The New Allez Sprint

Product Details

We created the all-new Allez Sprint by cannibalizing the Tarmac SL7. We tore the Tarmac apart, and rebuilt it from alloy with our Smartweld technology. We leveraged every innovation and insight learned during its development to create the all-new Allez Sprint. Whether chasing a National title or attacking your buddies 15 minutes into an “easy” Sunday spin, we won’t be offended if you mistake the Allez for a Tarmac SL7. Some may call it a carbon copy, we call it the World’s First Alloy Super Bike.

  • The Allez Sprint is the fastest alloy road bike in history, thanks to the time its sibling, the Tarmac SL7, spent in the wind. It’s details like the most complex alloy head tube we’ve ever made and integrated cables that make it 41 seconds faster over 40km than the previous Allez Sprint. That’s a hell of a facelift. With 41 seconds, you’d have a podium picture in your Insta feed, just saying.

  • Whether you’re launching a sprint out of the final corner or attacking from the gun like a young Italian at the Giro, the Allez Sprint, with its one-piece bottom bracket and downtube, delivers the ruthless efficiency of alloy with unprecedented stability. By balancing power at the pedals with input at the bars, the Allez Sprint keeps you fast and confident on the limit.

  • Dive for the winning gap, bang elbows in the final meters, dissect the most technical descents, all without feeling like you’ve gone ten rounds with the heavyweight champ. Dropped seat stays, and the Tarmac SL7’s carbon seat post and fork make the Allez Sprint supple in the saddle and precise at the bars—all with Tarmac SL7's World Championship-proven geometry. It’s as comfy as it is beautiful. Well, almost.

  • One innovation over any other helps us deliver the new Allez Sprint’s aerodynamics, power transfer, and handling—Smartweld. Making the fastest bikes in the world out of carbon wasn’t hard enough. We hydroformed the bottom bracket and down tube from a single piece of alloy, built our most complex alloy head tube ever, and then put it all together with Smartweld. It’s what makes the Allez Sprint the first alloy super bike.

Great value for money? Far from it! My size 49 came in at a hefty 8.6kg's. 105 works fine but it's heavy and the wheelset not only looks anemic, it's damn heavy too. That said I put some 65 deep carbon wheels on and the bike came to life. I've since stripped all the 105 off and upgraded to SRAM Red and now the bike truly feels fast. My only real complaint is a visual one and that's the huge gap between the rear tyre and the seatpost on the size 49 frame (the older Sprint had a much fatter seatpost tube).

Decent

The bike is nice. Does it feel vastly different than the previous Allez Sprint? Nope. Is it overpriced for what it is? Probably. It’s a bike, it goes fast if you go fast. My biggest complaint is that Specialized’ direct to consumer model, cost consumers more to purchase the same bike than if you were able to buy it straight from a brick and mortar store (it was sold out everywhere besides Specialized own website); which makes zero sense because they offer in store pickup.

No Regrets

Needed a rugged frame, affordable, foul-weather, disc brake road bike and Allez Sprint Comp fit the bill. Good stock but get lighter wheels if possible. Installed a set of aero carbon 35's running tubeless and this bike flies. Fast, smooth, responsive, good power transfer. Head tube length is short so you ride low; may need a higher rise stem if you are older like me. Owned aluminum, carbon, titanium, and steel road bikes. No harshness of my older aluminum bike. 105 drivetrain as smooth as Ultegra. Standard threaded bottom bracket is so easy to change. Some complain about big welds but not a big deal. I'm interested in function over looks. It is plain FUN to ride. Can honestly say it is the only road bike I have owned over the years that puts a smile on my face every time I ride it.

Awesome Bike!

I was debating on a Tarmac SL7 Comp (Carbon) or this Allez Sprint Comp (Aluminum). I finally decided on the latter and couldn’t be any happier. The Allez looks exactly like the SL7 without the SL7 price tag. Had the Allez not had identical SL7 geometry, I most likely would have went with SL7 simply for the looks. The difference in weight and drivetrain between the two was not substantial enough for me to drop the extra cash (4-5 lbs heavier). With the savings, you can get yourself some nice carbon wheels, handlebars and other wanted upgrades and be at around stock SL7 territory. Bottom line is, if you race, AND want the absolute lightest bike, go SL7. If your the casual recreational rider like myself and want a really nice looking/performing bike without breaking the bank, take this Allez Sprint Comp.
