The tires are great, but well before the tread is worn, the black rubber part that runs on the road separates from the rest of the tire, requiring replacement. Product defect.
Roll brilliantly, very comfortable and great grip. Best tyre I have ever used.
Excellent smooth ride.
The black part of the contact patch easily separates from the tire body.
Tried lots of different tyres These are by far my favourite
Quite and smooth
Overall great tire - never had an issue with flats. It corners really well, it's fast tire overall. They last about 4,000+mi on the average. The only issues I've had lately - the black rubber separated from the sidewalls material - on 3 of my tires. Not sure if there was a change in manufacturing or ??? Was disappointed with that.
My experience has not been good. Very flimsy with seemingly no puncture resistance. Not to mention heavy and slow. Only redeeming quality is can take on and off without irons.
Excellent smooth ride and very fast. My only concern is that they don't last too long but I like the trade. Trying the new Turbo SW t2/t5 now.
the title is the review. great tire. first ride on a paved trail, psssst flat. UG.
Best tires around. No question. I only ride these tires.
Over the years I've been through a couple sets of the base Roubaix road tire and those are perfectly good tires. Again, perfectly good. However, I decided to throw a few extra bucks at these Turbo Cotton tires just to try something new and after one short ride, hot damn! Everything about the ride and response feels different. It's March, so I haven't even been riding consistently enough to be able to say I'm severely in tune with my riding right now, so to say I felt any difference would have surprised me. Anyway, if you're on the fence and wondering if upgrading the quality of your tires is something you should do, these suckers are responsive as hell but at the same time (somehow) soften up the comfort of the ride considerably. What a seriously great upgrade to breathe some life into a slightly older bike (Secteur) just as riding season is starting up.
If you want a tire that feels like a sewup and is light, fast, and looks good these are your tire.
I only ride these tires. The best on the market.
I have had those for about 1 week. All I can say so far I am amazed how fast these are. Supper grippy super FAST! :)
Light as a feather
Fast tyres. Looks great. And easy to mount on wheels.
The best tire I have ever ridden. Really like the 24’s and like the weight.
My go to tire for the road and outdoor velodrome
Turbo cotton is a fantastic tyre, been riding on these for over 5years. 👍🏴
Great tire but not resistant to road cuts
great all around tire
Have this tire on my SWORKS TARMAC SL-7. Great tire, great feel. Inflating to ~75-80PSI. Riding on relatively rough, patched and pitted, sometimes chip sealed Hudson Valley NY roads. Single flat at ~1300 miles (punctured by some sharp object), but had a flat (puncture) on my Conti GP5000s on another bike at almost identical mileage 4 days later, so hard to blame the tire. Now riding the Turbo Cottons with Aerothan Race tubes--so far so good.
This is the fastest tire with the lightest rolling resistance I have ever ridden. People who are complaining about getting flats, THIS IS NOT YOUR EVERY DAY RIDING TIRE. If you want something to train on, I would definitely steer clear of anything cotton. With that said, ride these on a cleaned crit course and these will be your best ride EVER!
I have these tires on my S Works Tarmac. They are comfortable and fast tires. I have raced on Vittoria Corsa tubulars at 100 psi, and the Turbo Cotton clinchers are a bit more comfy at 80 psi. I have found that these tires are very close but not as good as the handling of tubular tires. I train on these clinchers and and have had one flat after around 1200 miles when the tread became noticeable worn and thin. I replaced them and have had no flats after around 500 miles. I would buy again as I like them better than any of the dozens of clinchers that I've had!
Love these tyres for the speed and the great look but on the rough country roads of Gloucestershire I've had to replace one after only four rides/300km. No punctures (yet) but the sidewall developed a hole with the tube visible. I had to give them a second chance so I'll see how the second goes before reassessing. Come on Spesh I'm a massive fan who's spent a fortune on your products over the years. This is top end stuff, make it live up to that.
these are the best tires I have tried so far, been on continental, mavic (have mavic wheels) and these are by far the best. I read a lot comments about getting flats, but maybe I just have been lucky.
No problem at first, but, did a 364 mile ride in 3 days and had 3 flats. Would use again but on for shorter rides or races.
Ridden this set through winter, just under 1000 miles so far, soft, light, fast and no punctures so far, maybe I am just lucky.
Like many others, I wanted to love these. In fact, when the tubes are actually inflated they are my favorite tire ever. But I've had 6-8 flats over the last year riding this set, way more than other tires. And I'm not talking big chunks of glass or metal screws. I'm talking 1/4 long TINY thorns that break off in my fingers, but manage to get through these tire to my tubes. Specialized, please look into this. You lost this customer because of it. Going back to Continental.
Fast and confortable tire hands down. I got the 700c x 26 version. I gave 1 star for speed and another for comfort. Things to Keep in mind, I've not even put 100 miles on these and had 2 flats. First time out did a quick 20 miles and right away I notice these were fast. Second time out flat, same route. Third time out flat, the same route. It's frustrating
