Superb first Fully

Bought this superb bike new in 2014, my first Fully at 14 kg. It has seen a lot and endured a lot, but I still have it as a spare. Upgraded to a 1 x 11 sram, XT brakes and X-Fushion dropper 170mm. Still rides like a dream. Now riding a Carbon Comp from 2019 140mm suspension, with DT Swiss 1200 wheels, only 11,5 kg. My son rides a Carbon Comp from 2013, with lot's of upgrades as well. Stumpjumper FSR is the perfect All Mountain/Trail bike.

Stumpjumper Elite FSR 2014 is brilliant

Back in 2020, I bought one 2nd hand. Within a day of tweaks and servicing - bike rode like new. It is a fantastic climber - 29" wheels give it a cross country bike feeling when going uphill, and the three position lock command post makes it easy to alter between different terrain steepness. 2x10 gives you plenty of options for various situations, and is most suitable for trails, less for straight road with no obstacles. When descending, there is so much room for rear shock adjustment - the combo of Brain and shock sensitivity might be a bit overwhelming at first, but once you learn how to dial it properly, it gives a feeling of riding on clouds. The 130mm of travel is just enough to give you leverage over gaps and jumps and forgive your mistakes on gnarly terrain. I would definitely recommend this as first full suspension bike for any rider who plans to invest only once in a couple of years - definitely worth buying!
