Whether your goal is to escape on gravel back roads, far from cars and crowds, or drop the hammer at the front of your favorite gravel race, no bike does it better than the new Diverge. It’s quite simply the fastest, most capable - and just maybe the most fun - bike we’ve ever made, delivering a ride that’s quick and lively under power, but stable and confidence inspiring when the terrain gets rough. From Future Shock 2.0 and all-new gravel geometry, to internal storage and category leading tire clearance, the new Diverge represents everything we’ve learned over more than 40 years of riding road, gravel and dirt. The Diverge writes an entirely new chapter in the gravel bike category, so you can dream up entirely new rides. It’s the ultimate getaway vehicle.

With a FACT 9r carbon frame and Future Shock 2.0 the Diverge Expert will have you riding faster and more confidently over more terrain than you ever imagined possible. SRAM's wireless Rival eTap AXS 12-speed groupset delivers quick, crisp shifting and Roval Terra Carbon wheels mated to Pathfinder Pro 42mm tires ensure performance across smooth pavement, dirt roads and gravel tracks. A Roval Terra seat post post keeps the Diverge Expert perfectly balanced for the ultimate ride.

  • With a FACT 9r carbon frame, the Diverge Expert frame is incredible capable and race bike light. Pin it for your local dirt climb KOM, or grind up a giant back country peak, the light and lively Diverge will get you there faster.

  • Speed, control and confidence - Future Shock 2.0 is the ultimate technology for the gravel rider. With 20mm of axial compliance and a hydraulic damper, Future Shock 2.0 suspends the rider not the bike. This keeps you confident and in control, able to keep the power down and stay off the brakes over rough dirt roads and in thick loose gravel, all while keeping your hands, arms and neck fresh. Since Future Shock 2.0’s damper is adjustable, you’ll be ready for the rough stuff and efficient on smooth pavement.

  • We tossed gravel geometry ‘status-quo’ out the window. The new Diverge has the most progressive geometry we’ve ever created for a drop bar bike, giving riders a capable and stable bike in the dirt, that still feels responsive and nimble on the road. We’ve increased the frame’s reach, introduced a slacker head tube and a longer offset fork. All this creates incredible confidence with a planted feeling in the dirt, while spec’ing shorter stems keeps the overall cockpit length the same and the steering lively. We’ve kept the bike’s BB low to increase stability, but high enough to utilize with 650b wheels if that’s your jam.

  • We’ve given the Diverge plenty of rack mounts, including fork and top tube mounts, to ensure you can take what you need, no matter how far you plan to go, or how long you plan to stay out. Note: all carbon models will need an aftermarket seatpost clamp with rack mount to install a rear rack. (Part Number: S184700001).

  • Nothing unlocks a bike’s capability like tire clearance, so we gave the new Diverge a whopping 47mm of tire clearance with a 700c wheel and 2.1” with a 650b wheel. Thanks to a drive side chain stay utilizing a solid beam of carbon behind the chain rings we’ve created clearance without using a fragile dropped chain stay design or increasing chain stay length.

  • The more capable your bike, the bigger your rides get, so Diverge borrows SWAT internal storage from the legendary Stumpy. The SWAT door lets you utilize space in the down tube to store tools, a flat kit, nutrition and even our SWAT Jacket. It keeps weight off your body, low in the bike for better handling, and makes you more self-sufficient, so get out there. SWAT’s got your back.

Conforto

Worth the upgrade 2016 to 2023 version

Was previously riding a 2016 Diverge Expert and decided to move up to a newer Diverge Expert with the 1 x 12 electronic shifting and the Future Shock 2.0. Both are great improvements. The 1 x 12 gives me virtually the same gear range I had before with my 2 x 11 system but the shifts are crisper and I don't have to fuss with the front derailleur. The Future Shock 2.0 greatly lessens the road vibrations transmitted thru the handlebars without feeling sloppy or spongey. Overall a great gravel bike (with pedals and after moving to slightly smaller tires 32/38 f/r I am at 20.5 lbs for size 56 frame).

Love it

Have been on a Roubaix since 2010 with the latest a 2022 which I love. Have a set of gravel wheels for it but the Roubaix maxed out at 35mm tires. So to get into more gravel got the 2023 Diverge in the copper/orange flat paint. Love riding it! It’s so smooth, quiet, responsive, and the headset shock is awesome. Depending on the lighting the bike goes from blac to brown to copper to orange tint - beautiful! Highly Recommend!

you are correct to be concerned about the future shock system

The head set for this bike is a nightmare. For some reason the lower bearings go bad rapidly. Upon replacing the lower bearing for the 4th time in 18 months (they go bad in a month but I ride it until I can't turn the bars anymore). I am dealing with a broken compression washer and broken bolts in the compression ring. The dealer I bought the bike from seems to hate customers so they have been no help. Looks like replacing the complete headset is going to cost $120. The bearing replacements have cost $35 each time although I would pay more if there was a better bearing option. I have owned a lot of bikes and a lot of head sets and none has been so costly and time consuming to maintain the head set. Never mind the complication of working on this headset. Otherwise the bike is great (sram brakes aside). I went with this over the Crux for swat storage and that was a mistake. The future shock is getting rough and noisy now too.

Super bike!

Absorbing alpine tracks and beyond

Recently switched from road cycling (S-Works Tarmac SL6) to the use of a more versatile Diverge living in Val de Bagnes (Switzerland) in perspective of physiologic aging. The adaptation was seamless, climbing as before, but now accessing the dirt roads that are usually occurring before reaching the top of climbs. Very stable, comfortable and agile.

Traum Bike

Brilliant off-roader

As a seasoned "roadie" this bike has been my introduction to "gravel" riding (or byways, tracks and bridleways as it really is in the UK). I am not disappointed - it is a brilliant bike. Superbly balanced and feels fast and responsive off-road, on heavy mud or smooth gravel track, whether climbing or descending. Love the SWAT compartment. Futureshock does make a difference - after 2-3 hours off road I just don't feel shaken up. With some heavier lugged tyres it is incredible and you get the most out of the lovely Roval wheels. The handling at the front end feels a bit "wavy" on tarmac, but off-road it really pays off - you feel you can push it and the bike will handle it. Be warned, though, that the kit on the bike is not really SRAM Rival. Only the shifters and brake calipers are Rival. The drivetrain is all from SRAM's Eagle family of mountain bike kit - it is good but it means you will be limited to a small range of mtb cassettes.

The suspension in the headset

The suspension in the headset is a game changer for gravel. I have ridden a number of gravel bikes and this one just smooth everything out. Just enough flex in the set post to take edge off but not be annoying. Look forward to riding it every chance I get.

Overall Very Satisfied

Very comfortable and stable ride, built for miles. Heavy-ish, but once rolling, efficiently fast. I do wish some of the components were a little higher-end, some parts with surface rust, and, to be honest would go high-end mechanical over electronic shifting for main reason being the weak chain tension, for which the derailleur has no adjustment.

2x and Wheel Upgrade for the Win - Five-Stars w/ Upgrades

I opted for a few updates, building a "Pro-ish" spec. Upgraded to Terra CL wheels with S-Works Pathfinders as well as a Rival 2x setup (10-36 cassette outback and a 40/33 crankset up front). Change in wheels and tires alone saved me 600+ grams and though the Rival is heavy, shifts like a dream. All told, my build comes in at 20lbs on the dot. I'm awaiting a Terra Carbon bar as my final upgrade as I really dislike the stock handlebar. The is feels lively on the climbs, stable at speed, and confident on the downhills. Long rides mean that I regularly carry 4 bottles and could opt for more, but I chose the Fjallraven top tube/Bento Box instead. SWAT Storage keeps all my emergency gear tucked away, not in my pockets. I'm not sold on the Future Shock yet, but that could be because it's doing the job right and I don't notice it. I'm not sure I'd be as happy with the bike with the heavy stock parts, but many people who are less concerned about wheel weight won't go wrong with this whip.

Great bike but annoyed at some details

So this is my third gravel bike. I have a Vaya (which is sort of more optimized for bike packing and touring) and had a hakka mx. I do like the future shock and I do like the new geometry. Things taht annoy me. They put a nx cassette on carbon wheelset on a 6200 dollar bike. I wish this came with GX and an Xdriver for the freehub so when things wear you can replace. As it is now I have to upgrade thre freehub and do a bunch of other stuff. Otherwise I think its a great bike.

Look No Further

I purchased a Cervelo Aspero and loved everything about it until I rode the Diverge Expert Carbon. All that the engineers claimed is true. Love the geometry, the new head shock and forks make the ride both comfortable and responsive. Climbs like a goat and the descents feel more like I am riding my road bike as the bike handles the corners with ease. I looked for months so I can honestly say for the money there is not a better bike on the market. Test ride it and you will be hooked.

When Two Roads Diverged...

I have the privilege have being able to ride both the Expert and the S-Works Diverge, and I am enjoying the Expert far more than the SW. I set it up with Roval Terra Carbon bars (the stock bars are not great) and Roval CLX EVO 650B wheels with Rene Hearse Juniper Ridge tires. So much fun to ride!!!

The Diverge - Magic Carpet Ride

Purchased the 2020 Roubaix Expert to be a BWR Bike. It works great with 32mm All Conditions. However, curiosity for the Diverge got the best of me. Made several personal preference upgrades to my Carbon Expert: ZIPP SL Speed Carbon Stem, SW Power Mimic, SW Hoover Bar, CLX Terras (XDR), SRAM Force Cranks arms, Levers, Calipers, Centerline X Rotors, XX1 AXS Eagle RD, Garbaruk 10-52 Cassette, 12/16 Pullys and 42t Oval Chainring. This Bike rips the STD (Skinny Tire Dirt) XGravel chunky stuff. Concrete and black top's proficiently on the Pathfinder 42s, as well. The Diverge handled 101 miles with 7,100 ft EG, 95% Dirt, mostly mountain bike territories stunningly. The volume surprised me as I stopped looking at my watch while I was having so much fun thru the ride. The Diverge climbs, descends and rips single track so similar to my SW Epic HT, it's dreamy. The SWAT Chamber in the frame carries delicate Powdered Replenishment in ziplocks fine atop the Flat Kit Bag. Super Grateful.

Best Value in a Gravel Bike Anywhere!

An Amazing bike for the money. This is my first gravel bike and I love it. I added 38mm tubless tires to drop weight and added a 100 mm stem to improve fit and handling. The electronic shifiting and disc brakes are both amazing... My first time with each and I'm in love. The bike handles great, the head shock is a welcome feature on long gravel. And while it's slightly heavier then the SWorks, this bike performs well above it's pay grade. For the money, I don't believe there is a better value anywhere!

wonderful bike to ride

My very first time riding this bike, I noticed as soon as you step on the gas, IT GOES! If felt quick and nimble (in comparison to the Elite which I rode previously). The SRAM wireless shifters are so impressive. Super smooth, and precise! The Future shock was something that wasn't an important to me, but after a few hundred miles of Manhattan city riding, I am so grateful I have it. I was surprised the bike didn't feel as light as some other aluminum competitors (when picking up the bike), but suspect the Future shock, and beefy rear (wireless) derailleur may have something to do with it. But again, it feels quick and responsive while riding. A tad pricey at $6k, but do not regret it one bit.
