Roval Terra CL Wheelset

These are good wheels but I have no idea why Spesh saw fit to raise the price hundreds of dollars with no improvements. Only buy them if you get a good discount. What's really bad though is the cheap valves they use. They look and feel cheap and leak. Just assume you need to buy Stans or something like that for these wheels and factor that in to the cost. People have complained about this for years and Specialized has done nothing but raise the price of the wheels.

Wheels are smooth-rolling, sturdy, reliable. I've thrashed them through almost 6,000 miles so far, much of it on gravel, and a good chunk of it during races in which I am slamming through rough stuff at speed. The wheels are still in great shape. Also, most tires mount pretty easily and most can be seated tubeless with just a track pump -- no compressor required, usually. I am deducting one star because the included valves are trash -- they leak like sieves. Be sure that you have some decent valves around when you get these wheels, or you will not get them on the road promptly.

Purchased these wheels approximately 2 years ago. Weight is within +/- 5 grams of quote. Spokes and rim were great, wheel was doing well, hubs were bullet proof. Only reason not 5 stars was replacement. Apparently Roval makes 2 separate wheelsets - for sale, and warranty replacement. Needed to replace only front wheel due to crash, and while replacement of rim was reasonable, the rim came back with embedded SILVER lettering! Why would Specialized not use economies of scale and just make all similar rims? Why make the extra effort to make a separate set for replacement warranty with bright silver lettering!? Wheels did not match, now I needed to put on stickers, which aesthetically degraded the original beautiful look.

light and durable!

This is a great wheel. Came on my crux and I’ve put them through the wringer. I regularly commute to work on them on the road and then hit the gravel and even light single track. I’ve used them in cross races and they’ve been great. Stiff , decently light and bomb proof. Liked them so much I bought a second pair.

I got these wheels for my wife's Roubaix that had stock wheels. Her mph average increased about 1.5 to 2 mph on our rides. Game changer.

Wheels are great, but they did not specify the free hub so my wheels came with Shimano when I needed SRAM. Also no brake discs or rotor lock rings. So I had to order 2 brake discs, 2 rotor lock rings, a SRAM free hub plus cassette spacer, and end caps to get a complete 2nd wheel set. Not expecting the wheels to come with all this stuff, but they should specify the free hub and at least include rotor lock rings. Wheels themselves are a great product though and I would buy them again.

Inclusive compartilham a mesma folha de aro de carbono. O seu peso de 1408 gr deixam a bike muito leve e reativa. Os 25 mm internos fazem os pneus se assentarem melhor. Seu barulho é macio, e o conforto da bike aumentou demais, o que faz muita diferença nas estradas de terra. O fato da marca dar garantia nas rodas, tranquiliza muito o seu uso. E os diversos reviews estrangeiros que li, confirmam essa excelência. Você vai ficar impressionado positivamente, se usa rodas de aluminio em sua gravel ou road.

The wheels are good. What is not good was the buying experience. Think Catalogue Mail Order. For those that don't know if you wanted to order anything that wasn't in a local store, you had to fill out the order form with a check and drop it in the mail box and hope and wait for it to arrive. This was a little better but not much. Would have liked to be informed to expect major delays in shipping before the decision to purchase. There are always other options. Ended up feeling disrespected. Too bad.

My purchase of the Roval Terra CL wheelset was an excellent choice. They perform very well, and the DT Swiss 350 hubs are second to none. The 25 mm inner width create a very nice foundation for running tubeless tires. I am running 30's and the ride is superb!

Awesome quality & super light wheel set for fast gravel. Very easy to setup with TLE tires. Great price point & backed by Specialized warranty & even crash replacement program, all the boxes are checked big time!

Probably the best wheelset for the money!

Love these wheels, but only after totally retaping them and replacing the valves. Otherwise, they’re super light, ride well on gravel, and respond quickly. Just a little disappointing to have flats several times until I replaced the tape and valves.

The wheels arrived out of true, and I needed to spend another $70 to get them without wobble. Other than that, they're great. A nice light wheelset.

I purchased the Roval Terra CL wheels to upgrade the wheels on my Diverge gravel bike and it made a significant improvement in ride and performance. I have Roval wheels on my Epic mountain bike and they have been very durable over 3 years of hard riding. I expect these will be just as durable.

I've only got 275 miles on them - but so far, so good. I've intentionally ridden them on some gnarlier gravel, ridden through potholes and over rocks and such, to test the wheels -- and they are running true. Only time will tell on durability, but I don't anticipate problems. Tubeless tire setup was easy: the factory taping job is perfect, tires fit tightly, and I got the beads set with a floor pump -- first time that's happened for me. As others have noted, the included valves are absolute garbage; they rapidly leak air out AS you're pumping it in. Total junk. I'm deducting one star for this obvious failure. If you're buying these tires, have some reliable brass valves ready.

Geweldig! Stijver, lichter, strakker. Niet gedacht dat dit zo’n groot verschil maakt tov standaard wielen. Bike snijdt door de wind, versnelt met veel minder moeite. Prachtige wielen met mooie bescheiden tektst er op.

These are my first carbon wheel set and they feel great. Faster & lighter without felling flexy or fragile. At 220 pounds these are big pluses. Momentum can be carried to shoot up rollers nicely. No KOM at my weight but definitely improves the average mph on rides.

Perfect wheelset for gravel! Very high quality for the price.

Light, fast Great wheelset

Fantastic wheelset for the money -- light and fast. They spin up quickly and seem to be extremely rugged.

I have to hand it to Specialized - you aren’t gonna find a lighter set of wide, all road carbon disc wheels (with DT hubs and an amazing warranty/crash replacement policy) for less. Getting these on sale (Black Friday) made an excellent deal into amazing one. Lastly, tubeless setup was a breeze. I’m super impressed.

Light wheelset, VERY difficult to put Specialized tires

These wheels are comparable to Firecrest 303, in dimension and weight, but for far less cost, and backed by Specialized. Hub came with slightly too much grease, but upgraded to 54T ratchet and adjusted grease volume then. Purchased this set to keep with me as I go between climbing and endurance bikes, since it can accommodate as low as 28’s. Great set!

Light, fast and quiet at a very good price for carbon.

Fitted with Shwalbe Pro Ones in 30mm and they look and feel great. Holding pressure very well as tubeless setup with Orange Endurance. The valve stems seem a bit low quality compared to MucOffs I have used in past but no issues as of yet. As expected they are much lighter and more responsive than my previous stock rims and Im very pleased with the overall performance on road. Have not taken on gravel as I wanted for a road wheelset with wide internal rim dims. Love the ease of serviceability of the hubs once I get to that point. Two thumbs up.
