I have been riding a lot for 47 years. I've gone through hundreds of flats. These tires have flatted once in 5-7,000 miles. They are wonderful For years I've been reading about flat resistant tires, tubes etc. only to find they don't work. These do work. Also ride well on a variety of surfaces. Please don't discontinue.
I ride about 60% road and 40% gravel lava. No other tire would I trust. I have this on my Crux. Finishing second set and going to install my 3rd.
I ordered bike tires and tubes for my wife's bike. The pricing was very competitive for the items that were purchased. The tubes and tires were both rated as thorn proof, which is good for her. She tends to run over a lot of thorns, this portion has yet to be tested to see how well they work. The order came quickly and was shipped correctly. The tubes and tires have been installed and are working fine, but have not been used on any trails yet,
Great. Has rubber on the corners, which support leaning into a corner. Works with my electric bike.
No more flat tires from goatheads. I've pulled some of them out of the tires but nothing has got through to puncture the tube.
1000mile review and they're still on. No punctures, no issues at all. Ridden over lumpy Lake District MTB tracks and through thorn infested lanes of Norfolk without a hitch. Had many problems with punctures over the years but thankful for the Crossroads. traction in corners is excellent and they roll nicely on tarmac. Would love to see them in 45+ width for more gnarly terrain!!
Great for gravel riding with no flats!
These tires paired with thorn resistant tubes and slime are almost bulletproof. I have them on my 1993 Specialized Stumpjumper for riding paths and dirt trails. Also, on my Cannondale Lefty. They are great for pavement, gravel and easy single track trails. They roll fast and have a good feel.
Installed this on 2 hybrid bikes. No punctures yet in 100-200 miles. Rides fine downhill, tested at 30mph
Needed more robust tyres for my e bike,so far very impressed with road holding and more comfortable ride
Nice balanced tread pattern, compliant, fast rolling and grippy
Great tires that are great on the road and off the road.
I fell in love with the original Crossroads tires in 1985 when I put them on my 1984 Stumpjumper. That bike was stolen in 1986. I picked up another 1984 Stumpjumper 10 years ago, and it rolls with the current Crossroads tires. It gives a smooth ride on pavement, it's my commuter/around town bike. No flats, and no complaints! Good to know if I had to take it off the pavement, the Crossroads would have no problems with it. I would like to see it take a higher PSI though. I am loyal to the Crossroads tires, and will run them on this bike until the day I die, or the Stumpjumper dies! We all know Stumpjumpers never die!
Best MTB tyres ever. Thousands of miles over several years and not ONE puncture. So hard wearing & very long lasting tread. Highly recommended.
Very impressive tire, excellent trail tire, rolls very easy. I would purchase this tire again.
Good traction on dry trails, smooth for street riding.
I really like these tires. They replaced Specialized Infinity series which I previously used. The tread design offers great traction on chat or gravel, yet still rolls smoothly on pavement. Excellent design.
I am very fond of these tires, have them on 2 of my bikes. I use them for gravel riding and on the pavement and the only flat I've had so far was from a large mesquite thorn that even the Armadillo won't stop.
I've been running a pair of 26" Crossroads for almost two years. To be honest they were not my first choice. But due to supply & demand issues that we all face and my back against the wall I pulled the trigger & bought two. To say they're better than expected is really down playing it. They are fast, quite, and the grip is pretty good. They are not a mud tire, they are not that good in snow, (I live in Mn.) but that's not what they're built for. They are a good tire at a great price that really covers a lot of bases. I will buy another pair when that time comes.
Tough and fast. I have it on my cyclocross bike. Great on gravel. They should make the tire in 33 or 35 as well.
These are absolutely rapid, love them. Got them on two 26MTB and if they were available as 29x2.4 I would have them on my 29MTB. Obviously best on hardpack and tarmac, commutes, day trips, nothing technical. Only had 1 puncture ever on a flooded part of trail underpass that was a soup of broken bottles, burnt out motor bikes and the usual shopping trolley graveyard.
I use these to commute on roads, bike trails and some gravel Haven't had them long enough to critique. They seem solid and handle well on the terrain I've mentioned.I got these because the Electrak Armadillos 2.0 are working well for me with my Turbo Vado 5.0. I feel pretty confident that these tires will hold up well against goathead thorns.
These are the best tire I have ever used. Never had a flat. I did have a severe cut but the tube remained intact. I did replace the tire though. You can't go wrong with the armadillo.
I ride over the whole variety of surfaces--mud, gravel, asphalt and concrete. Yep-even across glass when I can't avoid it. This tire handles it all with a smooth ride. Love it and only use this tire for my ride.
I had them on my commuter/bikepacker/alldaybike my trusty Croix de Fer for 2 years and I have to say it's the best tyre for city roads/gravel/rugged path/whatever, and they hold the beating very well, way better than the next model I got the Schalwbe Marathon gt365, I got it because I thought I would have more grip because of the thread design and the softer rubber but I didn't get any, the Crossroads gives you PLENTY of grip even though that flat band in the middle of the tyre suggest it wont, it grips way better than the Marathons on almost every surface, the tiny knobs ok the Crossroads give just the perfect bite when needed. That central band of the thread that is almost completely flat make them roll REALLY well when fully inflated and the knobs on the sides are perfectly placed to give you grip on muddy corners, paths covered on leaves and wet city streets. Overall amazing tyre to put on your everyday machine. It will hold the punishment, you wont get a flat and you can just go to do some offroad riding without having to change anything except maybe the tyre pressure. I'm buying them again now that the Marathons are falling apart.
Running the tyres for 4 years Never had a puncture Same tyres 5000 miles Still good tread Excellent highly recommended
