A wonderful bike, but size it for yourself with care.

This is a quality hardtail that gives you a lot for your money. I chose this bike based on my ownership of a previous rockhopper. The frame geometry has changed compared to my old rockhopper and the sizing was more difficult to determine than expected. Since I’m 6’1” the size guide suggested I get a large size frame, but if I could go back and choose differently I’d definitely get a medium. Otherwise this bike gives you a lot- the drivetrain and front fork are superb. The shifting is spot on and the peddling experience is very tight and efficient. I also like how adding a dropper was effortless. Do yourself a favor if you get this bike by getting some good pedals at the same time. The ones they include are junk.

    Pretty good

I got this bike last year and have taken it on a couple hard rides. I feel like it was a good solid bike but, the brakes could be a little better. Compared to the Scott scale 980 which is about a hundred dollars less than this bike, I would choose the Scott because of its breaks and its fork.

Great bike stock parts aren't the best

ive had this bike for about 5 months and the judy has served me well and the drivetrain has as well. i can't really complain, its a entry level bike. i have put some decent money into it so far and it rides great. I got some ergon ge1s for it because the stock grips are pretty bad like any, i also got a mudguard. I purchased some new tires for it, one maxxis high roller and one maxxis disector and i can't complain. it helps that the rims are tubeless ready. all in all i think this bike has some flaws like bad stock grips, a low travel fork and a dropper but i think you could get something for a couple hundred dollars more that could serve you longer. i think its a great bike for beginners who are looking for an entry level hardtail

    Awsome bike for beginners

I got this bike two months ago and I have probably ridden it 7 times on trails. It is super solid and a lot of fun. The Shocks feel great and it seems to roll over things really well.

    Would buy again

This bike is great for a beginner-intermediate rider. It has some tricks up it's sleeve if you'd like to get into upgrading. The tires come tubeless ready which is extremely nice, also the seat is droppers seat post compatible so all you need to do is get a kit and install it. The 1x10 allows for the bike to be lighter and easier to climb on. I ride this bike on hard core trails, and it does everything completely fine. If you buy this bike you surely won't regret it.

    An excellent bike

I just got this bike a month ago and it is solid as a rock. The Judy fork makes for a smooth ride and the shifting is seamless. I can't wait to take it out and ride it more, it is more than worth the money.

    Awesome bike!

Spot on gear changes and smooth mechanically. Very solid ride. I haven't ridden regularly in a few decades, but this bike makes me want to go ride. It's that good. Feel the power: get a Rockhopper Elite 29.

Great bike for a great price.

I just got this bike and love it so far. The Rock Shox Judy are a smooth ride and well worth the upgrade. The option for tubeless tires gives variety and versatility.
