Big guys roll nice

I am still riding a 2006 Stumpjumper Expert. These tires, which I just put on about a week ago, are labelled 2.35 rather than 2.3 and are about the largest tires I can put on the bike and still clear the rear seatstays. In fact, the occasional pebble gets momentarily caught in the stays! These seem significantly larger in circumference and girth than my old 26 x 2.3 Ground Control tires, which were pretty long in the tooth. So they slow the steering quickness slightly, all else being equal. It is getting pretty hard to find decent 26 inch tires since the industry has gone to 29 and 27.5, so I am happy to have found these. So far, so good. Thanks, Specialized!

Great fast tyre

I brought these tyre to replace the bontrager tyres that came standard on my trek mtb and instantly noticed less rolling resistance and better speed, slightly less grip on loose or muddy tracks but still pretty good.

Get the tubless option if you can

I've had my RH COMP 29er that comes standard with these for a just over a month now and have put in about 100 miles of trail and paved roads combined. It's a great hard tail trail bike and commuter but I've had 3 puntures in that before mentioned time and it's getting tiring. Wish I had gone with a tubless combatable tire option as all 3 punctures have been from roots or similar bumps that seem to be pinching around the spokes leaving 1 or more spoke pinch puntures from not very extreme riding. Going to experimemt with different tire pressures and maybe some extra rim tape but other than that they handle great and I've only felt minimal slidding when pushed hard so the grip is great and it seems like the puncture issues are a 50/50 when it comes to these tires and I am unfortunately on the 50% unlucky side.

Decent handling, fast rolling, great puncture protection

These came standard on my Rockhopper Comp 29er. Have lasted around 2500km on mostly hard single track, gravel roads and 4WD tracks. Have been very fast-rolling and pretty decent grip. I see there are conflicting reviews in relation to puncture protection, in my experience, these have been pretty good, especially for the price. At one point I pulled 15 bindi eyes out of the front tyre and no punctures. However, that's not to say these tires are puncture-proof, I have definitely got punctures, but they are puncture resistant.

not a great tire for off the beaten path

I ride on moderate smooth trails with some roots and rocks got punctures in no time with this tire switched to the butcher grid and the eliminator so far much happier.(even though I tore the butcher sidewall) The ground control tire while it had air in it was great for grip rolling and design. I woupd recommend to someone who stays on nice stuff.

Great tire for a good price

I have a pitch 27.5 running these. and I honestly couldn't be happier with these. from owning it for a year, the only punctures I've had were very, very small ones. only a tube needed replacement. these bad boys have survived countless hard impacts in sharp curbs. finally wore mine out so I definitely will be rocking a new set.
