After suffering multiple tier punctures I switched to the Armadillo 700x30c belted tire. Upon installation, I immediately observed a lower rolling resistance and also great road grip. Love the belted design which will help with tire punctures. I strongly recommend this brand!
100% recomendable
These are just right for my style of riding. Mostly pavement with broken asphalt and gravel shoulders that I have to dive into occasionally, and some smooth gravel roads. They are fast rolling with just enough volume and traction to make for a smooth, capable ride.
I absolutely LOVE these tires! I really liked the stock Specialized Roadsport Reflect tires and the rear lasted about 3,000 miles on my not-so-smooth New England packed gravel roadways. Should've rotated them since the fronts were still fine. But wanted to try something with a little more flat protection and a wider point of contact surface (but still staying with the same 32mm) and these are perfect. They are quieter on the smoother roads and I love the range of psi I have now. 75 up to 100. Versus the Roadsports 85-95 I think it was. Now I can play around with more options to dial it in but I've been living at 95 in the back and 85 in front (I'm 215 lbs) and even at 100psi they are still comfortable. Not chattery or a hard, stiff ride. Just a bit firm I'd call it at 100psi. And cornering is even better than the Roadsports which were really good. Haven't tried them in the rain but I prefer to avoid rain anyways when I ride. The reflectiveness is the same as the Roadsport which is super bright. So I'm rotating these every 1500 or less miles to get more out of them. But then again I may just let the back wear down and then just have to buy a new rear instead of 2. Either way I think these will probably outlast the Roadsports. Not that this is important but these are a good looking tire as well (I have a 2022 Specialized Sirrus 4.0 flat bar road bike)
Won’t use anything else. I’ve never had one punctured from the outside, and I’ve 34K miles on my bike.
Smooth fast rolling and so far very durable
Good quality items. Will buy another pair for my second bike.
The 700x 32c tire is a perfect match for the one on the front of my wife’s Specialized Vita Sport. The one that it replaced had developed a few too many cracks. She really likes these tires, they give lots of traction and the sale price was excellent.
Awesome tires, great grip, easy install!
I live in California, where it never rains. I ride mostly on asphalt bike lines. Little asphalt pebbles stick to these like glue. It's quite funny to see a bunch of little pebbles hanging on while the tires rotates, can't be good for it. I often find myself picking little pebbles off the tire while waiting at stop lights. These did take nail without a flat, though I did do ride with Tannus Armour inserts. My bike orginally came with Pathfinder reflects, but those got shredded by the usual bike lane debris.
These tires are great. The original tires had 2400 miles on the and I felt it was time to replace them. These are an upgraded version of the original. Which were excellent .
Flat free for 6 years on my tandems. Perfect compromise tire for gravel and pavement on rail-trails. Thousands of flat free miles, which is a remarkable feat on a tandem. I have purchased at least 5 sets over the years and it is the only tire that gives me piece of mind when we are 20+ miles from our car.
The best road tires made.
Specialized makes great tires for bikes built for years of flat-free riding, especially when coupled with thorn - resistant inner tubes. I bike ten miles each way each day to work, so Specialized will continue to be my go-to home for new tires every two years willy nilly
Was hesitant to buy because it cost as much or more than my car tire. Smooth running tire with good traction. Bought this because there's a lot of thorns and glass where I ride. Never had a flat since I.had them. Worth the price.
Replaced the tires on my Sirrus with these as I usually ride 4, 30 mile rides a week and had my first flat on the original tires at 2500 miles. Installed these yesterday, went out this morning and had a flat within 4 miles of my home. Small piece of metal. I had used the black belts version on my wife's bike after she kept getting flats on her original tires while riding the rail trail and she hasn't had a flat since. I should have bought the blackbelts and saved a few dollars instead of buying the higher protection armadillos.
Even with thicker inner tubes, my non-Armadillo rear tire got a flat after 1K miles. I replaced it with a Nimbus 2 Armadillo Reflect 650b x 2.3. After an additional 2K miles I have had no flats on either tire. I know I am hitting sharp stones because I hear lots of loud pops coming from the rear tire. The Armadillo is slightly heavier than the non-Armadillo, but on a Como e-bike, both ride the same.
