I heard this model is discontinued

I heard this model is discontinued. Is it because it is so good that you cannot make money selling inner tubes etc.? I hope not. Nothing better that commuting to work on a reliable bike. Never worry about a flat. I'd buy this bike if you made a road bike with the solid tire. Its too practical to keep this in production I guess but kudos for the design!

I love this bike! My other bike is getting dusty.

I commute to work with this bicycle 15 miles round trip in the California Bay Area- hills, 1 mile long bridge, rain, fog, thorns, broken glass, down tree branches. I used to ride my Specialized Hard Rock Sport, so you know what I'm comparing this to. I did have the bike skid twice in a year. Be careful while simultaneously breaking and turning on wet leaves/grass. I rode over a fallen tree branch (2 inch diameter) with no problem - not a lot of side branches on it. I've ridden in gravel just fine. The tires are tough. When I hear clicking I pull out thorns or broken glass. The holes/cuts close up pretty well. I would still avoid glass/debris if possible. These tires save a lot of time/hassle- No flats, No checking air pressure. I rise out of the saddle going off curbs and on cracked/bumpy roads . It does ride more hard than a bike with regular tires. The seat is comfortable and I love the shaped handgrips. I used a gel cushion on my old bike but not this one. It doesn't glide as fast on hills. Plus side- less wear on breaks. I bought mine as a used rental, so my tires already had some wear. It feels like riding on tires that are slightly low on air pressure. I just use a lower gear and that makes up for the difference. The range of gears is great! That extra large chain ring makes the hills possible in the heat. I usually stick to the medium gears: 7 or 8 on flat ground, 3 on an incline, 2 or 1 on the hill of death. It shifts very smoothly. My flare pants don't get stuck in the chain/chain wheel. The breaks work great and are easy to change. The handlebars are slightly angled so my strap on handlebar headlight doesn't face directly ahead. I don't have fenders. You will need a raincoat or fenders for rain. I've gotten lots of compliments on my bike's looks. It is long. I have to take off both tires to fit it in a trunk. Quick release makes it easy. If I put the back seat down, it will fit in a Honda Fit with both tires on.
