Great for road bike

I bought 3 pairs of specialized gloves. The grail, the SL, and the sport gel. I tried the grail on my MTB first and hated them. Made me feel like I wasn’t able to control the bar or grip properly. Then I tried them on my road bike and wala fantastic. My go to road bike glove now. The pad works just right for it.

Fantastic Gloves

These are fantastic gloves. I cannot speak to longevity at this point but can tell you they are extremely comfortable. I truly like the palm pad as well.

Super Light and Breathable

Raced on these for a year, lasted the whole season and feel great. Super nice full finger glove for the hot weather. Just bought again. Would definitely recommend.

Good looking gloves

Love the minimal look of the glove, and the padding really helps on long gravel rides.I also love theres no strap, so when I overheat, i cqan easily pull them off without slowing down. By far my favorite specialized clothing/gear.

Great gloves

The grail gloves fit great and help with finger numbness during longer rides. 45-75 mile endurance races and ride these gloves help a lot. Since I’ve switched to these I buy them regularly. For cold months I use a storm liner glove over these gloves and can ride/race in temps in the low 30s.

Great light gloves with a "met pad" for your hand.

These are my go-to gloves for biking - mtb or road in either the long or short finger version. They have a "met pad" for your hand that helps me with numbness. There is another brand that does this, but I find their pad too big - this is just right.

IPhone screens are not conductive

The specs for these gloves state they are compatible with “conductive touchscreens.” A Garmin watch screen is conductive. An iPhone screen is capacitive. These are TERRIBLE with an iPhone. Would never buy these again.

Gel Problem

The gel pad wads up during long rides and after a machine wash on delicate. Ultimately, I removed the gel bad. I especially like the no velcro. The glove fits snuggly. Good quality and durable.

Fantastic fit and function

I’m sorry to hear others have gel problems. I have 3 pairs and have ridden with them on my mountain bike for thousands of miles and machine washes and have never had a gel problem ever. Super sturdily sewn and materials used hold up. I have no ulnar numbness or pain with 25 mile MB rides, formerly a problem sometimes. They are lightweight so not great for winter riding in colder climes, but I ride with them year round here in the Bay Area. About to buy more to lower the load on my 3 pairs.

Very Comfortable

Awesome purchase. Thanks again Specialized. I'm in the Bahamas. Early morning rides are cool and when that sun comes up it gets pretty humid quick. These gloves are very comfortable for me in all conditions. So long bye bye to my other gloves. Love the gel padding and what I love most is these things are very light weight and I can access my phone comfortably.

Excellent fit and feel and thennnnn the gel balled up in palm. Very irritating as they came highly recommended by the owner of my local shop. I ride Specialized both road and trail, so want to be committed to the brand, but not this product.

Gel pad failure

Yup, gel pad rolled up into a ball, first ride. And yes, I wish I saw reviews here earlier. I bought 2 pairs at the time, long and short fingered. One pair failed the first ride, second so far survived several shorter rides and some gentle hand washing. Given there are many people reporting the exact same problem I cannot recommend these and I am not sure I want to risk getting another pair. This is particularly vexing because these are actually great gloves (up to the point of failure).

Gel pad balls up

The gel pad is not fixed and will ball up the longer I ride. Really disappointed :( I like that there is no velcro. The gloves are thin enough to ride in the summer.

Faulty gel pads

Used once and washed. The gel pad shifted and rolled up in its cavity. A shame as the 3 year old grail gloves I have are still perfect. This version is terrible

Very Short Lifespan

After buying 1 pair, and enjoying them greatly at the time, I bought a second pair in a different color. I have had no issue with the gel rolling or bunching up. However, after a few months, and switching between, both pairs have come apart. The first pair that I purchased, the fabric on the inside, that holds the gel in, separated and the gel came out. The second pair stared ripping along the seam between the middle finger and ring finger. It has now continued ripping and only getting worse. I really did enjoy these gloves, as I do not like big gel cushions in my bike gloves. I cannot justify spending the money on more pairs, as going through 2 pairs in 4 months does not work. These gloves never went into the washing machine or drier, and were only gently hands washed when needed.

Bad Design - Don't Buy

Prior versions (2017) were great. The 2020 version has some MAJOR FLAWS that were evident less than 30 seconds into my first ride with them. The padding placed in the palm went into a roll immediately upon gripping my grips. It was like riding around with a mini-carpet rolled up in my palm. Overall they seemed way lower quality materials than my 2017 version. Miserable ride and returned them to my local bike shop immediately upon finishing my ride. I was going to buy a new SWAT Bib, but am holding off just in case Specialized is reducing its quality across their lineup.

Men's Body Geometry Grail Long Finger Gloves

Bought in Nov 2019 - did not start wearing regularly until early April 2020. Bought XL - I have narrow palm but long fingers and the fit is great. No gap at the fingertips. Nice airy back. I've worn these in 100 degrees and they breathe. No trouble with gel palm. My gel palm is stitched - not an insert. My gloves are 67115-1415. I've had 3-4 involuntary dismounts with hands out landings on rock or dirt and the palms held up. 1-1.5 point deduction for stitching coming loose on left glove.

Oops, not specialized in durability

These gloves are really great except for the problems with gel insert. It started to get tangled since after the first ride. Once tangled, get rid of 'em to use the glove continuously.

Fantastic Glove Contruction, Favorite Gloves

I've had these gloves for a few months now and have absolutely loved them. I've never liked bulky padded gloves, but like another comment mentioned, the padding is like arch support for your palm, and it's incredibly comfortable and innovative. It improves grip on the bars, spreads out the weight on your hands while riding, and the lightweight construction is great for anything from summer to fall weather. After 15 yrs of racing at the elite level, I haven't found a better glove.

Design issue with gel insert

I am on my second pair of these in XXL, purchased from a local shop. The first pair had the gel insert bunching up on the first ride, and the ""pocket"" that holds the insert separating after the second ride. I returned them to the shop, as the rep said it was a flaw in that pair. Well, the replacement pair did the same thing after 3 rides. I do wish that they could solve this issue, as until the insert starts going rogue they are EXTREMELY lightweight and comfortable.

Not happy

I have the short finger version of these gloves and I love them. But... I don't know if they changed the manufacturing process or what, but I've bought 2 pairs of these and the gel pad bunches up at the heel of my hand and it is impossible to get it back where it is supposed to be. I would NOT recommend these at all..

Bad design

Fits well but tight at the wrist which makes it difficult to put on and take off. It's already starting to rip at the seams and I've only tried them on once.

Arch Support for Hands

I have an inflammatory condition on one of the tendons of my right hand that made the aftermath of a mountain biking ride pretty uncomfortable with severe soreness. The placement of the special padding in the Grail gloves is perfect so that I no longer experience the soreness after a ride now. These gloves solved my issue while my drawer full of traditional gel gloves all failed. They really reduce the stress of gripping. Like shoes have arch support for feet, the Grail gloves are like arch support for hands.

Best Lightweight Gloves Ever

I have these in short and long finger versions, and they are both great. Maybe my hands are average in their dimensions, but these gloves feel like they were custom made for me- not a single bothersome seam or stitch, no bunching in the fingertips, they just disappear on my hands in terms of comfort. They are lightweight gloves, I use them in hot to cool temps, the palm padding is just right, and the absence of velcro closures is welcomed. They have been durable for me so far with extensive use (on road) and regular washings- no issues at all. Overall, my favorite gloves ever, over the course of 25 plus years of cycling.
