The Hillbilly BLCK DMND 2Bliss Ready tire is a perfect option for front tire use when the course features intermediate to soft terrain. When the soil is changing from hard to soft, the small blocks penetrate the ground surface and better connect you to the trail. Small surface centre knobs also increase the load on the ground and help surface penetration, while the shoulder knob row provides support in fast turns on all surfaces. Our GRIPTON® compound, meanwhile, improves high frequency damping, better attaching the tire to the ground over small bumps and rough sections alike. This means that the low frequencies of the rolling tire deflections pass through unfiltered, leaving no energy to be absorbed and keeping your speeds high. The new BLCK DMND casing strikes the balance between suppleness and extreme pinch flat protection. In order to descend all-out, you need as much traction as possible—the tire needs to conform and hold on to the ground, but also protect from pinch flats. In order for this to happen, only the treaded part of the tire needs to conform, grip, and dampen, while the tire base offers stability and support for steering inputs.

This tire can RIP!

In upstate New York, this tire will be best from late October/early November, all the way to may. It's beefy side knobs make cornering not sketchy in the least, and the middle knobs make your straight descents filled with plentiful grip. The tire is extremely predictable, and a great choice if your local spot is a bit muddy. The only downside for me was that I had trouble getting the tire to seat onto a 35 mm rim, and it still isn't properly seated. I have pumped it up a ton,(45 PSI) but I would like to avoid a sealant massacre.

Favorite PNW winter tire

I ride in Washington state and Oregon.... This is the best winter setup I found. I use a grid hillbilly on front and the black diamond casing on back. Grip for days in mud, loam, stream beds and washed out chutes. Doesn't feel as solid as the butcher on rocks and when it's dry, but that's not what I use this tire for. Hillbillies come off when things dry out around here in April. Black diamond casing is where it's at for me. Seems similar to maxxis double down. I've used the BD casing butcher as well. A 29x2.3 hillbilly, on a stans arch rim measures 61mm casing and 60.5mm at the knobs.

Mud on rails

As most people know in the UK - November and December have been wet, very wet and trails have become very very muddy. I fitted a Hill Billy on my front wheel and now it's like riding on rails in muddy conditions. This makes it easier to hold lines, brake and turn on slippery descents. The open tread means mud doesn't stick and the tyre stays clear of mud at all times. Also very good value compared to other more popular brands.

Eats the maxxis DHF

Running this tire in the 29x2.6 on my Status 160 love it. Way more stable feeling than the maxxis DHF imo Love the grip in the turns And the traction with being able to run low psi. Would be great if they came in a 27.5 for my Kenevo tho, not many sizes to pick from.

Pneumatico anteriore.

Stupendo all'anteriore sia come grip che come durata. Molto bene sul fango e sullo sterrato smosso e con molta ghiaia.

New favorite tire. Tread pattern is excellent.

Really liking the tread pattern. Very grippy and predictable. Only tried it in wet conditions and good dirt. Not sure about dry loose use yet, but seems like it would perform well with the tall knobs. Super stout tire. Can run much lower pressures because the sidewall is so tough. Seems to roll decently. It is heavy for a trail bike, but I'm gonna look at getting the lighter Grid version. Not a easy tire to find in stock though.
