The Fuse Comp 29 punches way above its weight class thanks to a light-yet-burly M4 aluminum chassis, frame geometry that lends the bike both playfulness and capability, and parts that withstand a serious flogging.

ROWDY BY DESIGN

The Fuse is loaded with smart touches. The wide-diameter down tube boosts stiffness. The low-slung top tube improves maneuverability. And while this Fuse's 29x2.6 tires give it a precise, nimble feel, the M4 aluminum frame is also compatible with 27.5+ wheels and tires.

PERFECTLY DIALED

If you fail to nail the geometry, advanced materials and innovative designs still amount to nothing on the trail. Fuse gets it right. The long reach gives you even weight distribution. The slack head angle lends confidence on sketchy descents. The steep seat angle makes quick work of steep climbs.

BUILT TO SHRED

Seriously fun

My Fuse Comp 29 replaces a 2012 Camber 26”. Although going from a dually to hard tail looked like a backward step on paper, this bike is nailing it! The group set is solid, the fork a great match to the frame and the 2.6” tyres have a ton of grip. Couldn’t be happier.

Outstanding Hardtail

I've had so much fun on this thing over the last 7 months. It's handled every type of trail South Wales has to offer from blue to black. I have the rear wheel set to the shortest length and the bike feels very playful and fast. As other review has said though the bolt for the cranks is awful. Tried to fix it but I think a new crankset or BB is needed. Also for the price there are better spec bikes out there like the orbea laufey h10 and merida big trail 6. But I believe the fuse frame is a thing of beauty, a few more upgrades on fork and brakes in the future and it will be perfect

Great but one minor flaw

Very happy with my purchase, unfortunately because of covid ended up spending more than when I ordered it. As mentioned in other reviews the crank bolt is lousy. The bike shop secured it with red locktite, needless to say it was impossible to get off without stripping the head. Ended up replacing the cranks. Reached out to Specialized but they wanted me to take it to the shop I bought it at which was over 1.5 hours away and wasn't possible. Other than that the bike has been great.

One serious hardtail!!!

My riding buddy was nice enough to let me borrow his hardtail while my Santa Cruz Hightower LTC was in the shop getting a transmission overhaul. Due to Covid the shop was backed up in service for about a month and I got a lot of riding in on the fuse at that time. This thing should be called the goat. With 130MM Travel in the front fork and easy shifting of the gears I realized this bike was a blast to ride. A very fast/capable mountain bike. Well I got lucky and my wife surprised me for Christmas with you guessed it.. a Specialized Fuse Comp in Smoke gray and black set up. Will have to make a stem adjustment and handlebar with rise upgrade to make the front end a little more comfortable for my geometry and I will be good to go. Can't wait to get on the trails and shred with this beast. Great job Specialized in making an awesome hardtail. I highly recommend to any riders out there.. rent this bike and give it a go...Absolutely fantastic bike.

Giddy Up!

Purchased this bike on 4/7/21 and over the past three months I have ridden 9 days at Highland Mountain Bike Park in NH, 2 days at Thunder Mountain Bike Park in MA, multiple days at a pump track, ridden 20-30 mile rail trails, multiple days at the Middlesex Fells Nature Reservation in MA. I grew up on a BMX bike hitting dirt jumps, COVID inspired me to get back into biking at age 33, I love this bike but I want more, I have dropped in from height and hit large jumps on this bike. Upon landing I have left all reflectors on the trail, charged some chunk although as common sense would say, that is not the best experience on this bike. Another rider at a Mountain Bike Park looked at me and said ""A Hardtail! Good Luck with that!"" I laughed back and said there is no luck involved with a hard tail, it's a skilled man's sport. That being said this bike has made me a better rider and I love this bike for that, the fuse comp has really allowed me to focus on lines and where my wheels are on the trail or even more important when in the air, I love this bike, it has proved durable, and feels very fast when descending on flow trails. If you are into downhill mountain bike parks and leaving the ground which this bike led me to find out, I am into that, you will want more. If you are into chunk and tech trails this is not the bike for you. It will be nice to have this hard tail for local trail riding and a Enduro bike for the down hill mountain bike parks. If you are new to riding this bike is also for you.

So fast, so fun

I've had my Fuse for about 2 months now, and I am very happy with it. Descending, this bike is confidence inspiring and FAST. Climbing I don't feel like I'm moving as quickly as on my older XC focused bike, but strava says otherwise. That's not to say the bike doesn't climb well - it just isn't lighting as much of a fire. The 2.6 tires feel like a different world, and I'm really enjoying the extra compliance. I did buy the PNW Range bar and stem. The stock setup had me feeling like I was hunched too far over the front end. The 30mm rise on the PNW bars helped a lot, and the new stem made the reach just a bit longer. For me, these ergonomic changes made the bike feel even more dialed. I am 5'11 and 175 lbs and I purchased a large. I ride technical trails in western MA with some long climbs and rocky/rooty descents. The Specialized Fuse is an amazing trail hardtail!

Almost perfect bike

'21 fuse comp 29er in red, love the colour and all spec, I'm so happy every ride well almost ;) paintwork should be more scratch resistant, I mainly ride trails but there's already lots of marks and stone chips, bike becomes noisy under saddle and took me a while to find but bit of lube fix this. Geometry is superior, gears so smooth, dropper seatpost can be tricky sometimes, brakes brilliant and tires jus awesome, I switch from carbon vitus Sommet which had same geometry. Looks amazing compared to competitors. Very recommended!!!

Great bike. Just go buy it.

I have about 600 miles of hard trail riding on this thing and I couldn't be happier. Soaks up the bumps and inspires full confidence. I've done everything from XC racing to black trails most wouldn't dare to do on a hardtail. No problems other than a faulty stock dropper post, but I took that to a Specialized dealer and had a new, better dropper post installed within 30 minutes, all for free under warranty. Seriously, you could crash this thing real hard and the only thing that'll happen is that the seatpost might be slightly off center. I can't stop smiling while flying down a trail. Only thing that'll hold you back with this bike is yourself.

Could not be happier with this bike!

Now that I have a few hundred miles on this bike I give it 5 stars! I'm 6'4"" and 220 pounds and the XL fits like a glove. For my riding style I could not be happier with this bike. The Gloss Red Tint make for a great look!! Thanks!!

Sliding rear dropouts/Thank you

My 2021 is in Satin Black and now has a matching Whisky No.9 Lt Boost rigid carbon fork and a SS rear. No thanks to Shimano micro-spine... they dont offer SS parts, so I had to build a wheel set too. Not Specialized fault... Shimano's fault. Stans No-Tubes Flow MK3 to the rescue. Its like my 2015 Specialized Crave SL 29, but on steroids and a dropper post. Super light now and super simple. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for the sliding rear dropouts.

A welcome upgrade

Loving my '21 Fuse Comp 29. Had been riding a modified 26er Spesh HardRock Sport and still love that bike, but the Fuse is way more capable on burlier features and other trail obstacles. Smashes through roots and rock gardens no problem. Climbs like a goat. The wide Butcher/Purgatory combo has sold me on Spesh tires while I appreciate the Shimano components after changing my HR to a Deore 10speed 1x setup. The 130mm Recon fork is sufficient for the types of trails I ride and simple to operate. Frame feels pretty sturdy so far and aim a larger guy jumping and dropping quite a bit. Huge cassette for those long, steep climbs but honestly, I spend the most time in the lower 4 gears. Who knows–maybe I'll go SS because I can! I may upgrade the KMC chain to a Shimano 12 speed of better quality. I definitely recommend some good flat pedals. I'm rocking Stamp 1s on both my Spesh setups which work well. Went tubeless almost immediately and that's a definite must. But all in all, a high quality bike sub $2K that I can push when the trail pushes back. A beautiful finish in the satin smoke gray with the murdered out logotype, and definitely a great frame to gradually upgrade into the ultimate trail fun machine.–even though it's pretty capable out of the box for a novice like myself pushing 40 that likes to ride the bike like a 17 year old. As far as Hardtails in alloy go, I really feel you can't go wrong here with the bike's versatility and high quality build.

good bike, bad crankset

I love this bike and it pains me to give such low ratings. The bike is strong and climbs like a mountain goat. The crankset is OK but the crankset bolt is garbage and its been super hard to find a replacement. I cant find anything online and the big bike shop here was unable to do so also. That bolt is known to get loose and or disappear. I'm frustrated because mine is new and it has already been a problem. I've been riding mine since 9-14-2020 and that bolt is already MIA. I've called, emailed and no one seems to have that bolt. So my only option is to replace the entire crankset on a new bike....

Love Love this Bike

I had a bike on order for almost 3 months. Stopped into the shop just to see if they had anything and BAM! This bad boy is in my life. I haven't rode a mountain bike in 20 years , it's like riding a bike, is an understatement. WOW this thing is SWEAT!

Send to Florence SC specalized dealer

The Fuse Comp 2021, Satin Smoke/ Black in large frame looks like an amazing bike. It looks so amazing that I've had one pre-ordered at my local bike shop for nearly 4 months. As you can tell I'm excited for it to be delivered to the Specalized dealer in Florence SC. Hint hint... :)
