Sorry, rough roads. Up until now, you've challenged only the bravest of riders to travel over you, but with the Future-Shock-Equipped Roubaix Expert with Shimano Ultegra Di2, the "road less traveled" is now the "fun way home."

The super-light frame has been constructed from our FACT 10r carbon fiber. Its stiffness levels are also off the charts, and compared to the SL4 iteration of yesteryear, you'll experience a whole new, faster, and more efficient geometry. Through some engineering sorcery, however, we've managed to keep the same fit, feel, and position that we've all come to love from the SL4, and kept it consistent throughout the size-range due to our Rider-First Engineered™ construction.

Of course, you're probably thinking, "get on to the suspension thing up front." We call it Future Shock, and essentially, it's a piston in the head tube with 20mm of travel. We developed this technology in partnership with McLaren Applied Technologies, and the result of this are a host of drastic performance improvements, namely in the vertical compliance department. Without giving a physics lecture, we found that focusing on vertical compliance, instead of fork splay, meant that we could improve smoothness, speed, and comfort in one fell swoop. And of all the bikes that we've tested with our Rolling Efficiency Model, the Roubaix outperforms anything on the market.

This Roubaix Expert comes equipped Shimano's latest Ultegra 8050 Di2 shifting, hydraulic 8070 disc brakes, and hand-built Roval C38 carbon fiber wheels.

  • Features our Rider-First Engineered™ design that ensures every frame size has the same legendary responsiveness and smooth ride quality that you'd expect from a Roubaix. The FACT 10r frameset holds its own with our highest-end carbon offerings, with the ideal blend of light overall weight and targeted stiffness, while the all-new Future Shock "suspension" system at the cockpit delivers a revolutionary degree of comfort and control.

  • Shimano's new Ultegra Di2 with hydraulic disc brakes not only offers exceptionally smooth and crisp shifts, but it also provides incredible stopping power and modulation.

  • Yep, that's right—carbon wheels on an Expert-level bike. The Roval C38 Disc carbon wheels bring performance to the masses. They're lightweight, durable, and ready for just about anything.

Second Roubaix I've owned

I previously owned a 2014 Roubaix SL-4 with Ultegra 11 speed and alloy rims with the Zertz inserts in the frame and forks to smooth the ride.I really enjoyed the ride and fatigue reduction of the bike and loved the bike. I put over 7000 miles on the bike riding in Florida on fairly smooth but hot roads. I was contemplating upgrading to a carbon wheelset or a new bike purchase. With the sale price of the 2019 models still in stock and having my size, I just traded it in on the 2019 Roubaix expert with the Roval 38 carbon wheels and the ride is phenomenal, I thought the gains would be marginal in comfort with the future shock system. The comfort of this bike is far better than the old Zerts system, well worth the investment of a bike upgrade. I put over 100 miles on my first week with the bike, which is higher than I usually average, just due to the comfort, speed, and smooth ride. I am 54 years old, 5'8"", 185 lbs. and ride a 54"". I'm not a lightweight by any means, and my LBS installed the heavy spring, which works perfect for me. I also got the light and medium springs to work with, but with the ride quality I have, I'm leaving it as is with the current set up.

Comfortable smooth endurance road bike.

The Roubaix Expert is a very nicely optioned bike. It is very comfortable and smooth riding. The future shock does get some getting used to and convincing your self you are not loosing any power with it. The bike's sweet spot is between 12 to 22 MPH and is comfortable for short rides with some friends to ticking off a century on the weekend. If you live or ride hilly areas a Tarmac might be a better choice, almost as comfortable and smooth but more apt to engage and carry more speed on hilly rides.
