Great Alpha insulated jacket

This jacket is a great fit for me as a regular "club" rider. I was specifically looking for a jacket with the Alpha insulation as I have an Alpha vest which is excellent. Specialized sizing is frustrating - I range medium to XL depending on the item, so I put this as "runs large" since *most* often I am a Large in Specialized clothing

Versatile piece of kit.

Lightweight and compresses reasonably well. Great as a wind-proof outer layer around 0-10 C, works well as a mid-layer when colder. Breathes well and easy to ventilate with a full zip. Crucially it's got a bit of stretch and isn't 'Euro roadie' cut so you can avoid looking like you've been vacuum-packed if you want to call into a cafe mid or post-ride. Low cut, hand pockets good when not riding but I'd of liked a chest pocket for phone access when wearing a riding pack. A good DWR layer would add to its versatility.

Warm, breathable, great fitting

I'm 5'10" and 165 pounds. The medium is true to size from the neck, arms, and waist. There is no waist cinch or external chest pocket. Cuffs are tight, no closures. Two large hand pockets, two-way zipper, and a side zip that allows for jersey pocket access. Unlike some garments this has Alpha covering the entire inside. Very warm (would not wear in 45F+ even with wicking lightweight base), expect to cut out at least one layer in freezing temps. Obviously not waterproof, it provides enough repellency like a good softshell. Easily doubles as a casual jacket without shouting "look at me, I ride bikes!" Try to find it on sale and you'll have an indispensable cold weather garment. A solid A+ effort by Specialized and Polartec.

Great jacket. It's loose fit.

Great jacket. It's loose fit. I usually wear jerseys in size large and therefore got the jacket in Large first. Turned out that Medium is better fit for me. This is my everyday walk around jacket.

First jacket I've had that seems to ""know"" the weather. Hard to describe. The jacket feels light and unsubstantial in your hand. Once on, it seems to know exactly how warm you need to be. It actually feels breathable at the same time. Amazing.
