takes 5 minutes to get them ready to put back on, don't plan to pull one off at a stoplight and get it back on quickly. Have had them for 2 weeks and already shopping for their replacements.

    1 year winter riding

my go to glove at 55-60F and dropping. my other winter gloves are too bulky. getting more cold outside, slip the overly expensive thin thermal liners on and I'm good. one caveat, i'm old, so at 34F with wind chill. i think the coldest I've ridden is 28F and hands with this glove and liner were ok. that's all i can attest to.oh yeah, additional adequate clothing and calories help also.
