34.9mm Seat Collar with Ti Bolt

Fortunately, I was not riding when I found the collar clamp severed. A failure in a part like this could really make for a bad day on the bike if you happen to be recovering with no hands on the handlebars. Please, please source this part from a different manufacturer. I have been riding specialized mtnbikes for well over 35+ years, and I've never seen a seat post collar clamp fail until today.

This was original equipment on my EPIC EVO Expert for almost 2 years and just broke while riding on flat ground in the first mile of my ride on a Saturday. No shops had a replacement and lost the entire weekend for a $18 part. Looked this up to get a replacement and extremely disappointed to see 3 other reviews here for the same reason. Will not be getting another one and questions Specialized parts now as a result.

Really. I was standing on a downhill part of a trail and I heard a crack. When I went to sit down a few seconds later my seatpost slid down into the frame. I never tightened the clamp over the spec of 6 Nm.

Never tightened over 6nm but snapped when riding. Too light for a lightly used Epic Evo on walking trails after 3 years. Not good.....

The price is reasonable for the quality of the product, it is a lightweight component and it goes very appropriate in a Specialized Rockhopper frame to which I upgraded to a Dropper Post.
