Maybe you're finding your legs on the singletrack, or perhaps you're just dirt-curious? Either way, the Rockhopper Sport is the only bike you need to live out your trail fantasies.

It starts with our new A1 Aluminum frame that has optimized tube shapes which save weight while dramatically improving aesthetics. To go along with these clean new lines, the new Rockhopper also has internal cable routing to further clean up the frame. Lastly, our Sport XC 29 geometry adjusts the reach, angles, and standover height to make for an improved fit across the size range. This is sure to keep you ripping and confident while heading both up and down the trail.

This Rockhopper comes with a build spec that places an emphasis on reliability. This means that it features a full Shimano drivetrain, dependable Shimano hydraulic disc brakes, grippy Ground Control tires that add traction over any trail, and an SR Suntour XCT 29 fork with our custom Multi-Circuit damping that eliminates the "pogo" feel commonly associated with coil forks.

  • The frame is constructed from lightweight A1 Aluminum in order to provide a compliant, durable platform to support our acclaimed XC Sport 29 Geometry. Combined, you get a bike that's more than efficient on climbs and descends with equal aplomb.

  • Custom SR Suntour XCT fork features 80/90/100mm (size-specific) of coil-sprung suspension travel that swings well above its weight class.

  • A Shimano Acera rear derailleur controls the rear shifting with durable aplomb. It shifts along a wide gear range, 11-34t, so you can ride confidently knowing that you'll always have the right gear for the hill at hand.

Espectacular

Very happy

I'm on about my third or fourth month of this bike now. I still love it! Some people complain about shifting and gear issues. I had that problem for about a week at the start while breaking it in. After getting its drive train cleaned and tuned up, its been fantastic since. My boyfriend has the Rockhopper comp and I'll would say this holds up just fine in comparison. Not a big difference between the two unless you want the clutch a few other changes that the comp has to offer. I changed both tires to meet my needs. The stock tires are good but can leave something to be desired if your doing intense uphill climbs and intense downhills. It performs well in jumps, gaps, and the whole assortment. My chain has only fallen off once but it was a failed bunnyhop into a curb. This thing has really taken a beating from me already and its lasting just fine. No issues period. I'll be keeping this bike for a very long time. And as far as hardtail bikes go I think it is a fantastic option! Its fairly lightweight and takes impacts and rockgardens wonderfully. Take care of this bike and it will take care of you. Tires were my only upgrade I felt was more of a need than a want. Would recommend strongly.

Solid performing bike. Happy I got it.

I've had this bike for almost a year now. I like the black/red/white colorway. I've put about 1,200 miles on this bike on trails, gravel and road. Handles really well. The 29er wheels are fast. Never had any issues with gear shifting, chain falling off, etc. The brakes are solid. Not the lightest bike but great bang for the buck. Very versatile. Glad I got it and will continue to ride it as much as I can. Front shock is good enough but I definitely wouldn't be doing any jumps with this bike.

So far it is awesome

I've seen a lot of negative things about the cheaper fork, it is slightly slow in response but it is fit fine for the trails I've hit so far. Wonderful bike for the money. I'm very happy I got this bike. Brakes are a dream.

Superb for the price

I race XC and this bike is such an amazing platform to work on. I've put Shimano XTR on it as well as Manitou Machete 29 forks on it and it performs awesome! Bought mine on Jan 2020. Idk why the other guy complains about bike stand mounts, there are a lot of ways you can prop your bike. Having a side-stand mount would be a deal-breaker for most. Specialized Elite Store Pasig Branch was extremely helpful and accommodating, especially Mr. Provido. This bike is a 10/10. I love it and I'm proud of it.

Very nice bike for my needs. But 2 basic things needed.

I just want a solid, dependable bike I can ride in the hills and desert backroads. I've owned a Hardrock for 31 years and this Rockhopper 29er is a great replacement. What is disappointing is the owner's manual is almost useless. Instead of giving you basic, complete info on making adjustments (like my 31 year old Hardrock's manual), nearly every subject ends with ""if any questions see your dealer"". Not even basic chain lubing or cable adjustments are mentioned. Specialized wants you to go to your dealer for help or service on literally everything. It's ridiculous that an owner needs to go to ""You Tube"" and hope to see how to do basic maintenance on their bike. You truly get more useful info when you buy a toaster. Sad. Other basic thing needed: Why no kickstand mount on the frame somewhere? Just a plate welded on with the standard 2 threaded bolt holes, please! It's not easy to find a chain stay mounted stand that actually works. I'd think Specialized would want to sell stands that mount to their bikes. Why this is over looked is beyond me. Specialized expects you to just lay your bike down on the ground?

Great upgrade platform

Bought this bike to upgrade. Slap on new bars, stem, brakes, a 1X10 and suspension and its a beast. the best part is you can buy parts as you can afford them and still ride.
