Whether your goal is to escape on gravel back roads, far from cars and crowds, toe the start line at your first gravel race, or simply get the most versatile bike on the road or dirt, no bike is better than the new Diverge. It's quite simply the fastest, most capable - and just maybe the most fun - alloy bike we've ever made, delivering a ride that's quick and lively, but stable and confidence inspiring when the terrain gets rough. With all-new gravel geometry and category leading tire clearance, the new Diverge represents everything we've learned over more than 40 years of riding road, gravel and dirt. The Diverge writes an entirely new chapter in the gravel bike category, so you can dream up entirely new rides. It's the ultimate getaway vehicle.

The Diverge Elite E5 utilizes our premium E5 alloy frame and a full carbon FACT fork for a fast, confident and comfortable ride on road, in the dirt, and over thick gravel. Shimano's gravel inspired GRX 400 group shifts 2x10 gears smoothly on any terrain and Axis Elite alloy wheels with Road Sport 35mm tires provide an efficient ride on pavement with the versatility for hard pack dirt riding.

  • Our Premium E5 Aluminum frame provides a stiff, light, and durable platform. When mated to our full carbon FACT fork, the Diverge Elite E5 becomes a light, lively and versatile bike ready to attack any surface.

  • We tossed gravel geometry ‘status-quo’ out the window. The new Diverge has the most progressive geometry we’ve ever created for a drop bar bike, giving riders a capable and stable bike in the dirt, that still feels responsive and nimble on the road. We’ve increased the frame’s reach, introduced a slacker head tube and a longer offset fork. All this creates incredible confidence with a planted feeling in the dirt, while spec’ing shorter stems keeps the overall cockpit length the same and the steering lively. We’ve kept the bike’s BB low to increase stability, but high enough to utilize with 650b wheels if that’s your jam.

  • We’ve given the Diverge plenty of rack mounts, including fork and top tube mounts, to ensure you can take what you need, no matter how far you plan to go, or how long you plan to stay out.

  • Nothing unlocks a bike’s capability like tire clearance, so we gave the new Diverge a whopping 47mm of tire clearance with a 700c wheel and 2.1” with a 650b wheel. Thanks to a drive side chain stay utilizing a machined alloy beam behind the chain rings we’ve created clearance without using a fragile dropped chain stay design or increasing chain stay length.

Great all-rounder - 5 Stars of Fun

It is the heaviest bike I own but it doesn't feel like it. It rides much lighter than it actually is. The comfort, handling and versatility make it my most fun bike to ride. Explore places and trails you wouldn't go with a road bike and still ride paved roads to get there. The bike excels at both. Loaded up for multi day bikepacking/camping trips, it really shines. It is solid, smooth, comfortable yet you still can ride at a decent pace to put some miles behind you. Mine came with 700x38 Pathfinder Sport which are probably the best all around tires for road, gravel or trail, adjusting the pressure to fit the surface. Consider rounding up on the size if you have long legs. 4,000 miles - No regrets. This bike is an absolute joy to ride. I take it everywhere so naturally it gets knocked around a bit, used but never abused. Carbon would hold me back although it would ride smoother. Not worth the trade off to me. This bike is built to ride rain or shine and it it does so superbly!

Love My Bike

Kickass bike that only rides SMOOTHER the more weight you put on it. I use mine for touring and have put many many kms on it. Very lightweight and truly goes ANYWHERE...long distances, dirt roads with big rocks, mud etc I call it my orange Cadillac.

Quality fun bike

I got the orangeish color and wow, it's stunning. The paintwork is very impressive. The grx400 drivetrain is super nice, and the hydraulic disk brakes are a big upgrade. I ride mostly road and it does seem a tad bit slower than my older trek 1500 with 23's, but that's expected. I'll gladly trade a little speed for versatility! The internal cable routing is also great. Plenty of mounting points for bottle cages, fenders etc. Overall it just screams quality and is super fun to ride.

Rating = Skill+Opinion

Picked up the Specialized D-Elite E5 at LBS so the first thing if Specialized is out of a tire it'll come with a different tire, mine came with RoadSport 35mm as noted on the LBS website not Pathfinder on the Specialized website. Color on websites doesn't do the Orange Satin finish justice, SWEEEET! I picked up the 52cm and will probably replace stock drops with 44cm Woodchippers since the stock is pretty narrow for my 5'6"" frame. Kudos to Specialized for the clear frame protectors, especially located on chainstay and downtube, mounts are numerous and gears to barkes flawless. After the first 27 miler, not 2 miles to finish back went flat and that was 50% hard, soft, rubble, rocky desert blown course and thorn was barely noticeable at the exterior but could be felt interior of the tire. Not sure why Specialized chose a wheel that isn't recommended to go tubeless due to leaks but for the extra weight, I added sealant to the tubes, and YES the cores were removable. FYI, if ya haven't read it anywhere, bike shop mechanics are not recommending using this wheelset tubeless due to leaks. Fun, light (for me), fast Great Color and decent components for the price; Thanks Specialized for my first Specialized.
