With multiple easy setups, this stem really helps the rider to find his optimal position without breaking the bank. She is the likes of around 50g heavier than light weight specialized stems, but who cares about 50g when you get more comfort and peace of mind of having found your riding position? Soon as you settle on your preferred stem angle, you can then buy your high dollar expensive stem.
I ordered the 24 degree stem due to neck issues. This stem made a significant improvement in providing a more comfortable riding position. It is also of very high quality manufacture.
Being an older rider I needed a more comfortable fit on my new Creo 2 and with the shorter 90mm stem with the better angle options its made my rides that much more comfortable!
Excellent angle to make my bike more comfortable
I was looking to move my handlebars back and up to relieve some of the pressure on my hands. I wanted to move a little at a time, and although I haven’t done much riding this spring, this stem seems to be helping.
Perfect fit with the included shims. I needed a shorter stem to dial in my reach and this did the job. Used a video to help with the install and make sure I was doing it safely. First ride with the new stem was great. Nice adjustable design.
This will fine tune your cockpit!
I gave the Comp Multi Stem four stars because it’s a good but not great stem. It’s a solid workhorse and a good value. Possibly the best thing about the stem is the availability of a good range of sizes with different stem angles. I needed a stem that would get my handlebars as low as possible, and the 24 degree stem did the job. It comes with shims to fit a variety of steerer tube and handlebar sizes as well. I’m guessing it’s used a lot in bike shops for making fit adjustments on customers bikes.
Perfect! Greatly improved my riding position and was fairly straightforward to install. Lots of adjustability, just make sure you pay attention to alignment and orientation of the sleeves and cap. Plus (+) on the thick side, minus (-) on the thin!
Really helpful to be able to dial in the fit with the adjustability of the stem. This with a minimal cost in terms of weight >> win, win.
This stem was perfect for what ails me, and that is an increasingly sore back! I am 60 and coming to the realization that I am losing flexibility, so I needed a way to raise my bars without having to get a new fork. The system of offset milled rings to achieve degrees of tilt is a brilliant and simple design that gives me the ability to continue adjusting stem angle by just swapping out rings. It is also very well made and strong for the price. A great value.
THANK you for helping me decide the right ride for me. the Changes are a BIG improvement!!
Bought this to improve comfort/geometry & it helps considerably. We’ll made & easy to install.
Like the build quality and the flexibility of different angles
Easy to install good quality
Very sturdy and well built. Attractive and tasteful design.
Like most Specialized parts, very nicely made unit, fits exactly as I wanted it to, got my reach where I needed it to be. No other comment other than it is nice these days to open a box and find a well crafted part inside that does what it says it can do.
It really helped the cyclist palsy. My hands don't go numb right away anymore. Thanks!
Good quality and good looks. You can’t do better than this one.
Well made quality item at a competitive price. Even the instructions were useful.
Excellent. Installed the comp multi stem on my Rockhopper and it has improved my reach and raised my handlebars at the same time. It has made a significant difference to my comfort and front vision. Great product.
I found it helped me have a more comfortable riding position
After herniating and lumbar disc the aero race bike was hard to ride. From. 7 degrees down to 8 degrees up. . This stem allowed me to keep my Tarmac SL7 which I love. A bit less aero but still a blast to ride. The stem’s finish is top notch and it’s adjustability is awesome. Works for us older riders who live to ride.
I appreciate the length and angle of this stem. It allows me to position the stem at the top for more upright riding or down lower for more aerodynamic performance and the length remedies the cramped cockpit feeling.
I interchanged the longer stem on my specialised bike with this shorter 75mm one. It was a bit of an experiment but certainly has improved my riding posture and leg connection. Also able to play with the angle through the range of inserts that comes with it. I would certainly recommend if you feel your back is overstretching or too much pressure on your hands (cramps).
I have a Specialized Diverge (2018) and stripped one of the bolt holes on the stock stem (factory +/- 7 Deg). I've wanted to experiment with more aggressive stems but didn't want the bulk of adjustable stems and didn't want to spend a fortune on different stems. This is an EXCELLENT compromise. I had no issue with fitting the stem to the future shock. The only draw back is that the original (to the bike) stem cap will only work with the +/- 2 and +/- 0 shims. It does not fit with the +/- 4 shim. For that shim, I used the supplied cap (which is meant to be used for a standard steering tube), and used a rubber o-ring to seal the gap between the stem and the cap. Remember the stem cap is primarily decorative and not really functional on a Diverge. I think Specialized could have done a better job of designing this to work with the Diverge, but over all, it is a minor inconvenience.
Great if you're not yet decided in your definitive degree. Stealthy black doesn't dispair with the rest of components
Being a bit more upright has allowed me to stay on the bike longer. Great product as is, but could be better with a lighter version of it.
It pays to find your sweet spot in your bike geometry. This stem allowed me to try several configurations without having to buy several separate stems. Super happy how it's worked out. Having my bars a bit higher helped relieve my neck pain. I ride farther now with more comfort.
I went to the Concept Store and they were very helpful and made sure i had the right spacers/shims and bolt and it fitted absolutely fine. Ive now been able to shorten my reach by 25mm and the bike now feels like it was made to measure.
This is a nice stem with some adjustability. It feels quality made and had a very nice finish to it. The black on black is very minimal and exactly what I was looking for. I like to two separate clamps on the front instead of a full plate which tends to markup the bar a bit more.
