Great Jacket, Wrong Sizing

I'm 6'1, 190lb with 33" waist with broader shoulders. I typically buy MEDIUM jackets for a snigger fit, or LARGE to allow for layers within. After reading some reviews on this RBX Comp Jacket, I settled for a LARGE. Although the material is of good quality and is stretchy, the jacket felt very taunt around my body, especially around the shoulders. It was also quite short. I then ordered an XL. The only difference between the L and XL was the bottom of the jacket, where the L was a bit narrower; other than than, the two were pretty much the same. I eventually ended up getting the XXL, which finally fits my frame, although the sleeves are about 1" too long. But other than the small sizing by good two sizes, the jacket is made of good materials and looks good. I can't comment on its performance, as I have not yet used it on a ride. It's still summer, as I'm writing this review.

Great jacket!

Excellent jacket that moves with you on the bike. I usually wear a size L in the Men's RBX line tops, however I found the L to be too constrictive around the chest and shoulders and settled on the XL instead, I've noticed a lot of the winter gear fits tighter in general. The jacket has the perfect amount of insulation for rides around 20-50f, and it does a really good job of venting excess heat and repelling light moisture. It also looks really dang good on me, I bought the blue and love how it looks. This jacket does not pack down small so don't expect it to stow away easily, I throw a seat bag on my bike when I'm wearing it in the event I want to remove it. There aren't a lot of features to talk about, it has pockets on the back, but it is a fairly straightforward item. The material itself is soft, comfortable, and has a bit of stretch to it. For reference, I am 6'1" and 205lbs with a fairly athletic build.

RBX soft shell jacket

I would recommend that the ‘size’ chart be reevaluated. I know cycling apparel is always ‘snug’, but I wear ‘medium’ on dress shirts and Large in cycling jerseys. Typically a size 42 in suits. 5’11”, 185 lbs.. The size “L” in this jacket was very snug in body and extremely snug in shoulders & arms. Will be returning. Not sure I will try XL as I’m sure sleeves will be way to long.

Great jacket…

I’m relatively new to Specialized cycling wear. So far, everything has been high in quality and this jacket does not disappoint. I’m 5-6, 161lbs… FIT: semi-race fit. Shoulder are a tad snug but once on the bike, in position,it is less restrictive. This is the hallmark of a well designed jacket made specifically for cycling. It’s not just another “cycling” jacket. JACKET: It looks stealthy in black. It’s well designed and functional. It will keep you warm and it can easily become your everyday winter riding jacket by adding or removing layers. I’m beginning to like Specialized stuff better than Castelli. At least this is somewhat affordable. It’s a great jacket.

Excellent Between-Season Jacket

First ride with this jacket. Low-50's/high-40°, windy and cloudy. Wearing only a base layer underneath, it was more than adequately warm. Occasional unzipping was necessary. I am 5-10, 150# and wear medium size street clothes. The medium in this jacket fit like I wanted it - snug but not tight. No flapping fabric. If this were a pair of blue jeans, I would buy another pair!

I’m 5’5” or 1.65m and

I’m 5’5” or 1.65m and I weigh 180lbs or 81.6 kilos. I order the medium-sized and fits great. The only minor issue is the long sleeves are a bit too long but I can deal with it. Great quality materials.

RBX Softshell jacket

This is med weight riding jacket for temps not below the ‘40s. It is mostly wind proof, but I wear a shell over it for lower ‘40s. The armpit area and bottom of sleeves are breathable material, making it not super warm. Today, I wore it with a shell and thermal top under it, at dawn, no sun, ride dipped to 37° and I was ok. Normally I wear a light (800gram) down jacket if ride stays around 40°, but the RBX did a good job and fits like a riding jersey with the 3 back pockets. It runs really small. I wear a L in t-shirt and needed a XXL in the RBX. The price is high at $180, but it is nice quality.
