Nice short but too small

I have a 44" hip. I am at the top end of large and the bottom end of XL. I decided to choose the XL, and they are very snug and definitely not a "relaxed fit. " I'm super disappointed with the fit. I won't be able to use them as overshorts. The little holes on the inner thigh (not mentioned in the description) are just weird. At first, I thought it was a problem with manufacturing, but no, they are intentional, and there are little pink spots where my skin shows through. And, because the shorts are tight, the holes are really noticeable. Like I said, "weird". Other than the issues mentioned above, they seem like a well-made short and would be awesome if they fit.

great short

Very comfortable, perfect fit. Materials seem to be good, very practical pockets.

Not quite long enough, and limited color choices, but otherwise great shorts.

If these shorts were two inches longer, they would be perfect. Light and stretchy but durable fabric, excellent deep pockets, genius waist adjustment that adds no bulk, and cool zipperless fly. Slim fitting, so probably not a good choice for pear or curvy shapes. The small fits me just right (5'6", 116 lbs). More colors would be nice. I actually prefer the regular Trail shorts, which are longer but otherwise have similar features as the Trail Cargo shorts and slightly (very slightly) heavier fabric.
