Sure wish Specialized still made these.

This is a very nice hybrid bike - A high end frame very comparable to the Diverge, but with low to mid range components. If you don't mind swapping some parts it can be also be a very capable gravel bike - though somewhat hamstrung by limited rear tire clearance of 40-42mm.

Excellent bike!!!

Having read other reviews talk about the chain falling off. The SLX rear derailleur has a switch to loosen or tighten the chain. With the switch tightened, the chain does not come off. I LOVE THIS BIKE!!!

Bike had potential, but Specialized put cheap parts on the bike

First problem right off the bat was constant dropping of the chain in the front derailleur. This would happen frequently when pedaling, a when starting to pedal after coasting a little. VERY annoying and downright dangerous. Took it to the shop, they did some adjustments and the problem persisted. Took it in again and was told that the front chainring wasn't compatible with the rear Shimano SLX M7100 derailleur. What??? Why would Specialized do this combination? My LBS said that I should upgrade the chainring as it isn't compatible with the rear derailleur and put on a new chain to solve the problem. Took my LBS's advice and over $100 later Guess what? Chain still kept dropping. Took the bike back into the shop. Was now told that the rear hub was failing and that was most probably what was causing the chain drop. (this could explain the loud "clunk" I'd often hear when pedaling). This bike is only 1.5 yrs. old. Had to upgrade my wheels ($1600). $$2500 bike now $4400.

Love the bike

So far I love the bike and the look of it, have it for over a year now and upgraded wheels to roval and the pedals to bloomslang platform. The only thing I didn't like much are the tires, I think they are a little noisy

“Maybe” I would recommend it.

I thought this was going to be a great alternative ride from my road bike and my gravel bike. Sadly, I don’t ride it much because the damn chain comes off the front chainring while pedaling. Happened again today….while leveling off from a mild little climb. Sometimes it happens while on a flat section of road (I only ride it on pavement). It is so freakin annoying! For this sort of cash this should not be happening. Got this bike in October 2021 and now have 588 miles on it. It’s a good looking bike, but a bit heavy in the rear for an all carbon bike. So, overall, it’s a “meh” bike.

Great bike, super versatile (wish it had better components)

My body struggles with drop bar geometry and prefers the flat bar set up on mountain bikes and road bikes. I have an older sirrus for the road and was excited to see the "X" series when it was introduced. This bike is a blast to ride and can go just about anywhere. I've ridden it on road, gravel, and some tame mountain bike trails. Even did Unbound 100 with this bike. Love the simplicity of the 1x drivetrain. Like others have said, some components could be better. I've upgraded my drivetrain to GRX cranks, Wolftooth chainring, and SRAM cassette and chain. Shifts better now than when I first got the bike. Also switched out the seatpost for the Roval Terra Carbon Seat Post. Well worth the money. Looking to upgrade brakes at some point. Future dream build: Sirrus X 6.0 or "Pro" - with SWAT storage in the downtube, future shock 2.0 (adjustable), 47mm tire clearance, and better components.

Great Bike!!!!! Not so great components

I've had my Sirrus X 5.0 for about a month now, put about 400mi on it. This is a great commuting, gravel and light trail bike. It's light and fast, very nimble. Now the downside.. For the price of this bike, you'd think you'd get a decent component package. Not.... Crank and Bottom Bracket creaked excessively on first ride out the LBS. A couple of tweaks here and there to the crank arms and BB the sound went away. A week later the creak came back. As for the brakes, $60 dollar brakeset on a $2500 dollar bike? Really? Mind you.... depends on your riding style, ME, I ride hard and fast and I need stopping power, not slowing power. So I upgraded to Shimano SLX 2 piston, carbon handlebars and seatpost. Drivetrain is next. Overall this is a awesome bike with good suspension, I would recommend to a friend. Frame and fork are super sexy. If you're looking for a fast fitness/commuting bike and are not component conscious, as I am, then look no further. Step up your component game Specialized

Great Bike!!!

Love this bike, it was difficult finding one though. I also had problems with the chain dropping. I tried a few things that didn't work and ended up changing the chain ring after my LBS recommended that. Apparently the stock Praxis chain ring's "wave" design can cause the chain to drop off. I went with a 42t (wanted a bigger ring anyway) SRAM X Sync and that stopped the problem immediately. I've had a few 1x bikes but this is my favorite.

Overall, love the bike! Nice

Overall, love the bike! Nice and light, good brakes, nice geometry for me. Only issue I have is with derailleur or shift lever, can’t seem to get it right. I either put too much or too little pressure and it advances 2 gears or not at all. I’ve never had this problem with any other bike, so not sure what’s going on. Jury still out as I haven’t had my new bike tune-up yet, another week or 2 for that.

The grips tho r fantastic that came on it,I just need to tilte them up more. I went w/lg I'm 5"7 but longer legs, &arms but the reach seems ok. Seat is a race seat, very comfortable on a 2 hr ride.I will add new CrankBrothers Stamp peddles in Poly w/shorter pins .This bike won't disappoint 👌 its fantastic. I'm going to try to post on YouTube so you can see the color..just type in redwood specialized sirrus x5.0.

This bike can do it

This bike can do it all. Its so light that I can lift it with one finger. It handles better than expected offroad and has no problem getting up any hills. Ive only ridden it for about 50 miles but its a great bike. The chain has popped off a couple of times when shifting though. I think I might upgrade the seat too

I purchased the Sirrus X5.0

I purchased the Sirrus X5.0 graphite L. I am 5'5" tall, but have an inseam of 32".. I also have long arms. The fit is good, but I did need to change out the stock stem for an 80mm (as the reach was a bit too long). The bike is light and fast on the flat and inclines. It is a bit slow on the descents...probably because it is so light. It's a nice bike and fun to ride.

Speed and Comfort

The carbon frame and stem shock make this bike a joy to ride. The ride is smooth and supple thanks to the outstanding Pathfinder Pro tires and tall rims. The frame is designed for an upright ride, for those of us who like to see the world glide by. I like only having a rear derailleur just for the sake of simplicity. I feel like I can go anywhere on this bike, and now that I’m retired, I’m covering a lot of ground in comfort.

I have very positive feedback

I have very positive feedback about this bike. It’s my first Specialized as well as first hybrid. It’s s dream to ride. It’s comfortable, shifts effortlessly, and I think it looks cool. I find myself looking for new places to ride, just for the adventure. The ONLY negative is the incredibly low stock across the Specialized site. I was fortunate to get one of the last fitness bikes in stock.

Super bike !

I'll say, I've ridden a few hundred miles and I am impressed. I ordered this bike online from Specialized, and it was delivered to my home by a local retailer. The whole purchase process was smooth, and you just cannot beat home delivery. The bike color / red is very striking, and the future shock makes a noticeable difference on long rides, especially when transitioning from pavement to gravel and vice versa. Also, this bike climbs almost effortlessly. The extra gears help on steep inclines. Pedals have a nice grip as well. All in, I love it. Only one con for me. The tires are not as wide as the Sirrus X 3.0. I liked the stability of those on granite/ crushed granite. The thinner tire on the 5.0, added with the lighter carbon frame, causes me to be a lot more cautious on loose terrain. Not a deal breaker. I may either adapt or swap out tires. I would definitely recommend this bike, and I'm looking forward to taking it on many, many adventures!

Love at first sight!

What a fantastic bike! Its light weight, comfortable, and handles well on or off road. I have ridden it on small gravel and some pretty big gravel and it handled it with ease. I was lucky enough to get the red version and i think the colour is better in real life than the photos. I have broken some Strava segment times, and those times were set on a road racing bike.

Comfortable Fitness Ride!

I had to tweak a few things to get the Specialized Sirrus 5.0 Carbon right for me! Moustache handlebars, comfy gel seat, slightly larger flat gravel pedals-I prefer a more upright riding position! I ride for fitness on hilly terrain. For my 6'2" frame (33"inseam) the XL frame is great, as I don't like having the seat cranked way up above the frame! I have only about 1000' of packed gravel to ride through to get to tar road, so I put on 32mm wide 85 psi tires for better street efficiency. My OTHER similarly priced carbon frame 1X11 fitness bike (made by the most popular USA brand) has a Shimano GRX groupset which I prefer, but I prefer the frame geometry on the Specialized for its ergonomics & lower center of gravity (I ride 1" lower to the ground on the Specialized, both frames being XL size) and the front handlebar shock isolation is also superior on the Specialized. I would recommend the Sirrus X Carbon 5.0, but believe the GRX groupset on my other other bike is better!

Sirrus X 5.0

Bikes rides great, good weight for the price point but...I am 5' 3" with a 30 inch inseam and the bike is a small frame which came with a 250 mm seat post which I could not raise high enough for proper fit. The wheelset uses Bear Paw hubs with old school XD drivers and a Sun Race Cassette. The hubs are not compatible with a Shimano Micro Spline driver to allow for a cassette upgrade to a Shimano XT 12 speed 10-45 cassette. I'm stuck with a Sun Race Cassette unless I get different wheels, had I have know this I would not have purchased this bike.

Ripped off

Not sure what made this bike close to 2 grand.. I have the XS. I trusted the branding but they didn't get the fit right .. unless it was made for midgets. The seat could have went back farther and handle bars up higher. Other than what go with GIANT for a fraction of the cost. What a let down.

Fun in the Sun, Great Ride

I have owned many bike and few of them have been specialized, but none of them are as fun to ride as this one. The xl carbon frame is a smooth ride with a quick responsive feel. This is a perfect size for a guy that is 6'2"" I Upgraded peddles, carbon fiber seat post carbon bars and ergo grips for even smother ride. Adding some zipp areo bars for added positions on long strait roads. But I don't need to stay hunched over all the time like a road bike so I love the variety.

Fast and fun!

1st my set up is for comfort as I'm not going to ride any hardtail as is. I added the Redshift Shockstop suspension seatpost, Ergon ST Core Prime saddle and FSA carbon fiber handlebars. With the details out of the way this bike is a dream to ride. Fast, lightweight, plush. The future shock with carbon fiber handlebars add excellent dampening. The seat post/saddle combination float over bumps. Very very fun bike. What I don't like and is not acceptable is the cables in the down tube make a chatter noise.

Wow, excited about riding again!

I'm 56 and I really enjoyed riding my road bike over the past 20 years. I don't have any physical issues but I no longer want to ride like I'm racing all the time. I wanted a more versatile bike where I could ride more places, still climb and go fast when I want to. After a lot of research I decided on the Sirrus X 5.0. The front end future shock feature and the body geometry seat gives me a ride I haven't experienced before. I just want to ride all the time. I also love the single 40T crank in the front and 12 speed cassette in the back. It simplifies the ride making it even more fun. After living in the city over the past 3 years, this is just what the doctor ordered. I got the red but it looks more like a burnt orange. It's an amazing color that looks darker and better in person. I feel a little safer on the road now with the more upright posture and the MTB pedals with studs that I added. This bike is a great tool to help me with my fitness goals.
