Yep, we just re-read the spec sheet and still can’t believe it either. The Rockhopper Elite is one helluva lot of bike.

Air-sprung fork? Let me introduce you to your new friend, Judy. Discerning when it comes to your drivetrain? You’ll find no fault—and no grade too steep—with a wide-range Shimano Deore 1x11 drivetrain. Why stop there? We didn’t, in order to allow you the pleasure of stopping yourself with Shimano’s eager-to-please and oh-so-capable MT200 hydraulic disc brakes.

Each is impressive in their own right, but the magic really lies in how they all come together into a Rockhopper that serves up singletrack with a nice big side of ‘ Whoah, so that’s what a real bike feels like.’

  • A heart of gold, presented in our lightweight yet durable Premium A1 Aluminum, the Rockhopper’s butted aluminum frame features hydroformed top and downtubes in order to keep weight low and strength high, all while providing increased standover clearance, slick internal cable routing and dropper-post compatibility.

  • With the goal of making sure that the Rockhopper offers both the best fit and best performance for every person, no matter their measure, we’ve paired each Rockhopper frame size with the optimal wheel size. The result is a Rockhopper to fit every rider and the assurance that every Rockhopper is rolling on the best-handling wheel for its frame size.

  • The Rockshox Judy TK brings size-specific travel to the show in a performance that’s sure to impress, ensuring consistent geometry and handling, regardless of frame or wheel size.

  • Shimano hydraulic disc brakes pack a mean bite but deliver their power with a refined, intuitive feel to make for a package that punches way above its pay grade.

  • Keep things simple with a durable 1x11 Shimano Deore drivetrain that offers plenty of range along with a clutch-equipped rear derailleur that keeps your ride quite—and your chain on.

  • Pair dead-reliable hubs from Formula with our 25-millimeter internal diameter, hookless Stout rims for a wheelset hat-trick: strong, light and durable.

One test ride and I bought it.

I've owned numerous mountain bikes over the years, but never had a Rockhopper. Oh, what I have missed. This bike is fantastic. My balance and agility on this bike seem to be enhanced. I couldn't be happier especially and that I didn't spend a ton of money on it, makes it all the better. Now I understand why most of the reviews are 5/5 stars.

Amazing bike & quality

Super light, is a beast on the trails and the air fork is worth it’s weight in gold. The brakes are ridiculously strong, the oak green/sage green looks amazing, the shifting is quiet and quiet

Choosing the Rockhopper Elite over the Expert model was a decision I don't regret.

The Rockhopper Elite delivers an exceptionally smooth ride with its well-designed frame and geometry. The Shimano components, including the drivetrain and hydraulic disc brakes, perform flawlessly, ensuring seamless gear changes and reliable stopping power. Opting for the Elite over the Expert model was a wise decision, as it offers excellent value for the price. The lightweight aluminum frame is both durable and agile, while the sleek design adds to its appeal. Overall, the Rockhopper Elite is a top-tier mountain bike suitable for riders of all levels. With its impressive performance and reliability, it guarantees an exhilarating experience on any terrain. Highly recommended !

Bought this over the Expert. Not disappointed.

Love it! I was looking to upgrade from my hybrid bike to a mountain bike for a little more versatility. I chose the Elite over the Expert after watching various YT reviews comparing Shimano components of the Elite vs. SRAM on the Expert. I have only good experiences with Shimano in the past. Well built, reliable, easy to service so went with that. I was not disappointed on this bike. Also, moving from mechanical disc to hydraulic is a revelation. This bike shifts quickly and quietly, brakes with authority and feels of one piece. Well made, nice to look at and feels like quality that will handle whatever I can throw at it. Will probably add a dropper post in the future, but for now very happy with my purchase.

Coolest color ever.

I love the sage green/oak green color. You can do add tan wall tires on this bike and it looks FIRE. I have not had much problems with the shimano but I might upgrade the shimano. Overall I love racing this bike and I most definitely recommend it.

I'm a 58 years old female. I've been mountain biking for 30 years. What a treat! I don't have to think about shifting gears. Going up hills is so effortless. I could use one more gear going on the pavement. Cleaning is so much easier.

Good beginner/intermediate xc bike

Bought this bike because it was what they had in stock at the store and I wasn't disappointed. Climbs really well and the 100mm fork in the front provides plenty of squish to make your decent comfortable. My only complaint about this bike is the tires and rims that it comes with. I've had two experiences where the bead has popped on my rear tire and one of them was during a race. But for its price point, it's a really good bike.

Good beginner hardtail

This bike is a really good entry point for getting into the sport. I’m upgrading from an offerup bike with 26” wheels and an awful suntour coil fork. The difference between the two bikes is night and day. Confidence on the trails is much higher and my times are WAY down. You get bang for your dollar with a lightweight aluminum frame, hydraulic disc brakes, clutch on your drivetrain, 1x chainring, and RockShox Judy air fork. As good as the bike is, the internal diameter on the rim is 25mm, has QR hub, and the brakes could use a bit more bite. I’m saving the bougie upgrades for a custom build in the future. This is a fun bike to ride though and it gets you out of the house with some modern tech that inspires confidence. Worth the money. Get a Rockhopper Elite!

The bike and service are

The bike and service are exceptional. Specialized also worked with their local dealer to make the process seamless. I reviewed products in the store and on-line. When the store did not have the bike I wanted, they helped me order it on-line. The bike arrived at the store in three days, was assembled, rough-fitted (mountain bike) and delivered the same day. After my first 100 miles, I could not be happier.
