The Hillbilly GRID 2Bliss Ready tire is a perfect option for front tire use when the course features intermediate to soft terrain. When the soil is changing from hard to soft, the small blocks penetrate the ground surface and better connect you to the trail. Small surface centre knobs also increase the load on the ground and help surface penetration, while the shoulder knob row provides support in fast turns on all surfaces. Our GRIPTON® compound, meanwhile, improves high frequency damping, better attaching the tire to the ground over small bumps and rough sections alike. This also means that the low frequencies of the rolling tire deflections pass through unfiltered, leaving no energy to be absorbed and keeping your speed high. Please note that we recommend GRID tires for anyone seeking the utmost in flat and sidewall protection or additional stability.

  • Casing: Additional cap ply for exceptional durability, plus added sidewall stiffness for enhanced stability.

  • Bead: Foldable

  • Butyl wrapped bead = 2Bliss Ready

  • Compound: GRIPTON®

Crazy good tire!

Trail riding with nightly tropical rain showers almost every night of the year leaving the trails incredibly slippery with mud, greasy rocks, and the slickest roots, most of them off camber. Used Minions for many years because they were recommended as the best but never found them confidence inspiring. 29 x 2.6 hillbilly on the front for the past two months and it has been so much better than any other tire I have ever run it is literally almost unbelievable. Lateral slippage on roots/rocks is minimal & gives good warning with very quick recovery compared to any other tire (in the past I've also run Specialized Purgatory/Butcher (Earlier version not the 2020), Tioga, Kenda, WTB). I have yet to slide out even though I am now going faster than ever before. Still have a DHR II 2.6 on the rear and it is absolutely scary how much and how often it slides compared to the front. Putting a hillbilly on the rear immediately. Absolutely the best tire I have ever run for my conditions. Rolling resistance seems negligible for such a large knob tire. Some squirm on asphalt but that is to be expected & doesn't bother me. Advertised weight of 1010 g but mine weighed 967 g. Finally a decent tire I can trust in bad conditions.

Great tyre even in really sloppy mud!

Can't really fault this tyre other than has a little rolling resistance but that's to be expected with a mud tyre. It has the best grip I have ever seen on mtb tyres, even in deep mud and slippery rocks! They were easy enough to install and shed mud ridiculously well with them still looking fresh out of the box after a long muddy ride. They came three days early and packaged very smart with a very fancy black envelope. Fantastic for winter in the uk, I'll continue to use them for years to come!

Would buy again every day of the week

Amazing tyre! Brought it in a 27.5 x 2.3 and the grip is amazing. I can ride faster than ever and lean over more with this tyre then I could before with a high roller 2 on the front. Rolls quicker than that high roller on concrete, and is a great tyre. Very easy to fit with no tyre levers and it looks the part too. I can't fault this tyre, gripped up even on gravelly sections, and when it did slip on gravel it was a controlled slip, whereas my high roller would have washed out.
