2020 Sirrus X Comp Carbon – Men's Spec

This has been amongst the most versatile bikes I have owned. I've used it for both gravel roads and road riding. It works well in both applications. The seating position is pretty comfortable and the bike rides and handles great. It's incredibly lightweight. I'm not sure if I'd spring for the Carbon if I had it to do over again. I worry about how it will hold up in the long term, but so far so good. I have recently installed dry tech fenders (required modification, they were not plug n play) as well as some roadsport tires. These changes have made it a bit more efficient but the stock tires were more comfortable (probably due to dropping down to a 700x35 tire vs 700x38). The shifting is a little slow, I'm not sure if that is just because of the components used. Overall it's definitely a great everyday bike and a good commuter, just think you're better off skipping the Carbon frame.

I'm a former athlete. Still ride a lot of MTB. Sold my road bike and haven't looked back! 90% of what my road bike could do...about 25% of what my MTB could do. For the bumpy beat up streets and occassional paths, this is awesome. Really the ultimate gravel bike. So COMFORTABLE. Added the CGR style seat post and I have a mini full suspension bike. Between comfort and speed, I have increased my riding and distance over road bike. Less fatigue, more riding. Amazing job...can't wait for an S Works version!

Been riding it for about six months. Great bike, light, fast, holds its own on gravel as well as on paved roads. Relaxed riding position. Frame, wheels, drivetrain and brakes are very good. All the other components are what you can expect for a bike at this price range (changed/upgraded them all by now). Bottom line: this is a fun bike !

Since I only ride road, I changed the tires to 700x28c and these are great for road riding. The shifter is substandard in that you can only use your thumb for both up shifting and down shifting. Changed to SRAM NX 1x11 Grip Shift and this is much better. Low gears are just right for hills but the high gear is one short of being fast enough on down grades. Impossible to find Fitness bikes with the low end gears as in the past. This bike is the only one I have found that has the wide range and having only one shifter is a dream!

Love this bike, seemingly strong value and performance. Just bought on Sunday (yesterday) and rode today. Loved the ride over pavement, hard packed dirt roads and some small stretches of sand and gravel. All was good until I rode home and discovered that front brake tube rubs against head tube. Tube paint is scratched from rubbing dust but more importantly, the brake tube won't last long at this rate. I wrapped it in electrical tape when I returned but shouldn't have to do this before each ride!?! Now feels like I bought a bust. Specialized should change tube outlet angle or supply a bushing over troublesome area.

I had a 2016 Sirrus Comp for road and gravel and really liked the idea of the 1x11. After a test ride on the Sirrus X, I was sold. The geometry was improved and the shock integrated in to the handle bar took it over the edge. I sold the old Sirrus and rode off on the new X. With the 38 tires and some shock absorption in the handle bars, I've ridden this bike on some of the mountain bike trails and single track dirt I would usually ride with my full suspension bike. So far the only downfall is the crankset. I have had it come loose twice in the 2 months since purchase. I will take it back to the dealer to have it checked out.

The Sirrus X is just a really fun bike. In my eyes it is essentially a flat-bar gravel bike. It rides incredibly well with the future shock, carbon frame, and 38c tires. The flat-bars give more control over the bike and put you in a more neutral position, which I like (probably because I come from a mountain biking background). The purple finish is awesome in person, but subtle enough that it wont attract un-wanted attention if locking up the bike. The stock 660mm handlebars were a bit narrow for my taste so I went with some 750's, the stock length cables and brake hose were all long enough. I love the 1x11 drivetrain, the clutch in the Sram NX rear derailleur keeps the bike nice and quiet when riding rough terrain. I use the bike for a little bit of everything: training, commuting, getting around my college campus, cruising greenways, and riding some gravel and singletrack as well.

Love the Sram X 1x11 drivetrain. The gears are spaced logically and seldom do I wish for a cog that isn't there. I do wish the bike was geared lower. Where I ride is very hilly and the steep grades are a definite struggle. My dealer is ordering a 34T chainring to replace the standard 42T. This is my first bike with disk brakes and they are amazing. Very smooth and responsive. Geometry of the bike seems perfect for an old codger like me with a comfortable upright riding position. Don't miss the drops at all. Handling is superb and the 38mm tires are free rolling on pavement but provide excellent grip on the few boonie excursions I've attempted. Love the bike, love the drivetrain and love Rock Creek, my dealer. My only issue is the gearing which is way too high for me. And oh yeah, the Purple finish is outrageous!
