Cooler heads will always prevail. The new S-Works Prevail II Vent’s massive cooling power helps better regulate your body’s temperature to keep you cooler so that you’ll always be ready when your ride heats up.
We took everything that the S-Works Prevail II was doing right, and did it even better. One of the greatest benefits resulted from the removal of a total of seven foam “bridges” from the center and sides to create more effective ventilation channels. These expanded channels move air across your head 18% faster than the original Prevail II. The faster air moves across your head, the faster heat is whisked away from your head and the cooler you remain—it’s called “convective heat transfer”. This all adds up to the coolest helmet we’ve ever made.
For helmets sold in the U.S. and Canada: Complies with U.S. CPSC Safety Standard for Bicycle Helmets for Persons Age 5 and Older.
The new 5th Dimension Cooling System, with its redesigned, patent pending, aramid-reinforced skeleton, provides internal EPS support allowing for 20% larger vents with deep internal channels and aligned exhaust ports.
Our ultralight and supremely comfortable version of MIPS, MIPS SL, has only gotten better. We’ve added perforations, along with a ripstop mesh to maximize breathability and performance. With MIPS SL, we’ve essentially integrated MIPS technology within the helmet padding itself. MIPS SL's minimalist "watchband" attachment system provides 10 to 15 millimeters of rotation in every direction and offers the same brain protection benefits as other versions of MIPS, while also ushering in a new level of comfort and weight savings.
Patent pending Energy Optimized Multi-Density EPS construction helps to manage impact energy.
Ultralight Mindset HairPort II micro-dial fit system with height adjustability for the perfect fit.
Thin, soft, and lightweight 4X DryLite webbing won’t stretch out with sweat or water.
Tri-Fix web splitter improves comfort and ease of strap adjustments, while an in-strap webbing system delivers ultralight construction and security.
Five Star Virginia Tech® Helmet Rating ™—Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University awarded the helmet its highest rating of five stars.

I have a large head with a narrow profile and a generally oval shape, a pretty much worst case scenario for fitting a helmet. The Prevail takes care of this nicely, mostly eliminating the excess gap on the side of my previous size L helmet from another brand, while giving adequate clearance front and rear. For the first time ever, I have a helmet that both fits snugly and allows me to comfortably wear a skullcap underneath. Hopefully I never have to find out how it fits in a crash but it's absolutely less likely to flop up and expose my forehead due to this fit, which is a problem I've had on two occasions with other helmets designed for more circular heads than mine.
Had the worst crash of my life 6 weeks ago! fractured vertebrae in neck, compressed 3 vertebrae in back, broke 5 ribs with 2 displaced and collarbone took a plate with 12 screws and bone graft to put back together. Helmet was broken and i ended up with a small bruise and tiny cut on head where helmet hit the ground. Definitely will get another one of these helmets before i'm able to get back on bike.
I came on here to buy second one of these helmets. I'm currently in hospital after surgery on my arm. I crashed, the helmet broke, but it did its job. The only part of me that's not cut, broken or bruised is my head! This helmet simply works.
I used this helmet for sometimes. Got into an accident, got 2 brain injuries. Doctors examined and said your brain survived due to helmet. I can say it with confidence that it is one of the safest helmet in the market. Apart from safety, it looks cool and perfect feeling for ride.
Great Helmet, highly recommended
I was in a minor crash this last weekend and when my head hit the pavement it felt like it hit a pillow. Very thankful I had this helmet on. The one issue I have is the straps that go by the ear not being adjustable but overall great helmet. Will be looking into the warranty replacement program since I’ve only had it a couple months.
Not sure how cool it is in summer, I used it about 8 times in Colorado’s late winter. It is light, which is what I thought I was looking for. It protrudes high above my head which made me hesitate on keeping, but I thought it might help provide protection in a crash. Now I feel that cables that hold it together and the tall profile make excessive noise while descending. The pads, which are slightly oversized, have started coming off, just after the return window closed. More are on the way, but may need trimming to prevent them coming off. I’ll be looking for a more aero profile like I’ve seen on riders from England.
Comfortable, light weight, adjustable although chin strap adjustment is not the best around the ears if you have a small head / or are female. My last one ( which was new) saved my head when a motorcycle crashed into my rear wheel. Damaged helmet hence this replacements , but I was OK!
It's nice this classic helmet now has the upgraded MIPS system in it.
It’s a great helmet.
Size is big and the shape is more round than oval so the fit is off
Prevail has been my favorite helmet for a long time.
This is my second Prevail and I am very happy with the fit on this one. Great helmet for my opinion
Great product. Good price with the sale and excellent customer support.
Great helmet.Thats all i can say about it
After a few years with another helmet brand switched back to the Prevail and what a difference in comfort, fit and weight. There is an additional benefit knowing your head is well protected. Great personal service too from Specialized when the order went astray.
Everything is good
Comfort. Airflow. Fit. All good.
I have always loved the prevail fits my head like a glove and definitely has protection in a crash. I would definitely recommend this helmet.
I find this helmet very comfortable..
Sadly I bought this helmet during winter and haven’t had much chances to wear outside yet, but it fit like a glove right out of the box. It sits comfortably on my long oval head, with no noticeable pressure points. The harness on the back is spacious enough for my ponytail to get through, and the height is very adjustable to really caress your head. My only real complaint is the lack of adjustability in the ear areas of the straps, they fit fine, though it would be nice if they sat just a bit lower under my ears. All in all, as someone who’s struggled with finding a helmet that was long, and narrow. I’m happy to have the prevail 2 on my head.
Updated version of the helmet I already own. Very light and comfortable.
Pressure on the forehead makes it uncomfortable. Best to try it on first.
I wanted to love this helmet, it looks good, price was right, it scored a high 5 in the Virginia Tech Helmet Ratings, and you could stash sunglasses....but I guess I have a round head and felt some pressure points. So I had to return. If you have a narrow head then this should be a fine helmet.
It’s been my favourite always! I’ve been using it since I remember
Great helmet
My 3rd one of these helmets. Light, comfortable, now with MIPS and a good fit for me. What a great price too.
Amazing helmet! I ordered the Small, after using the sizing chart. However it was wayyyy to small and actually hurt to put on. After sizing up to a medium, the best helmet ever. So comfy, light, and a space to put your ponytail through. The only downfall is the size guide nothing bad to say on the product.
Excellent experience shopping made so easy
I have had two of theses helmets, the first one was in a serious accident where I was hit by a truck and it my head on the pavement and the helmet cracked and I didn’t feel it, I walked away without any head issues. The second one hadron when I had a fall on a trail and hit my head, the helmet cracked and I did have any head issues. I have ordered a third one now.
The helmet is unbelieveable. I was using a Align 2 and the airflow of the Prevail 2 Vent made the Align seem like I was wearing a bucket on my head. SoCal summers are too hot, 95-100 degrees common in my area so you have to get out early. The Align had me sweating so much, I had to pull over every 10 minutes and take my helmet off and wipe my eyes. The Prevail Vent 2 was a rush of air over my head through those big cutuots, it probably helps that I am pretty bald on top so I can really feel the air pass over my head! But the helmet is just awesome and worth every penny. It fits great, is very comfortable and looks awesome. Specialized is having a sale on them right now for $175.00. You will not be disappointed.
This is a really nice warm weather helmet with great ventilation and feels very light on the head.
Light weight and airy. Only thing missing is a visor but no one seems to do them in road bike helmets anymore..
I’ve owned two of these. The first I was wearing when I took a fall. The helmet cracked as it should in the fall. I was safe and able to ride away, head injury free. Highly recommend.
Feels like nothing is there which is hard to find for my misshapen head. Looks sexy, and ventilation breathes like a blue whale diving down 1000 feet.
Incredible fit, lightweight
Comfortable, lightweight helmet with lots of air vents. I love it.
Hands down the best helmet I’ve used. Great fit, light, and looks great!
excellent deal and a comfortable helmet to wear
Helmet fits great and is extremely well ventilated. Highly recommend!!!
Love the airflow, and comfort on the road. Upgraded from a 10 year old ATMOS helmet from Giro and this one feels just as breezy if not more so. Comfy and does its job!
Great helmet- light-weight and comfortable!
Its a great helmet
Extremely light & vented. Only gripe is it rides pretty high on my head, but looks aren’t much to consider when you’re that comfortable.
I ride in Florida and the helmet is comfortable and cool. As a bald guy I find the helmet sits low without hair to prop it up and there is no adjustability to raise it. Still a very good helmet.
Comfortable fit, lightweight, with excellent ventilation.
Fit and finish about as good as it gets
Looks great
Amazing
Best helmet out there for road gravel and MTB, super adjustable fit, breathes like none other and looks good
Great helmet at a reasonable price! Very comfortable. Looks great. Fits great.
Best fitting helmet I have ever owned. The ventilation is as good as it gets. Just love Specialized bikes, shoes, gloves, clothing and the helmets tops them all.
Sits on the head nicely without being too low on the brow (I tried a giro and it hit my glasses). Great venting!
Light, very well vented
Nice Hemet.
Wanted a helmet with MIPS. This one is light, fits well, and is nicely adjustable. Have previous S-Works helmets and don’t like other brands. Highly recommend.
The fitting condition is helping is very nice fits well great amount of adjustability.. I have written the salad on a very hot in humid days the extra venation Proved to be a winning factor compared to other riders. The cost was a bit high but I feel Regular rider who is well worth the extra money.
Light weight, secure and plenty of ventilation
Great helmet, lite lots of air
Comfortable, fits my oval shaped head quite well. Very lightweight and breathable, and love the MIPS protection it provides.
Nice helmet.
Great fit, super lightweight!
Bought this to replace a 9 yr old S3. Didn’t disappoint, lightweight, well vented, good for climbing mountains in hot weather. Recommended
Great helmet, lite with excellent air flow. It seems to run slightly smaller in comparison to other brands.
Super fit, lightweight and great ventilation
Great
Brilliant helmet . Fits perfectly . Very comfortable and looks great . All good . 👌
Helmet is awesome. Great fit, well made and the ventilation is 2nd to none. However, for an S-Works product--$250 Helmet you would think Specialized would not cheap out & not include the ANGI sensor. Also, would much rather the magnetic latch for the chin strap that is on my S-Works Evade. Love the Helmet--Disappointed in Specialized.
Best helmets on the market, extremely light and ventilation is perfect.
Great helmet. I have a move of an oval shape head and it fits well. Very light weight and comfortable. Only gripe, I wish it had the magnetic chin strap like the evade and angi sensor for the $250 price tag.
Helmet fits great and feels super lightweight. My only issue is the front straps sit to the outside of the helmet vs. the inside so they are difficult to put your shades over. No other helmet does this, it’s very curious. They tend to catch a lot of wind and can be quite loud.
Spesh needs to bring the round fit models sold abroad to the USA for people with big heads like me Helmet is amazing weight & build wise Not the right fit for round/large heads
I really like the chin straps, with the joiner below the ear. Air flow is good and the helmet is very light weight. Some helmets fit me too tight at the sides... not this one though. If anything, it's a little loose at the sides. That results in the whole thing tilting forward onto my eyebrows. I found an adjustment inside the helmet, where you can shift the whole rear locking mechanism up in a bit, which helped (that adjustment doesn't seem to be documented though). I still have up tighten the helmet more than I would like, to keep it from shifting forward onto my eyebrows. However, it's probably supposed to be that snug anyway. I forget about it once I'm riding, so that works for me.
so cool you will need a cap under just to keep your head warm
FEELS GREAT!! SUPER LIGHT…Wish the logo was black…But I love it
Love the prevail helmets. They fit my head better than any other helmet I tried (Giro, Lazer) and the helmet is so light I don't even feel the need to take it off during breaks. Obviously fit is a personal issue, but this one molds simply perfect onto my head without any pressure points. I keep the head warm in the winter with a regular winter hat and it stays as cool as possible in the summer heat. Will be the same model again when I need a new helmet.
Best fitting, comfortable, and extremely light weight.
Just an overall great helmet.
By far the best helmet I’ve ever owned. Light weight and great ventilation. The fit and secure position on my head is confidence inspiring that if I crashed I would be protected. Expensive but worth it.
Love this helmet … looks good, love the safety ANGI feature and sensor that my wife can track to know where I am and how safe I am.
This helmet is lightweight and breaths exceptionally well when on those hot summer rides. The fit is perfect for me, also has lots of fit adjustments that you can make.
The adjustment knob breaks. It has to be a design flaw. I've had it replaced twice in a year and all 3 helmets have broken in the same manner. Spent over $200 on a helmet I cannot trust.
I took off the front padding and noticed the back of the padding has plastic i'm not a fan of plastic on paddings it feels stuffy gave me a headache and i put the old padding from the prevail 2 then it felt much comfortable overall not a bad helmet
I am now a huge believer in MIPS technology and this helmet. I inadvertently flew over my handlebars at approximately 20 mph. The last thing I recall was looking to my right as I knew something was wrong (I was already off the saddle and well ahead of my handlebars) and saying to myself to brace for impact. I landed on my left side head and whole body (I know this due to the cracks in my helmet and the road rashes on my left side). I woke up being helped into an ambulance. Long story short the helmet did its job. Concussion but no brain bleed (CT scan). I'll be ordering another one!
I am alive and walking today because of this helmet. I was riding as far to the right on the road as possible when a car speeding at 40mph plowed in to me from behind on 2/8/2022. I spent 2 nights in the ICU, then 3 nights in the main hospital. My bills are still accumulating, but they are currently close to $200,000. I have several fractures (fibula, L1 & L2) and a HUGE hematoma on my back side, but those are relatively minor injuries that will heal. The only brain-related injury was a concussion, which seems to have resolved itself. The helmet stayed on, albeit dented and cracked in places. I am alive and walking literally because of this helmet.
unfortunately i've had 2 big crashes in the last year... 2 helmets wrecked - but my brain still in one piece! as much as it ever was, anyway! honestly, banged my head PRETTY hard both crashes and the helmets did their job SO well i didn't even get a concussion. very grateful to have spent the money upfront for safety. also grateful for crash replacement savings...
I recently crashed my bike after the front tire slipped into a cablecar track in Tucson, AZ. The way I got tossed off the bike put my head/helmet hitting the pavement first. My helmet took the brunt of the impact, broke it clear through in 2 places. My Specialized S-Works Prevail did what it was designed to do; protect my brain. I got a mild concusion with very little road rash because I didn’t slide..it was a head dive. Thank you Specialized.
as many have mentioned the chin straps feel flimsy compared to any Giro strap. Bought a medium and the fit was good. A well designed and good looking helmet. one month in and the lock retention system is holding up.
Very comfortable helmet. Fortunately, I haven’t had to try it out. I have yet to activate ANGI, but I didn’t buy the helmet for ANGI anyway.
This helmet is sooo light and vents really well! It's easy to adjust so it works around my ponytail. I love that it is compatible with ANGi as well. I did notice that the chin strap does get a bit loose, so I make sure that it is tightened up before my ride starts. This is something I normally check before starting my rides, so it doesn't bother me at all.
Received the Prevail II vent in the sand gloss color. It looks and feels great. However, I am disappointed in the strap. It seems cheap and comes loose throughout rides. This means that I have to tighten the chin strap sometimes during rides. I am sure a lot of work was put into improving the safety aspects of this helmet, but the chin strap issue is somewhat concerning.
Loving my new S-WORKS PREVAIL II VENT WITH ANGI, It is very light weight and fits perfectly. Great venting , its not been super hot in the north east yet but am sure this will keep my head cool during the hot summer days, Having Angi on the helmet gives me a piece of mind knowing I can get help if biking alone and have an issue. Wish they made it in some other colors :)
once you put this on, you never want to wear anything else riding - so light and airy. recommend!
As advertised this is the coolest helmet I have owned in terms of ventilation. It is also by far the best with sweat management. I don't get any dripping in my eyes as the sweat collects in the new brow pad and a push against the forehead gets rid of what's there. I used to think the Aether and Ventral were the best around, but this is better. Would be 5 stars if it wasn't so expensive, but you really do get what you pay for here.
Looks great functions well. Breathable, comes with angi sensor and mips. I would have like to have seen the magnetic clasp like on the evade.
Yes I have a big head fits very well like a glove
Light weight, beautiful and fresh, Prevail fits really well. Absolutely nice helmet!
