Looking for a bike that soars as well as it sprints? Look no further than the Epic EVO Expert.

Wheels up or head down, the Epic EVO Expert’s masterful blending of inspired handling, capable geometry and laser-focused pedaling efficiency makes sure no rider ever has to make the decision between fast and fun.

While the Epic EVO sees a seemingly modest 20-millimeter increase in suspension travel up front over its Epic stablemate and just 10-millimeters out back, we’ve worked overtime to make sure it’s been implemented in a way that’ll have you saying ‘Whoa!’ as soon as you hit your first stretch of singletrack.

Meticulously engineered to retain as much of the Epic’s standard-setting efficiency as possible, the EVO’s new suspension kinematics work in concert with Rx XC Tune customized suspension front and rear to ensure you're able to make the absolute most out of every inch of travel on tap, while still offering increased anti-squat characteristics for improved pedaling efficiency.

With plenty of practice at staying ahead of the curve, the Epic EVO now lays claim to the most capable iteration of our Progressive XC Geometry ever to grace an Epic. It’s also more versatile than ever thanks to a new flip chip-equipped rear end that allows riders to adjust headtube angle and bottom bracket height to easily customize Epic EVO’s handling characteristics.

SRAM's high-flying GX Eagle AXS group handles shifting duties, while RockShox's SID Select+ is firmly in charge of takeoffs and landings with it's capable Charger 2 RL damper.

  • Flip It To Rip It: Tune the ride of the Epic EVO’s FACT 11m carbon frame to match your preferred handling characteristics with flip-chip simplicity that allows riders to reduce the EVO’s headtube angle by half a degree while lowering bottom bracket height by 10 millimeters.

  • Suspension up front comes courtesy of RockShox's SID Select+ 120-millimeter fork, featuring their Charger 2 RL Damper with two-postion compression adjustment for impressive pedaling efficiency while the DebonAir spring offers easy tuning and consistent feel throughout the entire range of travel.

  • X-Fusion's Manic dropper post offers infinitely adjustable travel via it's slick shifter-stye remote lever for hassle-free operation when things get dicey.

  • Descending from a long World Cup lineage, hand-built Roval Control Carbon wheels feature a modern 29-millimeter internal-width hookless rim, and maximize strength, ride quality, and durability while keeping weight to a minimum.

The bike makes me always happy and takes all the abuse and above!

Have it now almost a year, coming from trail bikes in the past but wan't to ride longer rides with a light bike but be able to take it in the mountains, this is the one for all. Stumpjumer is to much and to heavy for me with the riding I am doing now. I even went to ride trails in a mtb park. This is an incredible strong bike. When it gets rough i put on the Ground Controls Grid front and back. All year round i use Ground Control S-Works front with a Fast track in the back. Upgraded it with carbon handlebar and reverb axs dropper. Not changing anything before it breaks. Color is awesome.

Best Mountain Bike I’ve Owned

I’ve been mountain biking for over 30 years. My last bike before the Epic EVO Expert was a Giant Trance Comp Carbon 27.5. I wanted a 29er that was great at climbing but was worried about losing suspension travel. The Epic exceeds all of my expectations. I’m climbing as well as in my 20s and my downhill runs are comparable to those on my Trance. The Epic is the best mountain bike I’ve owned.

Cool Whip

Climbs like a hardtail and descends like an Enduro! Ok, that’s a bit of an exaggeration, or is it..probably yes, but you see where I’m going here. This bike gives you the best of XC Racing, All Mountain, and getting nasty on that decent!

Impressed & Surprised By Comfort & Speed.

I've had my Epic Evo Expert for 1 week. Very impressed and surprised at how comfortable it feels. It's plush in the open setting and pedals effortlessly like a hardtail without needing to be locked out. I experienced some pedal bobbing until I set the suspension up to be on the firmer side for my weight. Still playing around with damping along with the contact points to dial the bike in but so far so good. Components are great also. Always liked the nice 'snap' sound of the X01 drivetrain (GX cassette). The.G2 RS brakes seem to be better than the previous G2 RSC brakes on my last bike. The RS seem to be quieter and less prone to squealing in the wet which is nice. Love the carbon Roval wheels and the Ground Control tires are surprisingly comfy without being wishy-washy. Bottom line... Specialized have 'nailed it' with this bike. The Epic Evo is balanced, poised and contemporary. Ticks every box. Very happy chappy :)

What a Difference

I was riding an old (2002) S-Works 26" alloy framed bike and it served me well, but I knew it was time for a change. The dealer let me ride an Epic on my local trails to see what it was like and I fell in love. Not only the 29" wheels, but also the geometry was way different. Since I'm not racing, the race Epic wasn't as appropriate as the Epic Evo for my riding. I'd never spent so much on a bike purchase, but I have no regrets - best bike I've ever ridden!

Love This Bike

I love this bike. I owned an Epic hardtail prior to this and loved it too however I wanted to get a full suspension so I tried a longer travel and really missed the sleek and lighter profile of my Epic. This Epic Evo ended up being perfect for me. Its super light and is really fun to ride. FYI- I tried a NON- SRAM rear Cassette on a ride thinking that AXS specific components were kind of gimmicky and wouldn't really make a difference but I was wrong. It wasn't terrible but made clanky noises on shifts so I went back to a AXS specific combination and it was amazingly quiet. Just thought I would pass that information on. Perfect bike for my trails. Highly recommend. The Specialized Mirror seats are awesome too for an upgrade.

It does what's it's supposed to...and very well

I had an earlier (2015) Epic (pure Cross Country) and really loved how nimble it was. But as I began to go a bit chunkier on the trail, I felt I needed something stouter. I went to the Stumpy in 2019 and could do much gnarlier trails. But as time went on--and I hit 70, I was getting tired of pushing said Stumpy up hills--and I was looking more for just a good off-road fitness trainer. I purchased the Epic Expert Evo. It has been a great bike and answered my needs for something a little stouter than a Cross Country bike, but light enough to do 50 milers with some zing. Great bike. Great workmanship.
