I've loved to ride for 50+ years. I'd been riding a 52 cm Trek Madone 7.9 WSD for almost 10 years. As I'd aged, and given that I have rheumatoid arthritis, I'd found the Madone less comfortable. We'd put a shorter stem on it, cut the seat post down, etc., anything to bring me closer to the bars without getting my knees too far out over my toes. I rode 5,414 miles outdoors and on Zwift during the first year of the pandemic.
I had a bike fitting with one of those Guru devices. Of course, at 5' 3.5" and being female, the bike expert said my 52 was far too big for me. He recommended an endurance geometry in 44 cm.
I got the nicest Roubaix I could. I adore it. I rode 6,114 miles in 2022, and I can't wait for the outdoor season to begin again. For now, Zwift keeps me happy, I love that this bike fits me perfectly, that my riding position is aggressive but comfortable, I love the handling, the fine components, the wider tires, etc. It's perfect.
